In theory, in 2D cut out animation you can animate without rigging, but it's simple animations. Before all these softwares existed, when we only worked with Flash or After Effects, even before learning to use bones, we did rigging by simply moving the rotation point (although I don't remember from what year you could do that) at the time we simply moved the pieces like that and we still do it, even today in softwares like "Harmony" (In the context of simple animations) without the need to place "bones or deformers"... the only thing we worried about was knowing the order of the layers and planning the animation. Guys, a tip for newbies, cut out animation is planned, that implies knowing when to do the drawing replacements, if possible, make a traditional rustic animation or an animatic to know what the correct time and spacing is, but a well-made animatic, where the movements are correctly shown (blocking), an idea to understand this, you can study how 3D animators work... the reason why many newbie cut out animations look clumsy and slow is because it was not planned enough. Greetings.
Probably has been said before here but knowing how to set joint limitations & knowing which exact parameters make or break say a wrist or a thumb or an ankle or a hip or a - well, you get the idea. Such parameters also very depending on what type of animal you're rigging. Having a generic human rig & generic 4-legged & 2-legged (bird) rigs sets of parameters that can be stretched when needed would be fantastic options.
Hi Mark! Great video! I'm looking forward for the new one! And yes, rigging may be difficult but when you want to achieve something so badly and you know you can do it, nothing is going to stop you from getting there. Right now I'm working on an animation with my own drawn characters and after watching a lot of your tutorials I finally got it and rigged it! My first original character!!! That was just step 1. What I'm struggling to understand and make right now is how to make the clothes move, just like the character in Lucky Planet is moving so nice her dress. My character is a male and I would like to make his shirt longer, over his legs, but when he moves he looks stiff. As for the bootcamp...looking forward!!!
Congratulations! I am looking forward to sseeing your progress Simona! Please keep me posted on Discord! and post it in the channel for other students to see if possible, this is GREAT. For the clothing that is something I will cover in the bootcamp, because that always depends on the goal you have and how you want it to look like.
If I can only buy one should I buy the Speed Rigging course OR the Rigging Mastery Course??? thanks Also I need help in one of my courses I bought. what is the contact info I can send my issue to?
Depends. If you want to rig characters quickly, then SPEED RIGGING. if you don’t care about doing it fast, you can take your time, and what matters for you is to create unbreakable rigs that can do most anything, then RIGGING MASTERY
Do you know how to have a proper iris rigged to work well? If so, just fix it in your own rig. I say this because this problem seems to be because there might be a problem with the different eyes, modes and rig system that the Clown has.
Hello. A few days ago I bought Carton Animator 5. Please explain to me if there is a template or tutorial how to rotate my character around the axis 360 degrees (not the head but the body). I searched too much on the internet, but I didn't see a satisfactory explanation. Please, this is urgent. Thank you.
Hi Mark, you are better viewing than Netflix. I want to ask you whether it is possible to use the premade horse rig for example and then to add more joints in the neck section. I am trying to build a Giraffe with a very flexible neck.
I haven't tested that, but if I needed a Giraffe, I would just create one with FREE BONES, and have it exactly the way I want it. With free bones, you can rig anything you want, even that Giraffe with a very flexible neck
Can you make a very very simple svg and psd template? With just one pair of eyes, nose, mouth, hands, really, one that we will only need to change one and no need to hide the rest truly beginner friendly
Actually - in my case- it’s terrible - because it’s not available for Mac. So bummed. Went to buy it and couldn’t. Brand new Mac Studio… Brand new Mac Pro… both just in. And Can’t use this. Will need to use Moho but this looks so much better. Sad
I don't want to comment negative just stay on the topic 13 minutes i spent on your video you to know about your friends work and the paid rigs and yeah Unnecessary Evil is repeated so many times that took out the funny part that you tried to make... Have fun
animate every body part seperatly and use green screen and export it to mp4. you want him running you use the mp4 with tje greensscreen with the running legs . you want him to crap something ? you get the idea. just make hundreds of mp4 movements of body parts in greenscreen. after that you can make 1 hour animations in 30 minutes if you want just drag and drop mp4 videos 😂😂😂😂
This dude and the Ozze one! They sell tool much talking and never get to the point. Too much content store promting and no fooking teaching. The third guy who does tutorials is amazing and straightforward.
Bro, really? i've waited so much and you don't show anything in this video? respect your viewers attention span time, i can only watch so many tutorial videos a day without fritzing, this made you look like a scammer, i dont even want to know anymore.

@@christianmeza4941 It's called "Don't recommend channel" button, it would fine if it was just a minute sales pitch but 8 damn minutes.
I'd love to create characters in Inkscape and put them into CA5. What's stopping me? Having time to learn.
Would buying CA5 have any manuals/guides?

Great program which recently got really better.
I tried rigging fast but for some reason the Iris isn't moving. I basically took the Clown character and replaced the sprites with my own.
Did you use a Premade Rig? Or did you rigged from scratch?
@@2DAnimation101 I used the clown character included in CTA5 and replaced the parts with those I made in illustrator.
