lol you must be a Richmond local :P I went to a place in the mall too but the guy working (presumably the owner) didn't seem like he would have appreciated a camera in there!
I just got an Electric blue jack dempsey and 2 Electric blue acara. Also got a snow white parrot. They are so tiny! Hopefully going to be a great adventure in this new tank. Looking to add some Geo's as well.
Congratulations on the new additions! I love my EBJD. I think the acaras are gorgeous too but I didn't want to deal with breeding. I didn't know parrots could come in white! Then again I only recently found out they're a "hybrid" fish so obvious I don't know much about them haha. If geos will fit into your crew/tank I definitely recommend them! They have been so fun to watch
@@Lauraetceterahoping this will be a nice tank. Our others are quite happy. I am looking at getting a few Sevrum as well. I kept Discus before, so wanting something new. Our other fish are getting quite old now, the Angels are about 10 years old now, and it's been fun picking out the next adventure.
Great looking tank! First of all, the pothos won't do well in water. When people talk about having them in aquariums they mean they can be put in water but only with the roots submerged, which looks awesome with some plants growing out of the tank too. When the whole plant is in water it will start to rot and melt which can be dangerous for the fish in the tank. Next the geophagus often are recommended to keep in groups of 6 or more, to spread out aggression. Also keep an eye on the green terror, they can really get aggressive but as you seem to have a backup plan if something doesn't work out that's great. The bristlenose pleco looks female to me, because I think they should have started growing bristles at that size. Just some tips if you weren't aware already :)
Thanks so much! I have pothos in other tanks (roots only) and have had success, but was intrigued when I saw someone else who had a plant completely submerged and growing well. Maybe it's a conditional thing? Either way I'm giving it a go, and if it starts to yellow, out it will come! I was wondering on the geos, if I should order a couple more to round out that group. The 4 seem OK so far, but as any fish keeper knows, that can always change! I would have gotten more off the bat but the store only had these 4. Have you owned them before? What do you think of geos? Haha my 5 year old says the pleco is a female, lol. The kids named it "Sunshine" ^_^ Thanks for watching!
@@Lauraetcetera I haven't owned them, but as with almost all cichlids and many other fish too, if you are going to keep a group a decent sized one would be good since a smaller group like this will have trouble forming a stable hierarchy. Geophagus are most of the time pretty peaceful, and if it works out that's good but a bigger group will have a higher chance of success and you won't have to deal with aggression as much.
I've actually already added more plants since this video lol; I'm a bit of a plant addict! I'm not sure if you follow father fish but he does live show & tells on Wednesday nights of tanks, I'm going to try and get on there this Wednesday if you're curious about how it looks now ^_^ But to answer you question, kind of both...? It will be heavy with plants but I like to have the filters "just in case", especially since I've never owned large fish so not sure what to expect with their bioload.
@Lauraetcetera thanksbi also just started a 125 gallon FF tank and still learning. I have 1 more week with the lights on 24/7. I used 2 of his 59$ plant bundles and I have Dustin's plants $99 tank bundle coming in tomorrow.
better to get a few kissing fish or one or 2 flag tail prochilodus to eat algae because pelecos really dont eat algae they are meat eaters and are catfish but the pelecos are good fish to keep and when they get large they are able to defend themselves against larger fish by raming themselves into them with their hard armor
@@charitybrook6279 yay I'm so glad to hear that!! Be weary of the "haters"; people definitely have strong opinions on it but I have really been loving it so far in 3 tanks, and this is after keeping them "traditionally" for years prior. I'd love to see a photo of your set up!
@@Lauraetcetera I don't know how to post pictures here but I try to never let people discourage me from trying new things 😊 I'm even trying to grow pothos fully submerged in my tank. No leaf loss so far.
@@charitybrook6279 You'd have to email me a photo or post it to your channel. No worries though! that's a good attitude to have :) Never let anyone steal your joy! Do keep me updated on the pothos; I'm trying it too and will definitely keep that updated on here.
I've always found fish to be so calming. Whenever I had a bad day, I would go stand by the aquarium and watch the fish. It worked every time! 😊❤
They sure are. Cheaper than therapy!
Nice to see the fishes 🐟🐠 congratulations on purchasing the tank, you have done a great set up. 🌸🌼🌸😊Maria
Thanks so much Maria! ❤
Awesome tank! You will love the red head tapajos! Amazing fish!
Thank you!! They really grew on me. I wasn't sure about geos but they are quickly becoming a favorite!
This is going to be a beautiful tank. Can’t wait to see it develop 💜💜
Me too!! Just added more plants today :P I might have to take out the jack dempsey though, he's being a bully!
Awesome job on setting up your tank. Fish are so calming to watch. 👋👍💜🐠🐟
I completely agree! ❤
Crazy to see a pet store I’ve been to in a TH-cam video
Scratch that 2 fish stores
Update three

LOL I have to laugh that of all the fish, you comment on the cat! haha but I have to agree, an absolutely sweetie

Hard to hear your audio with the music over it (at least with earbuds in) but great looking tank.
on no sorry about that!! I'll be more mindful in the future. Thanks for watching and your complement about the tank! I appreciate it
