A lot of people don’t talk about it because after spending time and money on version 4 you get an email saying it’s been cancelled (Mac version) - not the first of their apps (any platform) to get cancelled after they sell you a load of packs for it. To top things off, they announced the cancellation of mac one day after the trailer for 5 came out. They could have at least announced it in the development stage. It’s like they were like “crap, we still have this bug but we’ve already fired our free lance mac developer…. Cancel the whole mac line”
I got 4 a couple of months before 5 and it wants in their window to get this update. Needless to say, I'm not buying it a second time or paying the upgrade price when I already own it. I cant believe they won't upgrade you within a year or 6 months of buying it.

Buyer Beware. Cartoon Animator is far from easy to use though they want it to look that way, it is not user friendly. Be prepared to invest lots of time in learning animation and drawing and movement work and GOOD luck trying to get things to work that ought to be push button simple. LIKE the LOOP button!

I know because a lot of my own content gets used in these videos. Juts because you personally are having trouble learning the software, does not mean the experience is the same for others. When you say "be prepared to invest lots of time in learning animation", you are 100% correct. THat would be the case with any animation software or any new skill you want to learn. But be prepared to invest lots of time in learning drawing and movement? Not at all. Cartoon Animator uses a cut-out rigged puppet system for creating animated characters, meaning you can build characters from existing art or even photos. So you dont need to be able to draw at all to animate. And the 2D Marketplace has thousands of well priced packs that contain actors, backgrounds, props , effects and more. If you invest some time into the software, you can get amazing results. And fast!
What's better, CA5 or Blender Grease Pencil. I own both, but I only have time to learn one. It seems like Blender is more powerful but takes more time.
If you want to animate frame by frame then use Blender GP. If you want to use pre rigged characters using 2d and 3d motions the go for CA5. Using a motions for a walk cycle in CA5 only takes you 3 seconds.
Keyframes are used to create changes in movement. To loop them, you can just copy and paste those keyframes along your time. Or you can save the motion you create using Collect CLip and apply that same motion over and over, or even to a completely different character. Its a huge time saver.
You can create all your own custom characters in Cartoon Animator. But you need to rig them for Cartoon Animator. Not a difficult process. I say that because I have created over 500 characters for this software.
This is just a hype video for the software. In reality, You will need other digital resources to create video. The learning curve is the size of a mountain.
I mean, I guess. I got things working right away. Yes, it is clunky but for me it was mostly wrapping my mind around creating characters using a cutout style mindset

So true. People who say "this is the best" are really saying "this is the one I prefer." The BEST animation software is the one that does the job you want fast and efficiently. All the software options out there have their pros and cons. Its seems limiting to yourself and others by not acknowledging that.

I hate this software . u cannot do what ever u want everything is already made . No creative no ideas nothing just drag and drop . add to that it is very heavy for pc ,big size etc . Moho has amazing features with 460 mb setup size .
You can import original art in a .psd file. You were probably trying to move too fast and became impatient or frustrated. Perna),i feel that programs like this and toon boom harmony are fucking dinosaurs and both programs UI looks like they were made in 1993
Well thats simply not true at all. That seems like an untruth you are trying to spread just because you dont like the software. Of course you can do whatever you want. And I do! You can create all your own characters and rigs. And I do! You can create all your own layered backgrounds. And I do! You can create all your own props. And I do! No creative ideas? I hope they come to you soon.

Well, it just so happens to be that my interest in animation comes from my desire for world domination.

Looks like they forgot to make it available for MAC OS.

iClone and Cartoon Animator are two completely different software packages. One is for 2D animation and one is for 3D.
