I'm a 2019 Colorado ZR2 owner and have a few comments. Things I like about the 2022 Silverado ZR2: 1. Really like the interior. 2. Fog lights up front. 3. F & R locking diffs. Things I am dissapointed with: 1. REAR SHOCK placement... sheesh, come on man! 2. Need an option for 35s. 3. Drop the silverado badge off the tailgate. 4. Wheel well trim is lame, as on my Colorado ZR2.
Great to meet you Joe at the Atlanta airport on your way back from filming this episode. The AT4X I was going to buy was sold before I could get home. Looking for another but hard to find. I don't want to settle for the regular AT4. ZR2 is a nice option too, but also hard to find. Love your videos and hope to catch you at the airport again!
I have a 2018 Silverado HD LT, pretty well equipped, paid $52K plus tax, this ZR2 is a nice truck, but the price is stupid, I'd get an AT4 for thousands less, still get the new interior, and I'm not driving up MT Everest, $70K, give me a break

Junk....the newer Chevys have a cheap looking interior , and the newer Silverados have lifter problems. I'd never buy a new Chevy. I hope no one else does untill they actually make something good, like they used to

This thing starts at the same price as the Raptor. I’d look into a Trail Boss/AT4 but the ZR2/AT4X is not worth the price point for the minimal gains over the lesser models.
should make the zr2 a trim package not a model so you can get it with other engine combos & interiors like a custom 5.3 or 2.7T would drop price by 10k-15k
GM’s quality, dependability and reliability history is rather poor and doesn’t compare to Toyota’s legendary history. Tried and true 6.2L V8? You may want to research that statement first.
I think that’s a sweet looking truck. My neighbor had an LTZ version with nice wheels and tires. They’re sharp but man are they expensive. Just like so many people think there may be a housing crash coming, do you think these high prices are near to stay?
This truck will have better off-road capability then the TRD pro but like you said it’s not a Raptor or TRX. I wish GM would have made it more unique/special. Maybe different fenders , bigger tires and how about a new updated 6.2 ? We are going on what almost 10 years of the same output. None the less nice truck but man do they get expensive. I bought a 2022 tundra, but the ZR2 was my second choice. I’ll take the Toyota any day of the week. I do love the 6.2L engine in the ZR2, only wish they would have added more power. Love the Borla exhaust and V-8 sound, but my Tundra will have to do. Thanks again for a great presentation of a great truck.

My previous raptor gave me headache, at 2K miles camphaser was already replaced and sunroof was always leaking. It was fully bolt on and tuned running 480 whp but wasnt enough to beat a TRX. So if I cant beat em why not join em lol

I test drove the 2022 Tundra Platinum and Limited. I wasn't impressed with the V6 turbos and purchased a low miles 2021 Tundra TRD Pro with an actual tried and true V8 engine instead. GM trucks are always rated terrible for reliability on consumer reports. However, its important to note when comparing pricing that GM offers truck months and other incentives where you can get up to $14k off MSRP. Nobody is getting discounts off MSRP for the Tundra (2021 or 2022). In fact most dealerships are adding "market adjustments" of $4,000 and up to 2021 Tundras still on their lots and ofcourse to the 2022 Tundras. In fact a Toyota Dealer in Grapevine, TX was asking $15K above MSRP for a 2022 1794 Tundra.
You’ll never see a TRD pro trim anything below MSRP. I don’t care if you’re hot shot, smart guy good with numbers, car shopping expert or you friend is Toyota sales person.
Panoramic Sunroofs are useful maybe 4-5 times a year especially here in Texas! Yea its cool at first, but unless your kids love the carwash this is only good at night and loses its luster quickly.
Rock Solid from Chevy ! As soon as they get new paneling and ditched at plastic mold design itll be in its final form. And although the gas mileage is terrrrible the 10 speed transmission should pull it super easy where you can at least maximize that 15 mgp combined.
Chevy really shot themselves in the foot pricing this to the same level as a raptor or TRX when it lacks so much for the price, ridiculous but not surprised

Great vid as always. Unfortunately, the Silverado Zr2 is nice but the price doesn’t match the performance. This is a slightly beefed up trail boss at Ford Raptor price, within $1,000 actually. I’d rather get the Raptor, new Tundra TRD pro with pano roof (or TRX at this price point as a value buy), all which have more HP and torque than this Trail Boss (GM’s so cheap they couldn’t even give it a nicer exterior look) and I am a fan of GM, been in love with prev gen look of Denali HD pickup.

Yeah, but the ZR2 comes essentially fully loaded at its "base" price. So in reality, this truck is no different to a fully loaded Tremor, Rebel, TRD PRO.
GM finally got the interior right, now get a real sunroof and running boards should come with all their trucks that are LT and above but I’ve see high country Silverados with no running boards which is sad

Anyways this is obviously the off-road version and that it haves a V8 with around 420-hp, 18'inch wheels with 33' inch tires, can tow est. 8,900 pounds and a massive 13.4-inch center touchscreen and ECT. Chevy says the ZR2's high-mounted steel bumper provides a 31.8-degree approach angle, and it haves stander 4-WD, which includes electronic-locking front and rear differentials, plus tricked-out suspension and the latter includes Multimatic spool-valve dampers that are derived from Formula 1 cars and Baja race trucks. That's only the tip of the iceberg 😅. Anyways what is your favorite half-ton full-size pick-up truck. Maybe the GMC Sierra AT4X, Ford F-150 Raptor, Ram 1500 TRX, or ECT. Must be different pricing where you are, but in Canada the base ZR2 is like $14,000 CAD cheaper than the base Raptor. Huge difference in price here.
The silverado zr2 should have come stock with 35's. Or at least an optional 35 package.

That's only the tip of the iceberg 😅.
Anyways what is your favorite half-ton full-size pick-up truck.

Gotta resolve that 6.2 lifter issue. I have family on 3rd failure.. same vehicle. I would love one of these but not touching the 6.2 until resolved.

Truck of the Year ? Joe I have to also zonk the price at almost $80,000+ and no supercharger or pair of turbos, but it sounds better than a Tundra TRD Pro.
