    I'm a Liverpool fan
Liverpool vs Manchester United is one of the best rivalries in the entire world, both teams are the most successful in the UK, it's a joy to watch high scoring games, both teams can claim supremacy over the other.
    Always rivals, never enemies.

What a prophetic comment by the great commentator, Brian Moore that the replay would be a treat at Goodison Park. Many United fans often said it was one of their greatest wins over one of their rivals.
They won by a brilliant goal by the vastly underrated Jimmy Greenhoff. Both these games show how prestigious the FA Cup was in the 50s, 60s 70s and 80s when semi finals were played on neutral grounds.
And the competition envied throughout world football.
Though not a fan of either team they were full of top players in this game,
And as United have had an indifferent start to this season ( 2024- 2025) perhaps they could ask Everton if they could play their home games at Goodison Park.
As their currant crop of players seem to always shine at Goodison.
Having seen George Best, at his peak, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton in great teams often on the losing side at Everton, maybe todays players who seem to struggle at home, playing on a lucky ground might bring a change of fortune !

Replay was at Goodison Park. Similarly 6 years later between the 2 teams. 1st at Goodison Park ended 2-2 go back Maine Road where Utd won 2-1.

If footballers today played on pitches like this, they would cry like babies 👶

why did both teams wear away kit in both games ?

@@johnbarton3252I heard from many a Utd and scouse fan it was because both sides away kits were white shirts and black shorts.
Umbro produced a one off yellow kit for the scousers who wore it that day.
The first time they wore yellow.
Bith sides wearing both away kits was nothing to do with black and white tv as some would like to think.
Regardless, those were the days when the FA Cup actually meant something.

Excellent game on an awful end of season pitch. Did'nt realise how close Liverpool were to League and F.A Cup doubles on many occasions between 77 and 90 as a Liverpool fan I'm glad we got 85/86 but could have had at the very least 77/78, 78/79, 87/88, 88/89 and 89/90 all lost in either semi final/final or last league game.

I'm a united fan happy we stopped loserpool doing the treble and then went on to win the treble ourselfs in 99 marvelous 😂😂

@@jamesfitzhugh2008 I knew I'd attract a comment here if baited my hook accordingly😄. Fair play to Utd re 99 although Liverpool did achieve the European cup and Domestic league doubles in 76/77 and 83/84. To be honest, despite your issues at the moment I still have tons more respect for Utd than Oilchester City and both of us can always relax in the knowledge we are the 2 most successful English clubs which the Emptyhead stadium will never challenge.

Mocking the 70s. Maybe concentrate on the farce you are now, 2.5bn post Ferguson without a single title challenge and no CL football this season. 12 years no title and it'll be 20 before you know it.

Beaten by arsenal in a marathon semi final in 1980 and would have played west ham in the final so could have won the double that season
