- In this video, we go and buy the absolute worst aquarium we could find on Facebook marketplace. We brought our fish tank back to Dallas North Aquarium, where we prep it, clean it, set it up on display, and give the aquarium away, all within less than 48 hours!

About 3 years ago, I got out of the hobby but never got rid of my tanks. I don't know why, but the wife was like, "What are you doing with the tanks?" I said they were staying, and she said that if you're not going to use them, they need to go. I have no idea why I even keep them in the first place, but in my area, 75 gallons are hard to find with a sump setup anyways. I ignored her for the longest time because I just knew I was going to use them for something, but I didn't know what. But I had been planning it in my head for the longest-what I wanted to do and my vision of how I was going to make them look. My dad had stage 4 cancer, and one day I was sleeping, and I woke up, and she was like, "What are you doing?" ium fixing the tanks today, she's like today! I'm like, "Yes!" today! She's like they haven't been running in 3 years. I said I don't know why, but they need to be up. So I'm resealing them, buying sand, buying a new lid, and just redoing the UV sterilizer. everything I could touch or paint to make it look amazing, and I think it was because my dad told me to. In my dream, witch is weird, but I work up and I'm like, "I'm doing the tanks; I didn't even want to, but I just knew I had to." I still can't explain why, but it was one of the things I and he enjoyed. I used to hook him up with all types of fish, and he had like 2 or 3 55-gallon tanks. I must say, I do enjoy having the tank back up and running again. It looks amazing, and it is some of the best work I have done yet. I went with Malawi Mbuna, which was also one of my plans. I think the fish look amazing. My 75-gallon tank is already up and running, and I've been planning my 55-gallon tank with a new canister filter and painting the tank's sand landscape. I'm not sure why I need two tanks; one is plenty.
We discovered that shop decades ago when I was a child. The staff made a lifetime impact on my life. I only had a 35 gallon tank but we had tons of species in it with their help. Still the best tank I’ve never had. Soon I’ll be setting up two 55 gallon tanks to be heavily planted freshwater tanks in our house and I will be making a trip all the way to Dallas for their help to stock it.

Such a great story I just went through the cancer thing with both of my parents dad then mom about a year ago .... She had a big tank we used to enjoy... I'm currently trying to buy a used aquarium near me ... But it's hard being only one working and also custody of my nephew but was an awesome video

Great video man!! I recently road tripped to Dallas from OKC a few weeks ago to buy my first “like-new” 75 gallon saltwater setup and unfortunately I was sold a chipped tank that I was told on Reef2Reef would not likely hold water much longer. I stopped by the Dallas North Aquarium store on my way home and realized I should have bought a setup from there. Guess ya live & learn but I really wish I would have bought a nice refurbished setup like the one you prepared. Well done FritzFam🔥🔥

My uncle gave me a 15 year old aquarium 100 gallon for free because he thought it was worth nothing but I thought I could use it for a nice aquarium so right now I have it in my garage and I’m trying to fix it up the wood is cracked on it but not the glass😀 so it should not leak I’m so excited to get it fixed up
