A thorough guide to transferring! Hopefully this video is helpful for understanding the transfer process and how it works, and please leave me any questions below or feel free to contact me via IG or my email if you need further application assistance! XO Katie
who was the best help with the transfer process? Is it better to talk to the school I have decided to transfer to? Or should I start with the transfer office at my community college?
Definitely start with the transfer office or advisor at your community college! They'll help you figure out your general education requirements, then move onto figuring out the specific requirements for the college you want to transfer to! However, it's good to do those two things at the same time, so that way you can take classes that fulfill multiple requirements instead of having to take an excess of courses trying to fulfill all requirements
Do you happen to know if you can only transfer out if you did two years? Can it be three? I know colleges vary but I only knew like a couple months ago I wanted to transfer and I’m a sophomore rn so I’m trying to finish all my classes but I don’t know if I can on time. And I can’t talk to a counselor rn until after winter session starts. And I don’t think I have the time to mess up anymore I don’t think
That's a good question! I dont know of any colleges that have a timeframe requirement for when you have to have everything done in order to transfer. I myself took 5 years to get through community college and I still transferred! What matters most is that you have all of your requirements, and there are some classes that must be completed BEFORE your last semester of community college, so I would keep an eye out for those. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
@@TheVintageAcademic do you know how many classes??? And I thought that for the UC schools you could only transfer as a Junior. But I wanna go to pace university in ny so that’s why I was curious
@@magggmae aah I see! Well for most schools, the idea is to do you first two years at community college and then transfer in as a junior, but again it depends on the school! For the CC to UC system, that means completing all gen ed requirements, as well as the unit requirement, so I suspect that something similar exists for Pace!

@@magggmae haha thank you!! I got it on the night of their reunion show as a consolation for not getting tickets lol! I also have tickets to see them, as well as fall out biy and green day so I'm crossing my fingers the situation in the US is under control by then so we dont have to wait another year to see them!!
