Absolutely love your podcast. One suggestion on small needles. Be careful about using them for your second sleeve as I find that with the small circumference needles, the gage changes quite a bit from the gage with magic loop. I think I would continue the second sweater with the same technique as the first and save the small needles for another project. Diane
I actually recommend measuring about triple the length of the swatch for the yarn when you make it to the end of the row. Then instead of leaving it dangling behind the swatch, knit the yarn you measured, so you'll have a short loop at the end and no yarn dangling at the back. On the next row, you'll knit from your ball of yarn again. And then repeat - measure the yarn and knit the measured part. I found this to work out better for getting a flat in the round swatch since the strands at the back can skew the gauge.
I’m knitting the DRK Everyday Sweater now! The pattern is really nice/easy to follow and it is turning out beautifully.😊 I’m really happy with the fit after a few less successful knits. I just have the bottom ribbing left. The colour you chose is beautiful. Can’t wait to see yours!
Love the color of your stick season sweater!! Aurelia pullover will be stunning in that color. Hope you can finish your gift pillow in time. Have a good week❤
Hello Amy! Love your Stella cushion! The thing with joining the triangles is definitely something that is happening to me in the Sweet shop: I reckon the first couple of squares it was probably me just not paying attention to when I picked. It is funny you mention this today too. Although to be honest, if you hadn’t said it I wouldn’t have noticed it at all 🤩 Also big respect to you with the Aurelia pullover 🫡
About the DRK Everyday sweater, that was the 2nd sweater I ever made, so I wasn't very experienced at that point. I found it hard to make the M1 increase stitches without leaving big holes. (Maybe I should have pulled the yarn tighter?) I didn't realize it was a problem until the sweater was done, and the yarn didn't bloom in blocking to fill the holes. So, I would recommend trying out another increase method, like lifted increases or M1Rs, if you have this problem too. (BTW, another knitter on Ravelry said she avoided this issue by going up a needle size for each single row before an increase row, to "allow more space for the increases," which worked for her.)
I find my usage varies quite a bit between Magic circle and short needles. I’m interested to hear whether that happens for you and what you do to compensate.
Using shorti can change your gauge! I wish I don't know this... I made two sleeves with different needle, those two were different in width and length too,,, If I were you, I would like to use same niddle that used for other sleeve...
I really enjoy your podcasts AND I'm loving all your wips. If you hadn't mentioned the tiny "off" at the centre of your Stella cushion I would never have noticed it. Once it's over a "fat" cushion and sitting on your furniture NO ONE will notice it ... unless you point it out to them. Enjoy!
Not telling the downside of the Fluff yarn until after the sponsorship is over is a very quick way to lose trust because it tells me as a viewer that you won't tell me the whole story with products you're sponsored by. You may want to think about that in the future
I’m not going to disagree with you because the timing isn’t great. However, shedding is normal for alpaca yarns so I just assumed it was a white shedding monster. But it will be a very warm scarf that will eventually stop shedding.
Understood, not mentioning before was truly me forgetting and by no means intentional based on the sponsorship. I often forget details on all of my projects while filming that often don’t get mentioned until later videos, this specific project was not the first time that has happened. But I see how it can be viewed when partnering with brands and I will put in an effort to not forget details for future projects! I will add that I noticed it more as this project was getting close to being finished because I had more fabric moving around and in my workspace while knitting it than at the start of the project.
@@neknits That makes sense, it's what I honestly figured happened, it's just one of those things you really have to be careful about because it looks bad if it's a pattern

You could put a knitted colored button at the center of the pillow piece, to cover the colors not lining up .
Excellent idea

Every time I see your zipper sweater I want to make one! Beautiful projects!

When you finish the front, weigh it then subtract what you used on the colors to give you how much you used of the cream yarn.
Good idea!
I think I would try duplicate stitching in the dark green on the tan triangle, so it looks like it lines up
The Aurelia is coming along so beautifully! Such a lovely color choice.
I’m also a bad knitter and never ever knit a swatch in the round 🫣
Love the colour of your stick season! Turning out beautifully
Everything looks amazing! The quilt cushion is impressive!
So happy that you swatched in the round! It really helps me get an acceptable size for my sweater.

I have been soooo drawn to that violet color recently! Looking forward to seeing how your DRK Everyday Sweater knits up in it 😊
Another great episode, I am loving the highlight on pillow cases, they look amazing!
Thx Amy. Another thoughtful and inspiring video as usual. ❤❤
You could do just a bit of duplicate stitching in the middle join. I'm doing the Sweet Shop Blanket, and it is tough to get things lined up. :)
On your pillow, you could pit a little button there to "hide" the center.?!?! Just an idea

Great to know! Thank you for the tip!
Everything looks great!😍 Can't wait to see how your Astrid pillow turns out, such cool designs.

Love your content. Look forward to seeing your projects and progress. Gives me a lot of motivation to try knitting garments

I love the row counter you're using on your Aurelia sleeve. I got one on Etsy and enjoy using it. :D
Lovely to see your podcast 😊
You might try Patty Lyons excellent technique for swatching in the round which uses much less yarn.
Your pillow looks so amazing. It looks like it was made by a quilter.
I can recommend this way of gauge swatching in the round. It doesnt work for me, because i knit portuguese style, but it is genious!

I would love if you would caption inches when you mention something in centimeters. My brain doesn't automatically think in centimeters.
What is your LYS? I’m visiting NE this spring and always like picking up some souvenir yarn 😊
I love Another Yarn in Burlington, MA, as well as Boston Fiber Company in Boston, and A Garden for Knitters in North Andover!
So be careful with the shorties vs. magic loop - sometimes that can change your gauge. Love your channel!
❤🌈

or maybe it took that long for the fluffy yarn to show its flaws,
