I feel like Shay Cormac should've been here. I know he turned Templar, but he single-handedly tore apart an entire branch of Assassins. That's skill right there.
For me Altair is still the number one. He was an Assassin for most of his life and he had a synchronisation bar not a health bar, meaning he was never hit outside of cutscenes.
You should say altaïr AND ezio, ezio is he's follower, he was the master assassin, the only missing thing is he was not an assassin before owning his father's robes.
For me, the AC lore says it all. Altair was known for his wisdom for studying the apple for most of his later years while Ezio was known for his skills and talent as he was the greatest mentor the brotherhood had. This is also proven by the line "Desmond, armed with the wisdom of Altair and the skills of Ezio." Ezio was the most skilled assassin.
I think Shay should really be considered top tier in the aspect that he is an Assassin hunter. This means he is able to counter Assassin tactics, which I believe takes a great deal of skill!
His skills were said to have grown a lot when hunting assassins and he was a templar at that point. As an assassin he wasnt that great but still very good
Why is Altair never placed at No 1? HE IS THE ASSASSIN everyone that started early played with. He introduced the series and is the best even in Ezio’s lifetime. Started as an assassin and lived as an assassin. Ezio gets more sequels but that is the only advantage he has. Ezio is my personal favourite but if we’re talking about the best assassin, it’s Altair without a doubt.
Yeah but the top 10 is based on Who were good at their job, considering altair failed mayorly at his first target and therefore looses his ranks and has to begin a New with a hitlist prooves he had much to learn yet, while ezio begins Being An assasins taking a templar headmaster.... So When you compare altair Who was ahead in his ranks fails st killing A templair soldier vz ezio Who begins Being an assasins and kills a templar headmaster, ezio wins
Usman, I think it's more of that Altair get caught more than Ezio, Ezio at most messed up in the Vatican City and maybe Venice, he most of the time assassinated his targets in stealth and you see this in AC2, considering that most Templars don't even know who the assassin was, only Rodrigo Borgia, even in Venice when he shot the Doge on his boat in front of everyone, no one knew who did it cause he wear a mask during it, meanwhile when Altair killed someone, there's a chase scene and the whole city is on lockdown and bells are ringing to find you, he even have to hide in the Assassin's Bureau until the heat dies down
@@FlareTheFolf It was a game mechanic, to increase the difficulty of the game as you progress further in the story. I think he deserves praise for being able to carry out any assassination despite the fact that everyone knows who he is, unlike Ezio who was particularly unknown. Their mission difficulties are already different but that standard. I love Ezio too. Brotherhood is my favourite in the series.
Altair is 100% the best assassin. He doesn't even have a health but rather a synchronization bar which indicates that he basically never took damage. He was also the only one we know of that was raised from really young to be an assassin. He's been an assassin his whole life and he was damn good at it. Whilst Ezio was really great, even Ezio acknowledges that Altair was one of the best.
That's not cannon, that's a broken theory created by fans, that's not the reason he has a synchronization bar, the reason is just esthetic, it's the first game, the devs wasn't sure how to make the esthetics of the game, it could be ANYONE as the protagonist of AC 1, they still would have the same bar.
For me, it's Altaïr 1rst, Ezio 2nd. By the way, a codex page in Ac 2 reveals it was the way of the 3rd crusade Brotherhood to assassinate targets with spectacle.
@@sthepcorms6747 then explain why the synchronization bar even dropped when you hit innocents if it was a regular health bar? It cant be Altair who got damaged when hitting innocents, right? And your arguement about "it could be ANYONE" is just silly... The synchronization bar is supposed to show how well Desmond is synched with Altair, if it dropped, that means Desmond did sth that Altair didnt back then, and if it drops because you took a hit against an enemy, that means Altair never got hit by him. I know its just a video game and that it still is supposed to be a health bar in the end, the synch bar is just an excuse for it, i know what you mean and understand it, but we are talking about the lore here, and the lore with the animus in AC1 only makes sense if we think about Altair not even getting hit once outside the cutscenes. Ezio is still the goat assassin for me tho. Altair not getting hit once is good for him, doesnt benefit the brotherhood tho. Ezio made the brotherhood way bigger than it ever was with Altair, doesnt matter if he did that whilst learning from him
@@sthepcorms6747it is canon because it’s stated that Altaïr was never hit, go do your research. And the sync bar literally means the memory depleting. The sync bar is the animus losing it’s memory that’s what it literally means, it isn’t just some cool thing they added, when the sync bar goes down that’s the animus losing it’s memory
I have to say that Arno is definitely underrated. He was canonically a stealthier and thus deadlier Assassin than anyone before him. When combined with the setting, and favouring a stealthy approach, you can really see (and play) that in-game.
Yes. The phantom blade is a great asset, as well as double assassination and all the tools he had at his disposal for stealth. He has great vision and hearing as you can see in every mission intro. Mastering him made for a very fluid gameplay
Connor was capable of taking on an entire army practically singlehandedly, Ezio rebuilt the brotherhood and was the biggest driving force behind the dismantling of the Borgias, and Altair reformed the Assassins into something better than what they were just after he took down his mentor while he held a freaking Piece of Eden (The Frye twins did take on someone holding a Piece of Eden as well, but they weren't fucking Al Mualim)
Honestly, a lot of the complaints about the newer games seem to stem from childish opinions about ‘oh this isn’t the Assassins Creed I like so it isn’t Assassins Creed. Look. As a series goes on, companies have to change up the formula to prevent the series going stale so all you purists can just grow up
@@yungdebt1034 if altair was better than ezio why did desmond's father in ac3 say "knowledge of altair and skill of ezio" instead of only altair, maybe its because ezio was better than altair
Technically there is no right or wrong way to wield the hidden blade. Darius, the first proto-assassin the brotherhood looked up to, had it on the outside of his wrist. It’s just in Origins Bayek didn’t understand this and neither did Aya. And Bayek should definitely be higher on this list because throughout the game his heart changes and he realizes that there’s much more than just avenging his son. Plus he’s a great public help just like Evie. He was always helping citizens be it carry something for them or saving their family from bandits
Bayek needs way more credit than he is given. Bayek is my 3rd favorite in the series just behind ezio and Edward. (And depending on what time you ask me I might say Connor is 3rd). ALSO YES! Eivor wore it perfectly fine. It doesn’t affect gameplay or really animations that much. And Eivor is better at social stealth than Altaïr, Bayek, and Kassandra/Alexios. So Bayek and Eivor are super unappreciated
@@MohnJarstonWasThere1907 I agree to an extent. How each player plays the games is up to them but Altair is definitely better at social stealth than any other character
@@LoneStarAstrodome I can get behind that if you try and convince me. The entire city went after Altaïr after every assassination, yet they don’t do that to ezio, Connor, OR Edward
@@MohnJarstonWasThere1907 yes that is because Altair wanted his presence known. But Altair had a sync bar instead of a health bar, suggesting he never took any damage whatsoever. He was stealthy all the way up until his target was killed. If it was not his target, he generally would not kill unless absolutely necessary
I loved the duality of his rage and his empathy with others, he was actually a really good character with splendid voice acting. The story has some holes and some out of place moments, but Bayek really stood out for the whole experience.
I've played all AC games (just haven't finished Valhalla yet) and *Origins* is my absolute favorite. *I love EVERYTHING about this game. It's just PHENOMENAL!*
@@alexbastos6960 Origins is my favorite, too. With the AC games coming to PlayStation Plus, I’ve just started Unity. Maybe like 4 hours in and the parkour is amazing. I’ve played everyone except Unity and Rogue. I’ve been on an AC binge this year. Played Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Black Flag. By the end of the year, I’m going to run through all of the main titles in the series again.
That's why it's sad we don't see more to Bayak. When Ezio went to Venice, Rome and Constantinople, revenge wasn't on his mind anymore. We get one Bayak story with him as member of the Hidden Ones, 8 years after the founding
Bayek is the transition of a warrior into an Assassin and how his goal became from avenging his son to saving this world from the order through being in the shadows and become the forgotten one...
I would like to point this out the reason Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla don't feel like Assasin Creed games is because you're playing as a Spartan and a Viking both of which were known for facing there problems head-on with a blade Plus in Odyssey you aren't a assassin
Same bro the graphics were INSANE to me, the diffrence on graphics between ps2 and ps3 were absolutely crazy... thats why assassins creed 1 was my absolute favourite everything seem so realistic and unreal and tbh it still holds up to today in my opinion
AC1 is the first game i played, and also the best AC game imo. Ubisoft is forgetting one important element after the two last RPG’s, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
Okay bro, Kenway in black flag is the most badass assasin the series has ever seen. He’s heartless in battle and the fact that he’s a pirate makes it even better.
He can't, his not a woman so including him won't allow certain people to keep reminding us of how undiscriminating they are Let's instead miss up everything else
On one hand, it does make sense. If you ask Shay what he considers himself, I'd bet he would say a Templar. That said- lets be real- he dunks on like 90% of the order. The only guys giving him a genuinely hard time imo are Altair and Ezio, but people from 4 to 12 are just another day for that guy
Hell no I disagree. He hasn't taken out any assassins on the level of these guys. Adewale was old as hell. He doesn't count. Also iirc, Haytham defeated him. Not Shay. Shay would more than likely lose to Haytham. Let alone Connor and Edward. Altair and Ezio are way too intelligent, experienced, skilled and wise for Shay. Now the others he could probably take. @@thedevilisaloser666
@@rafayg7376 I agree that Shay would struggle a lot with Ezio and Altair ; but I think there's a genuinely good case he can take on Connor and Edward. Both got into the order fairly late whereas he grew up with it. Connor was trained in the exact ways that Shay was, and we know that Shay knows that. He would be able to predict Connor and work around the strength difference. Edward is a lot closer, the dude is jacked, has a lot of weapons, and knows what he is doing. That said, again, I think Shay just had a bit more technical skill. Edward's big advantage is pure firepower over Shay, but Shay is a more skilled mid and long ranged fighter- if he can keep distance he would probably take it. After all, a stronger shot isn't as deadly as a well placed one. I also am willing to bet that Shay is stronger than Edward, or at least more durable.
Shay would not be a bad no.2 though honestly speaking, he has proper skills, can commandeer a ship and a fleet, effectively hunt real assassins, and takes his job as a templar seriously.
Actually the hidden blade was meant to be worn on the outside of the arm instead of the inside but was then used on the inside for better concealment and the ring finger had to be removed until it was modified so the ring finger didn’t have to be removed. Then was intended to be used inside the forearm. So technically Valhalla got it right and was the correct position for the time period
0:31 I get why you put them that low because they’re not assassins but They would beat all of them so easily because they’re gods but they might run into some trouble with eivor because he is one too
One very important thing for me regarding ezio is that he is the only one who actually understands and explains the creed and its meaning...even altair didnt fully understand it
Wrong. Every Assassin understands it differently showcasing that the Creed is flexible. Arno thought the Creed was a warning meant to guard against dangerous ambitions. Ezio thought it meant the command to be wise.
Every assassin protagonist understand the meaning but they come into a different conclusion like for example: For ezio, he think that we are basically an architect of our own action and that we should take responsibillity whether we get a happy/tragic ending For altair, the creed is more like fighting for your own honor and finding the truth For edward, the creed is the beggining of wisdom that can lead him to become a better man than he was before For arno, like the other guy said the creed was a warning to anyone And for connor, the creed is basically a compromised that no matter how many times assassin may fall and seems lost.... they would never stop until they stop the templar in every era. Idk about jacob and bayek since i never played syndicate and origins.
Altair should easily be 1 without a doubt, people who disagree don’t understand simple words and terms and connect an entire fantasy in their head to line up with their claims.. Bayek and Ezio are the only ones who you could put 2 and 3 depending on what you base it on
for me its shay...he is so concerned to the innocent people that he even betrayed the brotherhood. Just to prove what the colonial assassins were doing was wrong..He's being true to the creed until the end
Shay did changed to Templar but he never betrayed his Brotherhood teachings. After becoming a Templar, he didn't take the loud approach but tries a stealth approach that's why he has a dark rifle not a normal rifle. Even Shay killed Arno's father in stealthy manner that even Arno doesn't know who killed his father.
Odyssey got by far the strongest character if you equip the right gear. 1 hit with a sword can be enough to kill an enemy, one special ability can be able to kill any boss with this single ability hit.
an assassins creed in japan would be awesome, they could bring back stealth with adding things like blending in shadows and silent sneaking and return to more traditional combat styles but keep the new modern gameplay
Arno deserved a way higher spot. He was definitely not flashy or theatric. After Bellec advises him to assassinate his targets in broad view, Arno distastefully declines and says he’d do it his own way. His own way happens to be a stealthier way.
I loved Syndicate, it was probably my favorite AC game so far. The gamepay was really fun. I didn't like to be forced to play asJacob or Evie though, I'd like the choice to choose which one I'd rather play as. Evie was definitely my favorite choice, Jacob was fun but not serious about his profession. I also liked that you could play as Jack the Ripper in the dlc. That was pretty cool. I really liked all the options to upgrade your gang members & clothing colors. I also liked Black Flag even though it was super easy & quick to beat. It was pretty fun. AC 3 was good too, not the best, but I liked the story, I really liked climbing the trees. I miss that in the newer AC games, it was cool to sneak into buildings through various trees rather than on foot through bushes & grass. That's another reason why I liked Syndicate, you mainly jumped on rooftops or ran through buildings, it kept the game interesting! I think that is what is lacking in AC Valhalla, AC Origins, & AC Odyssey, it's all just climbing walls & sneaking through bushes & tall grass. It's not as fun as running through someone's house, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, using a grappling hook (rope dart) to shoot yourself up a building, or climbing through multiple trees. I'm currently playing AC Odyssey, because I never got around to playing it. I was playing AC Origins, but Odyssey came out so fast, then another huge game came out that my friends wanted me to play, so I put them both on hold till now. I have to say, Odyssey looks beautiful on PS5!!! I like looking at other people's pics on Odyssey, cool feature.
That's also why I think the Assassins in the newer Games, Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla are strong fighters, but stealthwise, they don't have much on Alloy from Horizon Zero Dawn for example.
Eivor technically was the only protagonist that wore it correctly. It wasn’t until Bayek used it they way he did that became standard to wear under the arm.
I agreed with this list until number 2 when it went on popularity, give some crap reason to justify putting Altair second. Ezio was a great Assassin and everyone favourite Assassin but it doesn't mean the best. Altair accomplished so much throughout his life and in Assassin's Creed apart from the cut scenes Altair never took an hit so his skill level is that beyond any other Assassin seen in all AC games
@@yes.2010 More knowledge how? Altair made the order what Ezio would come to know. Altair was the only assassin to use the Apple of Eden correctly and gained so much knowledge from it & truly understood how dangerous it was. Altair also managed to see into future to make his own version of the hidden gun blade long before it was ever created. The one thing both Ezio & Altair had in common was arrogance where Altair was taught, humbled then learned by his short sightedness Ezio never had such thing throughout his whole story there was that arrogance with him. I agree it was part of what made Ezio a great assassin but he never learned by it. The thing is AC1 was the original game still finding it's & what to do where AC2 learned to improve like with Watch Dogs 1&2 because of popularity Ezio got 3 game to flush out his character where Altair had 1 & 3 short segments of AC Revelations. You say you prefer Ezio because he was more knowledgeable but yeah he learned so much through the 3 games but when it comes down to it I say it's because he's your favourite assassin character but that is how Ezio was designed to be more likeable
Uh, you could assassinate anybody in Assassin's Creed Odyssey if you specced your gear for+assassination damage. Whoever wrote this doesn't know what they're talking about.
Facts, you can assassinate any target you want. Just depends on your play style. I like that they opened it up into just being a walking killing machine if you want.
Prime Ezio (Brotherhood) was A GOD! as much as I love other assassins, it’s not even close, you won’t know until you wipe out an entire army with one button
In revelations altair does the same with tougher opponents.Shit Altair can do the same to other assassins Revelations consistently implies Altair is superior although they are still on a similar category
@@zigzgshodzixhoxohxh3800 No, it's not. It's an opinion. It's a fact that Adolf Hitler was a dictator. It's an opinion that Kirsten Dunst is a bad actress. Use your noggin, if you have one. You cannot objectify your own opinion into something truthful.
I mean it's worth saying that Alexios not only was the first one but he lived to witness everything else that came to pass and was the only assassin to ever meet an animus user, having lived for ages I think that's pretty legemdary
@@derrickhaggard Not at all for me. Alexios had the better personality and the emotional bits of the story were so much more impactful with him in the game. Phoebe's death and the spouse of the protagonist was much better with Alexios.
I don’t really accept the criticism that “no hidden blade = not an AC game” for Odyssey. It just seems like a needless, irrelevant nitpick to me. It doesn’t matter. It takes place in the AC universe, it has the same characters and the same mythology and everything, therefore it’s an AC game. Period. “You can’t really assassinate anyone except lower level enemies” did this guy even play Odyssey? Invest in the stealth tree, use weapons that increase assassin damage and you can clear out whole bases without breaking a sweat. This dude’s got no clue. Anyway Kassandra is at least on par with Ezio IMO. I don’t understand the visceral hate she gets from the fan base. It’s weird.
@@youdononeetokno But again if that's true than Kassandra would've been higher. Like the other guy said, a full unlocked stealth tree Kassandra is basically the goddess Nyx herself. She can stealth killed 4 enemies in a row in 4 seconds. Blend into the night so well that she's invisible, and doesnt make a sound when moving between targets. Watchmojo just ranked based on membership of brotherhood and skills with the hidden blade instead of ACTUAL assassination techniques and skills. Otherwise, Altair would've been number 1 and Kassandra number 2
THANK YOU OP!! I hate AC fans who think Odyssey & co don't count just because they're not technically Assassin's or the move to the RPG system. Origins, Odyssey & Valhalla being the 3 lowest ranked is just dumb.
Even tho shay was a templar he fought the corruption wich assassins normally used to fight... but when they lose their way shay uses his knowledge and skills to fight the real corruption of his timeline but in another way
Altair is no. 1 because: 1. He was based on the real Assassins of the Crusades. His method of operation was historically accurate, as he stays invisible EXCEPT when it's time to strike. The fact that he can ghost while the whole city is behind him should be alone to earn top rank. 2. He never got hurt outside of cutscenes. No one could touch him. Even when they did, it was someone else's fault. 3. The man lived 92 years when the average man got cut down in his 30s. He's a survivor. 4. He invented every tool and technique that Ezio would later learn.
I’m at the start and I’m without a doubt assuming Ezio and Altair are 1 and 2, nonrespectively. Edward could be around 3 due to how Black Flag ended and how skilled a captain he was too, which did aid his Assassin skills as a whole. Hopefully I’m right Edit: I am immediately fuming at Edward’s placement, only 10 because he wasnt an Assassin for a decent chunk of the game? There are 30 Assassin contracts to complete, he is akin with the use of Hidden Blades from the start, he hunted and killed several templars, a lot of which aided by the Jackdaw. Pure horseshite so far Edit 2: Bayek was the literal FIRST Assassin? And yes he didn’t necessarily NEED stealth but bloody none of them do. Saying it’s because Origins had a new combat system is stupid because it had a revamped stealth system as well. Wrong on many accounts so far.
@@_.Ash.._ That’s like saying how was Blackbeard a skilled Pirate because of the way he was killed in the game? And he wasn’t murdered by just any guards, he was murdered by Templars, posing as his allies in his personal estate. And yet in his life as an Assassin and a Pirate Captain, he killed a ridiculous amount of Templars, including a Grand Master. That’s how he was a skilled Assassin.
Dude he also put Evie and that liberation protagonist above Connor, that beast of a guy, personally it's a competition between Altair, Ezio and Connor for the no.1 position
@@sneko186 Whilst Connor was skilled, I dont think we have any Assassins that come close to either Altair or Ezio. Altair was the first Assassin to truly understand the Isu technology, and Ezio quite literally brought down multiple empires on his lonesome because he fucking could. Connor killed some English blokes n called it a day
My all time favorite would always be assassin's creed 1 It has on of the best stealth plays in all the franchise and is the closest one to the mentality of the brotherhood As a player of AC1 you feel you're actually part of that cult
I miss an Altair sequel. But todays Ubisoft is greedy af so they would 100% fuck it up like they fucked up Valhalla. Shit game. I had hope when Origins came, it was fresh and great. Odyssey was a bit worse but still decent. Valhalla is just utter trash, it takes the worst things about Origins and Odyssey and makes it a part of the main storyline. I have never felt so much disrespect for the gamers playtime. Greedy shits.
Fantastic job on this one Mojo! Aveline and Evie are some of my favorite playable characters in the series ever and I am so glad they are getting recognized for their superb assassin skills. And unlike most of the other comments, I actually agree Ezio is a better assassin than Altair. Ezio overcame way tougher odds than Altair did when it came to assassinating targets in difficult locations. Most of Altair's targets and operations were pretty simple, while Ezio had to perform dozens of unique plans and strategies to get his jobs done. Say what you want about the synchronization bar or birthright, but Ezio's accomplishments as an assassin easily outmatch Altair's.
Where’s Shay Cormac in this? I know he’s a Templar but he started as an Assassin & Kassandra/Alexios & Eivor were included despite them not being Assassins.
@Bully Maguire worked with them. Killed templars and assisted the hidden ones the entire game while doing her one goals. One reigon story has the entire motivation be just killing templars
Ezio is 2nd surely but for me Altair's skills are outmatched and he is the most professional assassin, who doesn't care about anything but getting his target , when it comes to retrieve info or stealth he is superior
Kassandra should be #1… she’s basically a god, plus she’s lived for thousands of years. If anyone of those Assassins dueled her they would lose just because of her experience
Kassandra isn't a god, and she's not one of the Assassin's either - she and Alexios are descendants of the Isu, which is why the have the ability to perform feats such as the leap of faith and wield the Spear of Leonidas (Piece of Eden), so they are stronger than the average human. However, the likes of Altair, Ezio, Connor, Edward, Haytham and Desmond are all also descendants of the Isu, which is why they have the same abilities (leap of faith, Eagle Vision etc.) and are able to wield the Pieces of Eden (hence why Ezio could wield the combined power of the apple and the staff when Rodrigo Borgia could not). Even Eivor fought Kassandra practically to a stalemate, and Eivor is nowhere near the level of Altair or Ezio. As far as skill goes, Altair is definitely the #1. He was literally born into the Brotherhood and reached the rank of Master Assassin his 20s, something which no other Assassin achieved. He fought solo against literal armies of Templar Knights, the most deadly opponents in the entire franchise, and none of them ever managed to land a single hit on him. He was also able able to wield the Apple of Eden with ease, and was still active as an Assassin, even in his 90s. There is a reason why all the Assassin's who came after him consider him to the pinnacle of the Brotherhood.
there is a thing called talent, anyways in a cutscene it was mentioned Desmond weilded the skill of Ezio and the knowledge of altair. so skill wise ezio greater. but altair was wise
I have something to say about the unity part where he was talking about the romance with a assassin and templar looks bad but yet Altair married a templar if I remember right tho tell me if I’m wrong I haven’t played the EZIO games in a while
Origins is one of my favourite AC games, mainly because of that story and that Egyptian setting and definitely how much bloodthirsty Bayek was portrayed as. But I still feel like Aya should have been the protagonist of Origins rather than Bayek. Also since you diverted from mainstream games by including Aveline, let's not forget Adewale and his carrying and liberation of the slaves and finally becoming the master of WI brotherhood. Also Shao Jun bringing the whole Templar order of China down single-handedly.
People not saying Altair just never played the game I feel like or don’t know about Altair. He might not be your favorite character, but he was most definitely the most influential of all the assassins and held the greatest feats. He was never even touched in combat in his life, yet became a master assassin at the young age of 24, the youngest there ever was.
Man sod off, Edward and Bayek deserved better. Also, the idea that “revenge isn’t the creed” is completely discounted by Ezio. Ezio is always avenging his family in 2 and Brotherhood
But Ezio takes his revenge on Uberto Alberti, then calms down for years, getting skilled thanks to various assassins. Meanwhile learns about Assassins and Templars, embracing the creed and killing various Templars. Completes the Code and finds the crypt under the Sistine Chapel in order to counter Pope Borgia Alexander VI as the Templars Great Master, not his family killer. And Ezio lets the Pope alive. Instead, Bayek (that I love), kills the members of the Order only to find who is the one who killed his son
@@erminiorovani9445 What are you talking about? He spends ten years tracking down the Templars responsible for orchestrating the death of his father and brothers. He spends even longer searching for Rodrigo Borgia.
as someone who has completed 100% of achievements in Odyssey I can definitely say that it is perfectly possible to assassinate enemies on the game, as long as you set your skills properly. I'll always be fond of Bayek bc Origins was the first AC I've ever played, followed by Odyssey and Valhalla. Eivor and Kassandra hold a very special place in my heart as I care more about the gameplay than I do about the whole story 😅 interesting video to know about the other Assassins though
do people not read "by skill"? Altaïr is definitely superior, my guy was absolutely busted compared to the others in a 1v1 with a sword he'd beat literally every other one, the only advantage the others have over him is that they have guns
Perhaps but Ezio is the best balanced one. He had conceptually employed all possible methods of subterfuge, infiltration, evasion and assassination in the game, ranging from surveillance, poison, to crude form of long distance assassination, etc all the while trying to rebuild an actual brotherhood that paved the way for those that came next.. Weapons expertise is not to be underestimated, I loved how he combines the hidden blade and his hook blade skills in AC revelations and his Gun and Sword executions mash is pretty satisfying to pull off.
Excuse me!? Eivor was creative and smart. She wore the hidden blade in a non-traditional way that saved her from a Bayek situation the first time she used the weapon. It would take another 500 years before Leonardo da Vinci decoded a page of Altair's codex that altered the hidden blade to sit higher on the wrist, saving the ring finger.
I love Kassandra, but technically she's not an assassin at all. I still have stuff to do in Odyssey before attempting any Valhalla I like Evie way better than Jacob, and she's better at stealth. Clearing an area from a flagpole with throwing knifes to the head was something I enjoyed, why oh why did she lose that cloaking ability for Jack the Ripper If I could play as Aya a lot more, that would just encourage me to buy the game faster 🙄, why would they think the opposite 🤔 The first Assassin's Creed is the one I don't have on PS4 😥, heard a rumor it's getting a remake (although if true I'll probably need that PS5). I got the director's cut on Steam, but the story isn't all that different and mods seem to be lacking. Setting up the controller was a pain too. If there aren't much in the way of mods, consoles are probably the way to go here lol 😝 Shay was an Assassin in the first few sequences, but your jest putting him above Ezio had me worried. Am I glad the Ezio Collection fixed the muted dialogue for Assassin's Creed 2 Sequence 12 & Sequence 13 that I experienced on Xbox 360 👍
Have to agree with Ezio being the number one first of all he's the only character in the franchise that has more than one game where he is the main character and he is the only character that you play as in which he recruits more assassins therefore making the order bigger he's definitely a great choice to name number 1, that being said my favorite of all the games is Altair wish they would do another game that is to do with him furthermore the first assassin's creed game is in my opinion the best one out of all of them, love all of them and am excited to see what they do next

For me Altair is still the number one. He was an Assassin for most of his life and he had a synchronisation bar not a health bar, meaning he was never hit outside of cutscenes.
This is a list of assassin's creed assassins by their skill, not their life or game develaments.
What about the time Robert De Sable punched and threw him through a wall surely that counts?
@@tiagoaires7679
..that's still skill
@@tiagoaires7679
That would LITERALLY still be Altair.😂 like the OP said, He was literally RAISED in the Brotherhood.
This is also proven by the line "Desmond, armed with the wisdom of Altair and the skills of Ezio."
Ezio was the most skilled assassin.
W comment
love that the end of the comment was opinion based hehe
Except in the lore Altaïr was ever touched in combat so he still is more skilled then ezio
@@andonmartin4142 Well you said it yourself, you've no proof of Altair's superiority lore-wise. So far, Ezio stands.
Well said
I think Shay should really be considered top tier in the aspect that he is an Assassin hunter. This means he is able to counter Assassin tactics, which I believe takes a great deal of skill!
His skills were said to have grown a lot when hunting assassins and he was a templar at that point. As an assassin he wasnt that great but still very good
I agree @MariusSin
He is very skilled but the problem with him in the list is he's a templar..not an assassin
@@masonmarlatt15 To be fair, Kassandra/Alexios aren't technically assasssins either
Thats beacuse he was an assasin
Why is Altair never placed at No 1? HE IS THE ASSASSIN everyone that started early played with. He introduced the series and is the best even in Ezio’s lifetime. Started as an assassin and lived as an assassin. Ezio gets more sequels but that is the only advantage he has. Ezio is my personal favourite but if we’re talking about the best assassin, it’s Altair without a doubt.
Nope
Usman I agree with you.

Fr
Altair IS the best Assassin because the WHOLE Game IS about what IS a Assassin
3:10 Duncan Walpole wasn’t genuine. He was going to betray the Assassins to the Templars.
He was genuine because he actually WAS an assassin at that time. He hadn’t yet met the Templars even though that’s where he was headed.

Also in the hidden ones dlc he’s really the one who is setting the first rules for the brotherhood
I loved all the AC’s, and yes this does include the last 3 RPG’s. Bayek and Ezio are my favorite protagonists.
I loved Bayek as a character, Origins will still remain one of my favourites of the franchise
Bayeks the man
I loved the duality of his rage and his empathy with others, he was actually a really good character with splendid voice acting. The story has some holes and some out of place moments, but Bayek really stood out for the whole experience.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla definitely didn't feel like Assassin's Creed games but both was fun af tho. Brotherhood is #1
Valhalla has more assassin creed elements then odyssey
Of course it does. Since Odyssey was way before the hidden ones were created.
I would like to point this out the reason Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla don't feel like Assasin Creed games is because you're playing as a Spartan and a Viking both of which were known for facing there problems head-on with a blade Plus in Odyssey you aren't a assassin
Kassandra is the most skilled she lived for over 2449 years

AC1 is the first game i played, and also the best AC game imo.
Ubisoft is forgetting one important element after the two last RPG’s, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
Okay bro, Kenway in black flag is the most badass assasin the series has ever seen. He’s heartless in battle and the fact that he’s a pirate makes it even better.
You guys are missing adewale.

Skipping Shay? He was an assasin, and he actually proved to have greater skill than most of the characters in this list
When It comes to combat... I'd probably say Ezio, Edward and Connor, those guys are able of demolishing hundreds in a few mins
Nice to see my two most favorites Aveline and Evie in the top 4.
Bayek so underrated
Shay would not be a bad no.2 though honestly speaking, he has proper skills, can commandeer a ship and a fleet, effectively hunt real assassins, and takes his job as a templar seriously.
Actually the hidden blade was meant to be worn on the outside of the arm instead of the inside but was then used on the inside for better concealment and the ring finger had to be removed until it was modified so the ring finger didn’t have to be removed. Then was intended to be used inside the forearm. So technically Valhalla got it right and was the correct position for the time period

Every assassin protagonist understand the meaning but they come into a different conclusion like for example:
For ezio, he think that we are basically an architect of our own action and that we should take responsibillity whether we get a happy/tragic ending
For altair, the creed is more like fighting for your own honor and finding the truth
For edward, the creed is the beggining of wisdom that can lead him to become a better man than he was before
For arno, like the other guy said the creed was a warning to anyone
And for connor, the creed is basically a compromised that no matter how many times assassin may fall and seems lost.... they would never stop until they stop the templar in every era.
Idk about jacob and bayek since i never played syndicate and origins.
Altair should easily be 1 without a doubt, people who disagree don’t understand simple words and terms and connect an entire fantasy in their head to line up with their claims.. Bayek and Ezio are the only ones who you could put 2 and 3 depending on what you base it on
Shay can't make the list, but he is still a king. May the Father of Understanding guide him
He definitely can. He started as an Assassin & Kassandra & Eivor were included despite them not being Assassins.
for me its shay...he is so concerned to the innocent people that he even betrayed the brotherhood. Just to prove what the colonial assassins were doing was wrong..He's being true to the creed until the end

Arno deserved a way higher spot. He was definitely not flashy or theatric. After Bellec advises him to assassinate his targets in broad view, Arno distastefully declines and says he’d do it his own way. His own way happens to be a stealthier way.
This was a great video
“Eivor doesn’t even wear the blade right” Uh, Darius (the inventor of it) begs to differ

I think ezio was better. Even though Altair never took a hit, ezio was more knowledgeable. Being an assassin's for me is more of brains over bronze.
@@yes.2010 More knowledge how? Altair made the order what Ezio would come to know. Altair was the only assassin to use the Apple of Eden correctly and gained so much knowledge from it & truly understood how dangerous it was. Even tho shay was a templar he fought the corruption wich assassins normally used to fight... but when they lose their way shay uses his knowledge and skills to fight the real corruption of his timeline but in another way
Altair is no. 1 because:
These list are perfect, finally Aveline gets some appreciation,Ezio in first place as he should be,just perfect
I’m at the start and I’m without a doubt assuming Ezio and Altair are 1 and 2, nonrespectively. Edward could be around 3 due to how Black Flag ended and how skilled a captain he was too, which did aid his Assassin skills as a whole. Hopefully I’m right
Edit: I am immediately fuming at Edward’s placement, only 10 because he wasnt an Assassin for a decent chunk of the game? There are 30 Assassin contracts to complete, he is akin with the use of Hidden Blades from the start, he hunted and killed several templars, a lot of which aided by the Jackdaw. Pure horseshite so far
Edit 2: Bayek was the literal FIRST Assassin? And yes he didn’t necessarily NEED stealth but bloody none of them do. Saying it’s because Origins had a new combat system is stupid because it had a revamped stealth system as well. Wrong on many accounts so far.

He was an assassin recruit relatively new to the order, his skill level would be minimal and we didn’t get to see much of him as an assassin.
They're Proto-Assassins. What they do is lay the foundation for the ones who come next.
@@GameCastingMedia the
@Bully Maguire worked with them. Killed templars and assisted the hidden ones the entire game while doing her one goals. One reigon story has the entire motivation be just killing templars
It’s nice to see Evie get some appreciation! I feel like she’s always cast aside especially in comparison to Jacob!!
Ezio Auditore
Bayek of Siwa
Connor
Agreed. Experience trumps everything.
Kassandra needs to be put higher as she’s basically a demigod
How can you rank Ezio above Altair? Man was literally born AND raised into the Brotherhood. Like what? I question these lists choices sometimes.😂
there is a thing called talent, anyways in a cutscene it was mentioned Desmond weilded the skill of Ezio and the knowledge of altair. so skill wise ezio greater. but altair was wise
@@ebenezer8058 smells like an Ezio fanboy
Ranking assassins by their skill
* Proceeds to put peronalities and motivations above their actual skill *
I'd still go with Shay.
*This is my top:*
1.-Ezio Auditore
2.-Altair Ibn la ahad
3.-Shao Jun
4.-Shay Patrick Cormac
5.-Bayek of Siwa
6.-Connor Kenway
7.-Evie Frye
8.-Aya
9.-Edward Kenway
10.-Bassim
11.-Adewale
12.-Haytham Kenway
13.-Nikolai Orelov
14.-Arno Dorian
15.-Lydia Frey
16.-Jacob Frye
17.-Kassandra/Alexios
18.-Eivor
19.-Aveline Granpre
20.-Arbaaz Mir
you had me at Shay! xD LMAO GOOD JOB MOJO
There is no way you can have 9 assassins ahead of Edward Kenway in terms of pure skills.
I was like wtf too bro that was a hell no for me 😂😂
I have something to say about the unity part where he was talking about the romance with a assassin and templar looks bad but yet Altair married a templar if I remember right tho tell me if I’m wrong I haven’t played the EZIO games in a while
Nah bro you right, his also wrong about not putting Altaïr as number one, but i think this is already obvious
Yall really started photo mode while fighting lmao 4:02
Honestly got me so good with the Shay at number 1 😂
@@erminiorovani9445 thanks to the guidance of uncle mario
@@gvsd3 Uncle Mario is the the best non-protagonist Mentor of the saga. Loyal and sage, no one is like him
@@erminiorovani9445 What are you talking about?
U guys deviated from your own topic so soon. I thought the main question here was not about who is more of an assassin but their skills.
i enjoy watching people tear each other apart based on opinions
do people not read "by skill"?
Altaïr is definitely superior, my guy was absolutely busted compared to the others
in a 1v1 with a sword he'd beat literally every other one, the only advantage the others have over him is that they have guns
@MeVsFanboysWorshippers the worst gun out of them, which you need to load manually for one single shot before it's useless
@@andreadebernardis4390 it was the medieval times, not the old west, did anybody ever tell you to use your brain for once?
I woulda put Altair number 1 and I wouldn't have put Aya so high
Eivor didn’t want to wear it correctly. He didn’t want to hide it like the Assassins
@@Khalid-pb2ft
To be fair, Eivor already stood out enough, even without her hidden blade.
@@Khalid-pb2ft I mean she wore it the same way as Darius did, the creator of the blade
You really violated Shay like that.
I still think it's cool that the proto hidden blade model that Darius uses in ac odyssey dlc is used by eivor
calling bayek a bad assassin is just goofy.
Altair number 1, I would put Bayek second and Ezio third
Connor second, Bayek third... Altair first.
Unity is literally peak stealth
I love Kassandra, but technically she's not an assassin at all. I still have stuff to do in Odyssey before attempting any Valhalla
I like Evie way better than Jacob, and she's better at stealth. Clearing an area from a flagpole with throwing knifes to the head was something I enjoyed, why oh why did she lose that cloaking ability for Jack the Ripper
If I could play as Aya a lot more, that would just encourage me to buy the game faster 🙄, why would they think the opposite 🤔
The first Assassin's Creed is the one I don't have on PS4 😥, heard a rumor it's getting a remake (although if true I'll probably need that PS5). I got the director's cut on Steam, but the story isn't all that different and mods seem to be lacking. Setting up the controller was a pain too. If there aren't much in the way of mods, consoles are probably the way to go here lol 😝
Shay was an Assassin in the first few sequences, but your jest putting him above Ezio had me worried. Am I glad the Ezio Collection fixed the muted dialogue for Assassin's Creed 2 Sequence 12 & Sequence 13 that I experienced on Xbox 360 👍
When you said Shay Cormac I was gonna break something, the auDACITY 😤
Idk Kassandra is a deity in the end. Where there others that had no fall damage? It's crazy to compare them all
It's about who is the best at stealth and assassination, not overall feats
Have to agree with Ezio being the number one first of all he's the only character in the franchise that has more than one game where he is the main character and he is the only character that you play as in which he recruits more assassins therefore making the order bigger he's definitely a great choice to name number 1, that being said my favorite of all the games is Altair wish they would do another game that is to do with him furthermore the first assassin's creed game is in my opinion the best one out of all of them, love all of them and am excited to see what they do next
