Amy there are few podcasters I’d trust more to do a review than you! I think you’re quite thorough and meticulous as a person so you’d be great for reviewing books and yarns ❤❤❤
Love the idea of your doing book reviews. I would really value that for sure. I recently knit the Laulu Scarf to test mohair (since my skin won’t tolerate alpaca, even suri) and to try out KFO Merino and SSF combo. I absolutely loved the pattern, knitting experience and the fabric created. I found the shape and size of this scarf to be so wearable and the fiber blend to work for me! Thankfully! Anyway, enjoy knitting your Laulu and thank you for the interesting and entertaining content you create!
Amy thank you again for a wonderful podcast, I love to sit and knit with you! Book reviews, yes yes please! Also, on your next sock, you might want to knit a 4 row pop of contrast color on the top of the cuff along with heel and toe. Kay does that often and it would look great with that Alpine white!
I definetly want to do more cardigans this year as well. I recently finished one that I’m actually happy with, and I think I’m finally starting to understand what kind of knit pieces I’ll enjoy wearing in the end. I knit it in the round tho, and steeked it. Which I really prefer to knitting flat if the construction allows for it. My wrists get really tired from it, and I don’t find sewing intimidating -so I’m confident I’ll be able to get at least one or two cardigans done this year.
I love Patty Lyon's Knitting Bag of Tricks! I got to meet her at Rhinebeck and get a signed copy, she was so sweet. and it really is invaluable, so many great techniques in there.
Love the cable sweater you’re making and love the yarn color you picked! Love watching your videos. Congrats on your sewrella affiliate link! I love sewrellas yarn. I also have the midnight yarn from fuzzy peach fibers! We’ve got similar taste in hand dyed yarn lol
Yes to the reviews. The April cardigan looks great and the buttons are a perfect accent. Love the color of the yarn. Congrats on getting that off the needles. I'm not sure I'll ever be ballsy enough to do sweater surgery but it will be interesting to see how that turns out. Enjoyed the podcast today.
Love all your knits. You are a wonderful knitter. I’ve been watching you for a while and didn’t realize I wasn’t actually subscribed, sorry about that. I’m so glad younger people are knitting, it’s so great to see. I ask the young people in my life if they would love to learn, no go. Hoping when my granddaughter is older she will sant to. 😊
I just realized you area fellow lefty knitter! Woo hoo! It's usually fine, but I'm currently doing a cable sweater pattern that was not working out as a mirrored knit, so I've had to really translate the pattern for left-handed knitting. Really enjoy your channel!
love your makes i watch all your videos castinng on the turtle dove shawl hoping that its acceptable for the kal your hosting i love sari patterns this is my 1st one of hers im excited to make it talk sooon xoxo
On the Lento-I found you NEED the strand of a alpaca to fluff out and fill in the gaps of the US10 gauge with fingering weight. I tried it with silk mohair, held it double, didn't like it, and when I swatched with sure alpaca, it all made sense. If your yak/alpaca fluffs out when blocked, it may work well. The Lento took me two weeks, and I LOVE IT. I wear it all the time, and highly recommend the pattern with the recommended types of yarn.
Congrats on becoming a Sewrella affiliate! You definitely convinced me to buy their yarn. I bought their Red color way when they brought it back last month because of how much I loved the way you looked in your shawl with that color. Also, I would LOVE if you made review videos. I find it very enjoyable when you talk more about knitting engineering, like your deep dive discussion you had once on saddle shoulders.
Hello from WA and Congratulations, what an exciting accomplishment. I'm glad I've come across your podcast and love seeing your beauties and wips you have, it's inspiring. Looking forward to the next episode
Exciting for you to be an affiliate for Sewrella!! Beautiful yarns! I would watch book reviews. Go for the marled sweater!! Those yarns look great together and look good on you. I’ll be joining the KAL. I have Judy Long Airspun which is super fluffy! Like knitting a ☁️!
Please make what's in my queue an ongoing thing. I love project planning almost more than finishing a project and it's fun to see others plan. I'd especially love to know how you purchase quantities of yarn without a project in mind as you travel. I also travel a lot and want to start picking up larger quantities but as a new garmet knitter I'm unsure how to go about that.
I enjoyed your podcast today. Congrats on the April cardigan. Looking forward to the review. I like PK double knitting button band and a lot. My first time doing it was making the Jenny Jacket . So professional. Good choice on buttons. About Marled swatch, I like it a lot. But trust your gut. You can’t talk yourself into liking it. Personally I’d love wearing that with jeans. But I like a textured look. Maybe the Marled look isn’t structured enough for your personal taste. It’s scattered not uniform in appearance. Just a thought? Remember your Goal, knit what you love! 😀
I am currently working on the Rebel cardigan. I like this pattern for several reasons. No button band, so it is worn like a jacket. The two fronts are ribbed and done in a way to make it look a bit like a shawl collar. I considered the Kallias cardigan but in the samples it appeared to fall off the shoulders.
I’ve been debating on knitting the Lento. I even swatched, but it’s marled and I was on the fence about it. I wore my Lana vest for the first time yesterday. I’m not sure what size you made, but I went with a 2 and ran out of yarn so skipped the braid and have shorter hem. Then when I looked back at the pattern I noticed that size 1 and 2 call for the same yardage so I think that’s a mistake. In hindsight I should have knit size 1 because mine got so wide after I blocked it. Then I wouldn’t have run out of yarn
RE that marled swatch, I think it looks great. It is a fabric that has its own nuances and I am not used to marling myself, in fact I still kind of have it in my head that I don't like it. However... Last year I knitted a sweater with colorwork yoke, the contrast color is white (Lettlopi) and the main "color" is dark blue unspun yarn (Plotulopi) held together with white lace weight wool yarn (Helene Magnusson's Love Story), not even fluffy. When I was choosing my colors I had it in my head that the white would make the blue seem lighter at some spots. Of course not. It works better if the thicker yarn is lighter and the thinner yarn is darker to achieve this effect, I know this now, but back then I didn't know it, so when I started knitting I was, like, is this actually a horrible idea? Especially after I completed the yoke and I started creating this marled sea of big blobs with white very visible and blobs of almost all blue, or so it seemed to me as I was knitting it, I was having doubts the whole time. It turns out, I love it, it reminds me of heavy snowfall during a winter night and the colorwork pattern just so conveniently is suitable for this color scheme as it kind of resembles frost patterns. I would have never chosen this combination for the main "color" had I seen a swatch with it beforehand but in this case I am thankful for my ignorance because it turned out great. The colorwork really helps with my sweater though, it looks so festive and wintery and its warmth is appropriate for the coldest of days where I live, too, so it kind of all fell together. I think it's a great idea to have the swatch in front of you to look at, I also liked how you placed it on your arm to show (and see) how it looks like. To me, and this might differ from what it looks like in real life, but what I see on my monitor kind of gives me the impression of jewel but in a casual manner, as if this would be a great everyday sweater with this jewel overtone... (Which is probably wither my imagination or the silk in the lace weight yarn.) The sweater you're swatching for has lace along the raglan lines, right? Perhaps knit a swatch to see how this looks like? I imagine your yarn will really emphasize the lace and make the sweater even greater but I might be wrong (as I said, I'm not into marling myself usually so not much experience) so perhaps make a swatch just for the lace, place it next to your current swatch and think about this combination as well? If the yarn hides the lace, I'd say scrap the idea, if it emphasizes it, I'd say go for it, but in the end it's your decision, these are just my thoughts. In any case, I'm very curious to see what you decide.
Do you think Sari Nordland's shawls can be sized up or lengthened? I love the look of so many of her shawls but they are not the size I prefer to wear. I like to have able to wrap once and still have decent length tails to go over my chest and hang down proportionally.
Four ply sock yarn vs two ply sock yarn; is it literally talking about the numbeR of strands plied together? There is something counterintuitive about a 4 ply sock yarn having more yardage then a 2 ply. Having trouble getting my head wrapped around this yarn terminology.

Yes to book reviews! Love your style…LOVE your podcasts!!!
Love the marled swatch, looks great next to your face, and really reminds me of denim! You can’t go wrong with any shade of your fave jeans!
Looking forward to seeing how your scarf turns out.

Love the marled Lento swatch, and "Yes" to all the review videos.
Would love a book review. I really like the marled look of the blues together. Go for it! Beautiful projects all around ❤
Love your color choices for the Aurelia & Lento sweaters. They will look great on you! 😍
Oh definitely recommend the lento! I made it this December and it was such a fast and pleasant knit😊
I would really enjoy book reviews from you as part of your podcasts. In particular, the Patty Lions book is of interest. 😊
I love the blue/grey marled swatch!!!

Your Sari Nordland sweater is gorgeous. Looks Lilac on my screen...which I love.
Love that you showed your swatches. The color you chose for your stick season sweater is gorgeous!

The Gabo Yarn Marble looks great on you ❤
I recommend the Felix Cardigan. Made the Felix pullover twice! Then the cardigan version. Great!
I just bought the Patty Lyons book. Thanks for the recommendation.
Enjoyed your podcast. 🎉

Love the blue marked color. It will be lovely in the Lento!!
Ooh! The stick season swatch is beautiful!

I like that swatch. The final sweater would pair nicely with some lighter wash jeans or deep navy pants. Also I would love your knitting origin story.
I love book reviews! Also, contemplating your swatch for a while sounds like a good idea.
Yes, please to the indepth book reviews. Great idea!

Another wonderful podcast Amy! I really love your Lana vest…I’m now wanting one just like it 😊. I would love to hear your book reviews!
Please do a book review! That book sounds super interesting and I’d really trust you to give a thoughtful and thorough review!
Book reviews, yes please!

Thanks the number of stitch you used for you socks help me. I am knitting a vanilla socks for my sister in law and her shoe size is also a 5
Love your podcast
I agree with the marling , unsure about the final results. I’d rather use similar colors , so it’s more solid and soft looking . 😂 🧶💙💫
I’ve been debating on knitting the Lento. I even swatched, but it’s marled and I was on the fence about it.

Ooof I’d be raging if that happened to me! Did you contact the designer to let them know?
Hey Amy! My first time commenting, but I've been keeping up with the channel since the beginning, I love your videos!
Thank you so much!!

I can’t speak for all of her shawl patterns, but the Laulu pattern does include instructions on how to repeat the motif to make it larger!
When you casted on 60 stitches for your socks, what size needle did you used? 2.25mm?
Yes 2.25mm! Sorry forgot to mention that
Which sweater pattern did you find easier, the Moby or the Aurelia? Just finishing a Snowy Forest sweater and I'd like to knit a cable sweater.
The Moby is much easier! The cable pattern itself is much simpler
❤🌈

would the turtle dove shawl be approved for the kal
Yes!
You do your swatches flat?
Nathan and Malcom but no Benny? 😮😢
