3:51 The confirmed ( according to my understanding ) dialogue in this scene between R2 and 3PO is actually really sad. R2 apparently tells 3PO that Anakin “Doesn’t really talk to me anymore.”, and that “I don’t know what’s going on with him.” I think it’s pretty depressing that Anakin stopped treating R2 like his best buddy around this point, adds to his fall even more for me.
I love that Schaff refuses to rank these movies to the point where he will rank them based on anything else at all. Please rank every "I've got a bad feeling about this" from all movies
I actually cried a lot during the scene in The Rise of Skywalker when C-3PO said "Taking one last look, sir... at my friends..." because I genuinely thought that his sacrifice was gonna stay and he wasn't gonna get his memories back AT ALL. MY TEARS DIDN'T MATTER I SPENT DROPS ON THE RISE OF SKYWALKER FOR NOTHING
Nah I liked that he got his memories back but that we also saw how truly committed 3PO is to the cause and the fight. In fact it’s the only time 3PO ever seemed to care and wasn’t just complaining. Yeh it was slightly cheapened cos he got his memories back but the fact that he believed he was gonna lose all his memories and still went through with it still remains powerful, imo.
As bad as takeout deaths are, c3p0 dying in a movie as bad as Skywalker would be a crying shame, and since there is a decent chance that it would be the last live action c3p0 with the same actor, (old) it would be sad to leave have him gone not to mention it would feel very cold to have him not have a backup, it's not difficult to get a hard drive
Another nice thing about the way that happens is that it allows C3P0 to fulfill the purpose kid anakin made him for to help make the life of his loved ones easier, granted Padme could buy an army of protocol droids, but it's a nice gesture, particularly as R2 is just way more suited for the action then c3p0 is, so it's fitting when serving in the military he gets to be with him
Suggestions for random Star Wars rankings: 1. How good the lightsaber fights are 2. The use of the force 3. Costume design 4. SFX (including practical and digital) 5. The use of the Wilhelm scream 6. The use of “I don’t have a good feeling about this” 7. Worldbuilding 8. The number and variety of alien species 9. Scene transitions
"1. How good the lightsaber fights are" Easiest way to cause massive arguments here. Surprisingly lightsaber fight scenes can be an EXTREMELY divisive topic, because different people use different metrics. Someone who likes tense scenes with heavy emotional impact is going to prefer the OT, someone who prefers rapid-fire choreography meant to show the Jedi at their peak would prefer the prequels, and some neckbeard who thinks they want realistic swordfights but actually has no fucking clue about swordfighting and thus thinks it's just two people bashing at each other with sharpened baseball bats because "lOl TeChNiQuE iS jUsT fOr ShOw" is going to prefer the sequels. And NO ONE is going to be willing to back down once these preferences clash, because (with the exception of the neckbeard) they actually have valid reasons for their preferences. I personally like Episode 3 in regards to its lightsaber duels, particularly Anakin vs Obi-Wan. Yes, despite the "Jedi Rave" clip, and that's actually the only blemish on an otherwise spectacular swordfight sequence. Even with all its spins, every move in that fight has a purpose... except for the "Jedi Rave", of course. It can be difficult to pick out what that purpose is without doing a frame-by-frame analysis, but it's there.
@@eleonorepb4565 That's kind par for the course, I mean that's why I admire the clone wars crew for improving the characterization for many characters (especially Maul but that goes without saying)
That being said, I think the gag of 3PO interrupting a Han Solo and Leia Reunion might be the PERFECT joke in the whole Sequel and Prequel trilogy. The idea that you've waited decades to see Han and Leia together and C-3PO interrupting like he does the entire Empires Strikes Back is honestly amazing.
Luke was supposed to completely ignore 3po in The Last Jedi but Mark Hamill said he needed to ATLEAST acknowledge him. Once again the actors understanding these characters more than the writers and directors.
If C-3PO is a brother to Luke and Leia, does that mean he’s the last remaining sibling now. He outlived the younger ones he’s proven his dominance. He shall now inherit the true Skywalker Legacy!
I like the idea that James will rank the 9 main Star Wars movies on everything except the actual movies, I can’t wait for the ranking based on the meme lines like “Somehow Palpatine returned.” and “I don’t like sand.”
On the topic of Luke and C3PO being brothers: consider the Darksaber. -Pre Vizla starts as the rightful owner. -Maul defeats Pre Vizla in single combat, after issuing a direct challenge. He is now the owner of the Darksaber -Later in that very same episode, Maul encounters and is handily defeated by Palpatine, making Palpatine the rightful owner. -Palpatine is killed by Vader on the Death Star, making Vader briefly the rightful owner before he passes away -It can be argued that the Darksaber should then be passed to his heir, but Luke and Leia eventually both die, leaving one more descendant -C3PO has a rightful claim to the Darksaber and the Throne of Mandalore. -You can also say that Palpatine wouldn't be able to claim it, because he didn't actually kill Maul, but in that case it then goes to Obi Wan when he kills Maul in their final duel on Tatooine, and then still ends up going to Vader when he kills Obi Wan on the Death Star -"Ummm, achktually, it doesn't follow elder wand rules that's not how it works" shut the hell up, I'm having fun.
@@heisenberg6142 Honestly, following the rules like Darth Maul interpreted them might just be dumb. Maul says it's rightfully his rule, but can non-mandalorians even claim ownership?
I’ve always considered C3PO to be Luke and Leia’s brother. He’s integral to their entire life story, so adding that link makes the story of the family feel stronger.
fun fact about C3PO in RotS: in the novelization, when Anakin after his fall goes to talk to Padme something about him triggers 3PO's threat detection sensors! Out of all of Anakin's loved ones he was the first to know that something fucky was up. (also in the PM novelization its revealed that 3PO has 3 in his name because he's the third person in Anakin's family and something about that makes me want to cry-)
Honestly a big draw to this channel for me right now is lists like this, like I get such a strong sense of _"I couldn't have gotten this from anyone else"_ and y'know I really gotta respect that level of extra. Hats off.
That joke about Luke and C-3PO being brothers is really funny considering that iconic last shot of Empire Strikes Back, where they all look out the window, and the only one there who was not directly conceived by Darth Vader is R2-D2
@@mercury2157 In the OT he's at least treated as a part of the team. In Rise of Skywalker they were making jokes while he was sacrificing himself, and they all outright ignored him multiple times.
@GoodGuyJoey in the OT he gets treated like the guy everyone tolerates but no one really wants there (with the exception of like, Chewbacca) and he gets put through the wringer in AOTC and memory wiped in ROTS
It's actually kinda sad that'd the friends he'd take his last look at are the friends he had known for the least amount of time. Makes it more sad when everyone considers him annoying while he considers them friends. Poor C-3PO someone give him a decent friend and hug after the original trilogy.
Depends on what your head canon is on the balance between programming and actual sentience in droids in Star Wars. Like, 3po is programmed to essentially be a butler that serves food and translates alien languages. Is he programmed to also see his masters as friends regardless of how they treat him, or is that his own emergent personality? Maybe a lore book goes into exactly how sapient droids are, but the movies certainly don't.
At first I thought Schaffrillas was going to do a ranking on all of the animated Barbie movies. Now that I think about, he should do a ranking on all the animated Barbie movies anyway. All 42 of them.
NO! God please no. I beg you...don't ask this of him. Name your price. Because i do not want to watch it yet if he makes it i will have to watch it. :))
There is a comic about how C-3PO got the red arm, which is really sad. He wears the arm to remember a droid that died from acidic rain to protect him. Also, they had a philosophical conversation about whether or not they are a person even if their memories are erased, such as how much of their personality is intact after the memory wipe.
7:49 From what I remember, you have Mark Hamil to thank for that little moment. He insisted that Luke and 3po should have SOME kind of interaction where originally Rian Johnson didn’t plan for the two to interact at all in the movie, and thankfully he allowed it and it made it to the finished movie
I think r2 having a back up C-3PO’s memory so he can restore his memories makes sense considering r2 had to re-meet 3po his closest friend once after the prequel’s so he doesn’t wanna have to do it again
Maybe it could have been better done if R2 or C3PO told everyone beforehand that there was a backup, but that it was not all of him, and that it could go wrong. Seems like a better way of managing the stakes than 'oop he's gone, psych he's back'
I had the LEGO Star Wars game for my DS when I was a kid. There was a part of it where you could build your own character and they could have any appearance and abilities. I built C-3PO with the Emperor's force abilities and I think Darth Maul's double bladed lightsaber. I can confirm it is really fun to see him tear shit up.
I hate to say it but I do think Rise of Skywalker has his shining moment. It was nice after all this years to see C-3PO actually *do something.* And seeing him accept his rewrite in order to secure the safety of his "friends" was beautiful. Even if it was immediately retconned.
I don't even consider the retcon completely undermining the moment. As far as 3PO knew, he would never get his memory back, so the weight of the choice is still there. Plus, as much as fans complain about it being retconned, I really have a hard time imagining a scenario in which Star Wars fans would actually accept 3PO not having his memory or a 3PO death.
@@thatjedifromgallifrey6663I think it would have worked if it was treated with a little more care. I would have R2 act in ways that protected him once his memory was wiped and that would put a meaningful level in their relationship.
c3po is an incredibly important character to me because he’s the reason i fell in love with star wars in the first place, not necessarily because of his character, but simply because i went through a phase of loving robots when i was around 5, and since he’s a droid, i loved him. he may not be the most compelling character but he’ll always have a special place in my heart
I love how the 'shadow of the empire' novel ends with Luke creating the holo-message that he sends to Jabba with the droids. The novel explains some of his reasoning such as the fact that he didn't tell threepio about offering them to Jabba to make it seem like a more genuine offer
So glad to hear someone appreciating the storyteller 3P0 scene in VI as well. It gives all of the great feelings that a well-executed recap episode does in a tv show. - the audience is reminded of big moments and gets to reflect on them and the author gets a rare chance to tell the audience outright “this is important” without it coming across as too obvious - the audience gets to see the in-universe reactions to those moments from people who weren’t there, allowing for a better sense of scope and scale of the plot’s events - the main characters get more time to react to those moments again, and we get a better idea of how it made them feel and if they have undergone any changes since then
The very existence of C-3PO gives me life. Everything from his design to his acting is really fun. From the very beginning of when I first saw Star Wars he always stood out to me. Probably because he’s shining gold. Also hearing Schaff call him 3-CPO at 1:11 gave me so much life because that’s what my grandpa calls him.
6:36 now I need an AU fanfic where 3PO retains his memories from the prequels and he’s basically Leia (and later Luke’s) neurotic and protective older brother. That would be such a great dynamic to play around with.
It's literally only the final shot before Rey leaves the base, so I'm not blaming people for overlooking this. But yeah, it was the correct call to have him golden in TLJ
@@Death_Korps_OfficerIt’s legit just a tribute/nod to Metal Gear Solid’s “Big Boss”, who also had a red robot arm. It could’ve been done in a better way (like a one-off character with the red arm) that didn’t feel like a pointless appearance change for a main character.
YES same, he's my favourite too, legit the main reason I watched the original trilogy in the first place. Haven't watched the prequels but I have seen 3PO's parts in all of them lol and I even watched that arguably terrible 80's droids cartoon bc of him lol. When I saw this video pop up I was like omg YES
The story about the red arm is very heartwarming, actually. There's a video with Anthony Daniels actually telling it. Really weird how the arm was painted gold in the... 15 minutes between Episode VII and Episode VIII. And also, regarding the murder 3PO we all deserved, check out the Dr. Aphra comic.
YES! I was hoping at least someone would mention Triple-Zero! He (alongside Beetee) really deserves an on-screen appearance. There's also Creepio (from the Auralnauts youtube channel).
I remember watching a Lego Star Wars short that explained how C-3po got the red arm and I’m confident it released before the lore books that explained the arm in universe. So I like to imagine that the Lego team invented the backstory and the rest of the company went with it, since it gives real “Palpatine in Fortnite” Vibes.
@@towelclipzBasically this droid saved him but the droid that saved him rusted and broke apart only leaving his red arm. I think 3PO somehow lost his left arm too so he replaced it with the red one. But that’s all I can remember. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that story.
Something else I really like about C3PO in A New Hope and I miss in the others is that, instead of making him the annoying comic relief, he is depicted as more sarcastic and apprehensive in a way that does not seem forced.
There's a comic that explains how c-3po gets the red arm. It's actually the only bit of media that takes place in the first order era of star wars that I like. Spoilers in case anyone want to read it but It follows a group of droids stranded on a hostile planet after a recent skirmish between the first order and resistance. There are droids from both sides but they decide its best to team up to make it of the planet. The planet is dangerous though and one by one the droids get picked off until only two remain. C-3po and first order droid 0-mr1, but not without injury as 3po is already missing his arm at this point. It starts to pour corrosive rain so they find shelter, where they have a deep conversation about the nature of droid existence, whether or not they have free will, and if a droid gets their memory gets wiped could they even be considered the same individual. Realizing one of them needs to risk the corrosive rain to get a nearby signal tower activated, omri heads out. His silver paint starts melting away revealing the red primer underneath, which he doesn't remember, and ponders about when it was applied. He gets the signal up to the resistance in order to save 3po. He's damaged beyond function by the rain, but 3po is able to salvage his arm to honor his now fallen, yet new found friend.
Never forget that R2, a war hero in multiple galaxy-wide conflicts, a master tactician, and the ONLY person who could convince Luke Skywalker to take action, was not made Leia’s successor as leader of the Resistance. Also consider that without the Skywalkers, R2 and 3PO no longer have owners (a bit disgusting that the most important heroes alive are still enslaved, no?) and will likely be sold off to someone else.
@@heathb4319 hey I grew up watching Droids, because it was what little Star Wars there was at the time besides the Ewoks cartoon. Robothead can get a bit annoying, I don’t enjoy his latest videos that much anymore.
The line about C3PO joints begining to freeze makes sense. If I remember correctly, he said it during the twilight hours: deserts are really hot during the day, but freezing cols during the night.
instead of just making a star wars ranking that's been done a billion times, Schaff is truly innovating and ranking these movies in the most random way possible, and I'm all here for it 💪😤

Unironically love inconsequential and fun rankings like these, you make them get so creative! Especially since 3PO was always my favorite character, his meek and reserved self resonated a lot with child me. Can't wait for ranking MCU films for their post-credit scenes or something.
Since you brought it up, technically C-3PO being Anakin's first creation means he owns the Darksaber (Maul -> Palps -> Anakin -> C-3PO as the eldest child), and also the rightful owner of Youngslayer 3000 (Anakin -> Obi-Wan -> (gift) Luke -> Vader -> C-3PO as the eldest child). You can take different branches for these and they'll always end up back at C-3PO being the rightful owner too.
@@hefoughtabear118I disagree. R2-D2 did a lot of useful stuff in Episode II such as rescuing Anakin and Padme from their deaths in the battle droid factory and reattaching C-3PO’s head back to his correct body.

I was thinking of doing this as the creator didn't clearly label each ranking with movie title. So that was annoying. I'll just add the episode number of these ranked movies to complement the original poster's list. 9. Episode 7 8. Episode 3 7. Episode 1 6. Episode 8 5. Episode 9 4. Episode 2 3. Episode 5 2. Episode 4 1. Episode 6
1:51 there was actually a prequel comic explaining that. Basically he was sent on a mission with a bunch of other droids, and during the mission he lost an arm, later another droid dies and to carry on his legacy he takes his arm.
In terms of Luke having C3PO as part of the plan to save Han, I could definitely see Luke adding the golden lad as a way to better convince Jaba to take R2-D2 (sort of a foot-in-the-door tactic). I can imagine that a protocol droid that knows and can translate almost any language would be way more useful to a crime lord than a seemingly random protocol droid that he could get from the Jawas at any point.
This is unironically amazing, i always loved C-3PO as a character and im so glad you made this video. The scene from Empire where he turns to the camera and says "typical" has lived rent free in my head for years
Having Anakin be the one who built C-3PO always seemed ridiculous to me as a kid. C-3PO was literally just some random droid that got caught up in a big adventure in the Original Trilogy. Having him be the creation of Darth Vader adds nothing at all to his character or the story.
Big agree. And R2 should have been as important in the prequels as the astromech Obi-Wan brings with him to Kamino. George Lucas began gratuitous continuity straining star wars cameos, not Disney
I think it's neat because it is kind of pointless. It's something Anakin would only do at that stage of his innocent life and yet that innocence outlives all other forms of his legacy. There's something meaningful in that.
Personally, I think that even despite being purely appearances to make them feel more Star Wars-like, having the droids persist in all 9 movies was a good decision. It’s pretty sweet being able to see that no matter how much times changed, there were some things, just two things, the droids, that remained through it all. They were the witnesses to the space operas of multiple generations and really represented Star Wars
Also the fact that 3PO was made by Anakin kinda gives him another meaning as a watcher over his family. He was there for the little boy named Anakin Skywalker, the wife that he loved as a man, Anakin’s children, and their own creation, the new Republic
Threepio's arm has changed back from red to gold at the end of Force Awakens, if I remember correctly. He's in a crowd scene at the end with two gold arms. Someone switched out the arms during the big battle, which is always the best time to do cosmetic droid maintenance.
They actually explain the red arm in some random LEGO short 💀 Basically, he was trapped with another robot, lost his arm, the other robot gave him his arm and then got saved by Poe
I always saw Threepio and R2 as the narrators to the whole story. The two regaling the Ewoks with Luke's fight with Vader and Han's tribulations is a foreshadowing of how the story would be presented to the galaxy in years to come and eventually adapted into the film we're watching.
Legends gave 3po some much needed heroic moments. One that always sticks with me is the original marvel run where C-3PO stands between an unconscious Luke and a cyborg mercenary with a grudge against droids and people who befriended them. He then manages to talk the mercenary down by declaring Luke is his friend and he would gladly sacrifice himself for someone who’s shown him kindness.
I want you to know that I swore off watching any Star Wars related TH-cam videos YEARS ago, but this video is the one that broke that streak. You did it.
My favorite C-3PO moment is in the Lego games when you unlock that cheat to have Chewbacca carry him as a backpack forever. So endearing. Actually nvm the actual BEST moment is using C-3PO as a walking slow bomb with the droid explosion glitch that's so freaking funny hahaha
I think that Threepio was supposed to represent the average core world galactic denizen's view on the situation in Episode 3. He was blissfully unaware of what was going on despite very much being entangled in everything, and Threepio doesn't even realise fully the illegality of what he is doing until Episode 4, he actually thought he was just a diplomatic translator.
@@swe3t.dr3ams9’s was pretty garbage, look at shadiversity’s breakdown of it and it’s actually REALLY sloppy. People have problems with 2’s lightsaber fights but I don’t really get what’s so bad about it, even if it isn’t perfect

I'd honestly love to see a conversation between C-3PO and Star Trek's Data talking about humans. Both are so polite and try to understand humans as best as they can. And yes, C-3PO was a highlight of the Rise of Skywalker. That and finally seeing Poe, Rey and Fin work together.
9: Force Awakens (Here’s just there, more prominent in the poster than the film itself lol) 8: The Last Jedi (He’s in it for quite a while, but he didn’t do much despite his screentime) 7: Revenge of the Sith (He’s there, says a few lines, and he’s done. Some lines and stuff to do, but not too much) 6: Phantom Menace (He’s being created for most of the film. Once again, not doing much) 5: Rise of Skywalker (Has an arc and it’s not bad. It’s actually fairly interesting) 4: Attack of the Clones (He does some fun stuff and goes on fun adventures with R2) 3: A New Hope (A nice, iconic little introduction to one of the best characters!) 2: Empire Strikes Back (One of his most classic adventures in the franchise) 1: Return of the Jedi (He’s one of the more important characters in this film imo)
Actually in the Revenge of the Sith novel there was an extra scene (set right after Anakins raid of the Jedi temple where he goes to talk to Padme). C-3PO has a conversation about the events going on with Artoo.
There is a very clear in lore reason for 3PO to have a red arm in Force Awakens with a story behind it. It definitely wasn't made so Disney could sell more action figures of him with a significant visual difference from his previous version.
This might be nostalgia talking, but I found C-3PO funny in Attack of the Clones. The lines, "This is such a drag." As R2 is dragging his head. And, "I'm quite beside myself." When R2 got his head next to his body are just way too funny to me.
I personally believe that George Lucas wrote R2 and 3PO as the narrators of his saga…if you watch the making of Ep. IV he talks about old samurai/Japanese movies where the audience would watch the story unfold through a couple of peasants. That was the inspiration behind these two characters-which adds lore and realism to the universe as this essentially makes one consider droids as second-class citizens, property of their “makers”. I, however, think that this worldbuilding idea is why R2 & 3PO are so beloved. They start out as mechanized servants (R2 was one of several droids on Queen Amidala’s royal cruiser; then later retained as her personal astromech when she became Senator-conversely 3PO was built by Anakin to assist his mother [themselves also slaves🤔]), and ultimately they become trusted and true family to their owners. I always think of them that way-members of a disregarded-often-mistreated sect of this massive society, who prove themselves invaluable, even outright the “secret weapon” that allows the outgunned rebel heroes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Palpatine clearly has no regard for droids (See Ep. III) and that overconfident underestimating of what he views as lesser beings provides the keys to dismantling the seemingly all-powerful regime of tyranny he worked for years to erect! I also LOOOVEE 3PO in AOTC…he cracks me up every time!
What i like in Empire about Han and C-3PO is that Han does, on a very small level, appreciate his input. The scene where 3PO suggests checking something but Han initially blows him off until hes talking to Chewie later and, after glancing back at the droid to be sure hes not listening, tells chewie to check what 3PO suggested. Just something so small thay adds to that charm. Sure, Han may not like 3PO but he does value his input. Even if its small.
I’m sad you didn’t mention both my favorite Threepio moment and Star Wars deleted scene, when he tricks the Snowtroopers into getting attacked by the wampa in Empire.
So glad this was made!! 3PO has always been a favourite of mine and I'm glad he's getting some attention here. I read Anthony Daniels's "biography" earlier this year and he is just such a nice guy. And I love the fact that you called him by Jar Jar's nickname
i think he's a nice guy too but I'm curious as to why some people don't like him because always say he's an "asshole" to them in cons and stuff when they don't give actual evidence if that actually happened or not
Okay so I just clicked on the video and haven’t watched it yet but I just wanted to say up front: This is a hilarious and awesome concept for a video, and I love the way your mind works to do something like this 😊

Yes I agree
"1. How good the lightsaber fights are"
Easiest way to cause massive arguments here.
No Joke: Anthony Daniels tried to pitch ideas to George for heroic 3PO moments and George tells him "He's Always Scared." everytime.

On the topic of Luke and C3PO being brothers: consider the Darksaber.
-Pre Vizla starts as the rightful owner.
-Maul defeats Pre Vizla in single combat, after issuing a direct challenge. He is now the owner of the Darksaber
-Later in that very same episode, Maul encounters and is handily defeated by Palpatine, making Palpatine the rightful owner.
-Palpatine is killed by Vader on the Death Star, making Vader briefly the rightful owner before he passes away
-It can be argued that the Darksaber should then be passed to his heir, but Luke and Leia eventually both die, leaving one more descendant
-C3PO has a rightful claim to the Darksaber and the Throne of Mandalore.
-You can also say that Palpatine wouldn't be able to claim it, because he didn't actually kill Maul, but in that case it then goes to Obi Wan when he kills Maul in their final duel on Tatooine, and then still ends up going to Vader when he kills Obi Wan on the Death Star

If he can even really call them Freund's.

Bro, that would be literal hell.
The idea of a kick ass 3PO was actually done in a Lego Star Wars mini movie and it was beautiful. We deserve to see something like that in live action
Finally someone mention it
There is a comic about how C-3PO got the red arm, which is really sad.
Good point, it makes sense
Maybe it could have been better done if R2 or C3PO told everyone beforehand that there was a backup, but that it was not all of him, and that it could go wrong. Seems like a better way of managing the stakes than 'oop he's gone, psych he's back'
They did mention beforehand there was a backup. I like to think R2 eventually also restored his memories of Anakin
It was nice after all this years to see C-3PO actually *do something.*
And seeing him accept his rewrite in order to secure the safety of his "friends" was beautiful.

- the audience is reminded of big moments and gets to reflect on them and the author gets a rare chance to tell the audience outright “this is important” without it coming across as too obvious
- the audience gets to see the in-universe reactions to those moments from people who weren’t there, allowing for a better sense of scope and scale of the plot’s events
- the main characters get more time to react to those moments again, and we get a better idea of how it made them feel and if they have undergone any changes since then
It’s scary how much this video is catered to me as a major C3PO fan
The very existence of C-3PO gives me life. Everything from his design to his acting is really fun. From the very beginning of when I first saw Star Wars he always stood out to me. Probably because he’s shining gold.
Also hearing Schaff call him 3-CPO at 1:11 gave me so much life because that’s what my grandpa calls him.
6:36 now I need an AU fanfic where 3PO retains his memories from the prequels and he’s basically Leia (and later Luke’s) neurotic and protective older brother. That would be such a great dynamic to play around with.
I have to write this someday!
I need to read that fanfic!
To be fair to the Last Jedi, C3PO had a golden arm again at the end of Force Awakens. So he had the red arm for like 2 or 3 scenes
It's literally only the final shot before Rey leaves the base, so I'm not blaming people for overlooking this. But yeah, it was the correct call to have him golden in TLJ
So the existence of the Red Arm is even more pointless than the Sequels themselves

What was the explanation for the red arm?
@@towelclipzBasically this droid saved him but the droid that saved him rusted and broke apart only leaving his red arm. I think 3PO somehow lost his left arm too so he replaced it with the red one. But that’s all I can remember. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that story.

Fun fact, in the Spanish dub C-3PO is called Sir Tripio and R2-D2 Arturito (or Lil Artur) giving it for me more of a medieval theme for their names
There's a comic that explains how c-3po gets the red arm. It's actually the only bit of media that takes place in the first order era of star wars that I like. Spoilers in case anyone want to read it but
It follows a group of droids stranded on a hostile planet after a recent skirmish between the first order and resistance.
The Lego TFA game also had an adaptation of this story as a dlc, which I think is pretty cool. I wish he kept that arm throughout the trilogy tho.

I think C3PO being built by Vader himself is really cool

They actually explain the red arm in some random LEGO short 💀
Basically, he was trapped with another robot, lost his arm, the other robot gave him his arm and then got saved by Poe
They also explained it in a comic
If C-3PO and Luke are brothers then that means that the kids of whoever invented Alexa have millions of siblings.

I think that Threepio was supposed to represent the average core world galactic denizen's view on the situation in Episode 3.
The only question is, how DID he have time to replace it?
@13:45 "I'm on a strict all-corn diet"
America moment
Finally- a respectable metric through which we can properly grade media!
This might be nostalgia talking, but I found C-3PO funny in Attack of the Clones. The lines, "This is such a drag." As R2 is dragging his head. And, "I'm quite beside myself." When R2 got his head next to his body are just way too funny to me.
I love how more and more obscure the Star Wars rankings are getting lol maybe do one by character quotes next?
I wouldn't be surprised if he made a video about how well the movies use Lightsabers or something like that.
As a guy who has only watched one SW movie, i find this very informative
Which one?
@@definitelynot_tfol36 i think it was eiter LAst Jedi or Rise od Skywalker

This is all you need
I’m sad you didn’t mention both my favorite Threepio moment and Star Wars deleted scene, when he tricks the Snowtroopers into getting attacked by the wampa in Empire.
Okay now rank how well each individual clone is used in each episode of TCW
So glad this was made!!
3PO has always been a favourite of mine and I'm glad he's getting some attention here.
I read Anthony Daniels's "biography" earlier this year and he is just such a nice guy.
And I love the fact that you called him by Jar Jar's nickname
i think he's a nice guy too but I'm curious as to why some people don't like him because always say he's an "asshole" to them in cons and stuff when they don't give actual evidence if that actually happened or not
Okay so I just clicked on the video and haven’t watched it yet but I just wanted to say up front:
This is a hilarious and awesome concept for a video, and I love the way your mind works to do something like this 😊
Idk if you’ll ever read this but a cute detail about the ending of aotc is that 3PO and R2 were wedding gifts, with padme giving R2 to anakin, and anakin giving 3PO to Padme
