Thank you for sharing this little Cub rebirth, looking forward to the next video. I think that little baby Cub has you a little tired, reminds me of night feeds of our human baby a few decades ago. A good night sleep and all will be well again.
I see there are no replaceable valve seats in those old engines. I think most newer gas engines have hardened valve seat inserts now. Do the cast iron valve seats in these engines hold up well with the modern gas we get today? I'm just wondering because I know a lot of those old tractors are still working everyday and it seems like they still run after all these years.
correct me if I am wrong but I belive that IH used the continel engine rather than an IH fngine in the cub. They also used the continial engine on balers and small combines.

You can have hardened seats installed if they are worn on these blocks. So far Ive been able to recut most of the seats with no problems.

The continental engine is about the same size but no its not the same engine.
Nice vid!! Where did you buy the engine rebuild kit? I think that is in my future with my new 1949 cub.
Thank you! got everything from Hamilton bobs, they have great prices!
Another great video! Get some sleep brother!
Yeah man definitely been burning the candles from both ends lol
Drop some heavier oil on that cutter it will thank you lol!! Don’t be afraid to use a heavy engine oil when cutting cast iron with a manual cutter
What is the brand of valve seat cutter?
Throw the points away get an electronic ignition kit . It's worth every penny.
Did the pop pistons ever end up working? I just bought some for my 1947, wondering if it might work
Im actually getting ready to post a new video very soon building a cub engine with the pop ups! But yes they work.

Sweet, I’m going to be trying that with a 1948 cub this week. I hope it doesn’t hit my head.
