Thank you so much for this video. After changing my MAF, IAT and clearing the long term memory I was still getting the MAF obd code and van going into limp mode. Searched high and low for the issue and finally got to your vid. After changing over hoses; £36 oem (plus a bodge to protect new hose from that bloody bolt) all seems to be sweet again. Thank you for saving me hundreds of £ going to a franchise dealership and having them waste a lot of time and my money finding the fault. Late '64 plate custom tourneo 2.2
Great video, i had whooshing noise and loss of power with the hill assist light coming on and staying on, after watching this video this was exactly my problem. I changed the pipe and my van is perfect since. Thank you.
My vans been down on power for a week , evident whooshing noise , watched your video and you was bang on . Thanks for putting this up ! ( no engine lights either )
Just got a boost leak in the last few days popped on TH-cam seen your video watched it checked the van what the exact place it’s got a whole in it thanks for making the video really pin pointed the problem 👍🏼
Wooshing noise as described 65 plate custom and yes loss of power!! Had a look underneath and a feel round and exactly where you described the bolt rubs the hose, it feels like theres a hole. Im hoping thats my issue....just need to get the pipe off and fix it. Thanks
exact same issue on mine, throws up a MAF sensor code, can feel the loss off power before it goes into limp mode, will be trying this fix, just picked up some fibre flex tape for £5 from toolstation. Hopeful that it will clear the code once repaired. Very informative video, thanks you.
Hi, I’m on the hunt for a mid size van, ideally crew cab, I’ve narrowed what I like Down to Ford custom sport 170, vw transporter t5.1 140 or the 1.6 vivaro/trafic with a 20k budget. The custom you get more for your money but reliability seems bad? They don’t like keeping their injectors in apparently? Also which is the better engine to aim for 2.2 or the 2.0? Vw transporter just seems very overpriced and not as reliable as what they are made out to be? DMF seem their biggest issue. The 1.6 vivaro/trafic seems to get slagged off a lot, mostly for the 1.6 engine being said shouldn’t be in a van But they also seem to be highly rated for being nice to drive? Any recommendations? I know all vans have their issues but would like some advice on what the smartest chose would be, cheapish issues I’m ok with but DMF are big job and injectors are insanely expensive jobs too, are those issues over exaggerated? Would a well looked after 2016 custom around 100k be expecting anything major to be looked at? Thanks anyone for any advice or thoughts
Its a tough call, as you say they all have their issues, my advise when looking for 2nd hand vans is to take each one on its own merits, look for well maintained vans with service history, and clean bodywork, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Top notch advice as always. Great videos, always informative & interesting. Things that help driveway DIYers such as myself out. Fantastic channel. Alan
I'm getting a hissing sound on mine but only when I lift my foot off the gas after acceleration. Is this normal or do I have this problem? Can't hear anything on actual acceleration only when I lift my foot off the gas. Also van going into limp mode on motorway while cruising. Code showing low fuel pressure. Cheers for any help.
Hello mate! I'd really appreciate a reply off you, did you solve your issue because mine is the exact same as yours and I can't figure it out! Thanks very much
unbelievable that was engineered that way!! My 2017-Transit 350-HD-3.2-Deisel has been an absolute MONEY PIT !!! Worst experience of my Life with a vehicle!!! Please Toyota make a Commercial Van !!!!!
It is not a clip it is a clamp. Specifically, It is a " Hose Clamp" not a Jubilee clip". Remove old hose Buy a new hose. Cut the bottom end shorter by 1/2" and Put 4 layers of Aluminum Tape around the hose near where the bolt is. Then install the new hose. Done.

Hi. Would the hole in the pipe cause oil to leak out? Thanks
might be a tiny amount, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi, great video but when you said it might be too late, what do you mean by that?

Hey bro can the hose damage the turbo if it's damage like that?
Not normally, just loss of turbo pressure Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Sounds like you have a hole somewhere, other the pipe or a stone chip through the intercooler, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
