To delete the unneeded points, just click the simplify option once you have all the points showing.

  • @bobfitzpatrick6061

Two ways to delete extra points quickly; 1, to select multiple points, hold shift and hold left mouse button to draw a box around multiple points. Then delete.
2; select one point, you don't need to right click and hit delete. Just hit the delete key on your keyboard. And it will go to the next. You can keep hitting delete to delete multiple points in a row.

Thanks for the very informative information. I looking to buy one. 19 years ago I brought the Cricut machine, I made one thing and boxed it up never used it again. I finally gave it to my granddaughter a year ago. Hopefully she will have more fun with it. The Cameo seems easier to use.

One way to remove the excess nodes is to 'make compound path' on the same editing screen as the nodes. A png image has pixels which are creating the jagged edges.

When selecting the points hold shift when selecting them to that way you delete them all at once but before you click your first point hold shift and don’t let it go until you select your last point you want to erase, also while having those points selected you should be able to “select similar” not too familiar with the program yet. But we learn as we go and we learn from each other

Thank you so much for giving me a little confidence to get my brand new Cameo 4 out and give it another go 😜. I had wanted one for over two years and went on amazon so, so many times to purchase it and just always chickened out thinking it would just be a waste of money. Then to my surprise my mother n father had known how bad and for how long I’ve wanted one so they completely surprised me for my Birthday back in November 2019 yes November and I have yet to cut anything out. All I’m mostly wanting to make are just text quotes and one word such as Farmhouse etc to cut on vinyl to transfer onto wood, then maybe learn to do the same to cut on heat transfers to make shirts. I know this Cameo can do and cut so many things but yet I can’t seem to feel confident enough to figure grouping words for a sign or just one word lol... Hopefully, I can do it this weekend for sure thanks to you. Fingers crossed and new subbie here 🙋🏻‍♀️

receiving the heat transfer vinyl gloss side out protect the vinyl from damage, its irritating that it curves the other way, but i would rather that than damaged corners pulling up or scratches/slices in the vinyl itself. I have the cameo 3 and have constantly fought with HTV without a mat. It is challenging at times because of those pinch rollers.

That's funny you just said about the cameo 4 and the way the vinyl is rolled because it gets hung up on the opening lip and cause a jam. I know 🤣 pissed me off twice. I just did exactly what you did before I saw this video. I also put the image about 2.5 inches further down with no mat because everytime it moves back up to the top, the vinyl has a chance of jamming on that lip. I may just make something. It also wants to get caught on the back part also. They should roll it the other way when packaging.

It’s package to protect the transfer side. That’s why the shinny part is exposed when you get it. You welcomed.

It’s generally the same. The only thing different is the machine. Treat them like the same machine and you shouldn’t have an issue.

I have a 3 and I have the vinyl feeder roller attachment... I hardly use it. I use 15" rolls and just cut out 3 inches more than I need and let it hang down. I make sure it's straight and never have an issue

I was going to say the same thing and it is also that way so that the oil from your skin doesn't affect the transfer so that it adheres to the fabrics properly.

Returned mine, the mat kept shifting during the print. Yes I had it clamped down. It worked fine for 1 day. Then constant shifting. Cameo 4 doesn't limit the size of print and cut like cricut. That's why I wanted the silhouette, but I wasted a lot of cardstock working with it. I'm done with both products for good.

I would think that the Vinyl should have a recommended cut setting on the materials packaging. Do they? I see a lot of these video's where people are guessing what the cut depth setting should be. To me that seems like a very important piece of information that should be in large print somewhere on every package of HTV! Something like, Cut Depth should be set to 6mm or 5mm, if you don't set your cut setting correctly then you may destroy the HTV material' ect!! Sounds reasonable right!

    • @Ghostfanofurs
      @Ghostfanofurs ปีที่แล้ว

Good point but unfortunately each machine requires different cut settings for whichever type material. The software is great as it lists types for you to select.

    • @adubbproductions

Heat transfer warehouse has recommended cut settings. I have settings that I use that work for me for regular vinyl but cut setting don’t matter when your boards gets dull and you have to adjust for not having a blade on hand and you have to fulfill am order. The best thing you can do for yourself is have the ability to figure out cut settings on your own in situations like what I just mentioned. It’s to every businesses benefit to be able to trouble shoot when they have any type of issue or your business might be at the mercy of relaying on someone else’s bold printed instructions. You don’t want that. Learn the equiptmet and how to adjust when things go wrong. Trust me, things will always go wrong. But yea, a-lot of vinyl comes with recommended cut settings either on a sticker on the vinyl (which will get lost after you use it a few times) or on the company’s website.
