Allan Wade has a great teaching style. By exploring, being vulnerable and finding things out as he goes along, he really shares how to explore and learn first hand. Thank you Allan!
I have learned more in this video than "playing" with my machine for four hours..... this has been amazing!!!! Thank you so much!! I don't feel so overwhelmed.
Two ways to delete extra points quickly; 1, to select multiple points, hold shift and hold left mouse button to draw a box around multiple points. Then delete. 2; select one point, you don't need to right click and hit delete. Just hit the delete key on your keyboard. And it will go to the next. You can keep hitting delete to delete multiple points in a row.
Thanks for the very informative information. I looking to buy one. 19 years ago I brought the Cricut machine, I made one thing and boxed it up never used it again. I finally gave it to my granddaughter a year ago. Hopefully she will have more fun with it. The Cameo seems easier to use.
" I should be looking at the instruction booklet, but hey......." Yup. Good man. Throw away the book and wing it like the rest of us, ignoring all the recovered documents in studio software like a true pro. Real world video 👍
Thanks for this tutorial and explorative video Allan. It seems everyone talks too much before starting, you talk while going through it, makes it so much more understanding.
Thank you so much for being so detailed and not doing a lot of extra talking. I just bought a cameo on Sunday and was thinking about returning it because I couldn’t make the 1st cut. I’ll be watching more of your videos for help. Thanks again
One way to remove the excess nodes is to 'make compound path' on the same editing screen as the nodes. A png image has pixels which are creating the jagged edges.
I am new to t-shirt making.. Lord willing I just purchased my camero machine, heat press and some vinyl. I am really excited and nervous. But I am going to pray and give it a try.
Thanks for the info ! I just purchased one today and have no idea how to use it so doing my research now. I'm wanting to use it to cut vinyl. I have yet to get the heat press.
When using the points, use the Simplify in the points edit box to delete a lot of the points without having to delete one by one. It makes it much easier.
Great5 video, I purchased the Cameo 4 Business edition a few weeks ago but have not used it as yet. I haven't used it as yet as I have not set up my area for it to be placed and also the idea of using it is a little daunting, as I am not tech savvy. I am doing my research first and came across this video, very good explanation of the process, thank you.
Thank you so much for giving me a little confidence to get my brand new Cameo 4 out and give it another go 😜. I had wanted one for over two years and went on amazon so, so many times to purchase it and just always chickened out thinking it would just be a waste of money. Then to my surprise my mother n father had known how bad and for how long I’ve wanted one so they completely surprised me for my Birthday back in November 2019 yes November and I have yet to cut anything out. All I’m mostly wanting to make are just text quotes and one word such as Farmhouse etc to cut on vinyl to transfer onto wood, then maybe learn to do the same to cut on heat transfers to make shirts. I know this Cameo can do and cut so many things but yet I can’t seem to feel confident enough to figure grouping words for a sign or just one word lol... Hopefully, I can do it this weekend for sure thanks to you. Fingers crossed and new subbie here 🙋🏻♀️
I have the cameo 3 and have constantly fought with HTV without a mat. It is challenging at times because of those pinch rollers. That new cutter at the rear is an awesome addition as well as the feed roller. I still think the feed roller could use work, but I had to pay extra for mine on the 3
Not sure if you figured this out but you can get rid of the dots and make them smooth by selecting the image and clicking "detach lines". It's on the right side in the same menu where "subtract all", "divide", "weld", etc.. is. It will make your edges smooth.
When selecting the points hold shift when selecting them to that way you delete them all at once but before you click your first point hold shift and don’t let it go until you select your last point you want to erase, also while having those points selected you should be able to “select similar” not too familiar with the program yet. But we learn as we go and we learn from each other
You can flip your design in the software and it prints or cuts the correct way and you don't have to roll your vinyl... I just picked up my machine yesterday and haven't unboxed it yet 🤩
receiving the heat transfer vinyl gloss side out protect the vinyl from damage, its irritating that it curves the other way, but i would rather that than damaged corners pulling up or scratches/slices in the vinyl itself. I apologise if you werent looking for an explanation as to why they do it
I watched your video and was not as confused as with others. THANK YOU! However I still haven't even done anything with my Silhouette Cameo 4 other then take it out and get stressed. There's an Android app for Silhouette Studio but it seems like it has a bad UX, according to the reviews (I haven't tried it yet).
