Oh I know. I am remodeling my gpas 1944 JD B and it will never be worth the money I’m putting into it. But it’s a labor of love. I hate to seen old iron sitting out next to a driveway rusting down. It just kills me. I’d like to same them all too if I could. Someone has to put forth the effort. Having some choices in spare parts is always good! I figure that tractor put food on the table for my dad and the family, so I’m doing my part to bring her back to life.
Absolutely!! Lots of rest and her favorite foods and I'm sure u'll give her plenty of love and she'll be back to work telling u and ur dad what work needs to be done on those D4's...😂🐈⬛🐕🐈⬛❤️😆.. I'm sure she's happy to be home👍👍
Glad Big Stripes is safe. You have a Caterpillar addiction. Glad you can save the machines. Just got my first Ford 8N this week. (1949). Good luck to you.
Yes, we watch to the end Mister D4. Buried the lead story I see, clever… Big Stripes is back?! Wonderful news. Can’t have enough D4s. Great machines. Big enough to do real work, small enough to take to a show on occasion. This episode brought to you by, the letter 12.
Ditto from Squatch. I am going to give it a go as I love crawlers and Cat at the top of the list. That said, please be careful, getting hurt or worse loading or otherwise is not worth it. I never have been sorry when I was safe but I sure have been sorry when I was not.
"I got to look at the sky a few times..." lol 🤣 I can't wait to hear the stories on those 4G's and see the walkarounds - it looked like there were a few other interesting crawlers on that property as well! Appreciate the stories too, when you said you were basically burned out on operating I could completely relate - I just got burned out on broken automobiles after 23 years of battling them every day. I absolutely love working on old tractors, but even the old '53 Chev truck that I have that used to belong to my grandfather just doesn't interest me that much, it reminds me too much of what I saw at the dealership.
He had a very impressive collection. Mostly Cletracs and a caterpillar 60 that he started for us. We are the same way how about working on Old tractors. Not too terribly stressful. I know I don't have to have it fixed for work tomorrow morning.
Wow- ride 'em cowboy!(loading that first D4). A great find hope you get to restore some of them. Really good news with Big Stripes, one of the stars of the show
These low boy trailers are so good, not seen one in my area. Triplets? Heck yeah man, this is more machines to tinker with. It's so interesting to see how the Rocky mountains make nature look so different depending on what side of the mountain range you live on.
Trucking the Colorado Rockies is always exciting. I had been over famous passes with smaller equipment from the 80s. Those were good days, and I'm still around to remember them. Thank you.
Oh rabbit years, I forgot about that one. Got stuck with an oversized load during a bicycle race up and down rabbit ears. At least I had an N14 with a good jake.
That was scary just watching you load those. You are much braver than me, I always winch them onto the trailer even with wooden ramps like squatch has. Great find and you are spot on, you cannot have too many D4's.....
Yeah, sorry about that. I don't know why, but the CAT just gets my attention. Maybe it's because they are something my dad made (D9s and scrapers that I remember him talking about), in Birtley Co. Durham, when I was a kid in the 60s. The others aren't in my history growing up in the UK. Maybe if you had Deere (I drove a 3040 a few times) or Nuffield (had the use of a 10/60 death trap when I kept horses and did uplifting with it, no idea why I am not dead, downhill using differential brakes to steer while being pushed by 10 tons of barley... no wonder I have white hair), then it would be different. They are near 9K now, and yes I did, and watched them pick up 3 D4/RD4s.
howdy. im super suprised to see more of these D4-4G bull dozers around. My father and i own one and use it every once anda while. i was wondering if you could help or point us in the right direction when it comes to tracks. one of our runs is very loose and im worried we'd throw a track eatch time we use it. if you'd like, i have a video of our dozer in action for you to watch and enjoy. also, i love your 4G project yall are working on, keep it up!
Yes, I remember your videos! If my memory is correct you're up in the mountains here in Colorado. I should have a few fairly recent videos in the 4G9986 "lil Lefty" playlist that show how to tension the tracks. If memory serves me correctly you want about an inch and a half of deflection from a straight edge. That's between the carrier and the front idler. It's a little less if you have dual carriers on an early 4G. It can definitely be tricky if you have a dozer attached to the frame. 👍
I think the 5T 5 roller frame is going to be our next big build. But we are already working on getting these up and going. The rd4 may be a little bit more difficult to save.
@@lifeafterourloss At least the weather was nice and that lowboy got all of them in one haul, we got a lot of parts cars and projects years ago, mostly winter time, freezing cold, snowing, dark, hours and hours of driving, a trailer behind a van, well, younger age it was easier, i could not do it anymore...
Hi guys will be looking forward to seeing yous work on the old girls love those old cats
Oh my. Another 3 tractors?? What an awesome collection!
It's a shame most of these tractors are worth about scrap price. I just can't stand to see them go to scrap. 😊

Hi all. Sasquatch sent over. Great video.
Welcome to LAOL 👍
Squatch sent me. I like it already. Mike from South central Ky.
Thanks squatch for the news of this channel
Good thing stripes is home, you’ll need the help 😂.
Thanks Tom! She loves her big yellow iron cats. 😺
Heavy Iron and big rigs! How can you go wrong! I'm here to follow along, recommended by Squatch253
Welcome to LAOL, we're happy to have you here with us.
Crazy! Gear down big rig!!! That was exciting, you popped a wheelie!!!
My poor mother was filming. You can hear her get a little nervous about it at times. 😂
Congratulations triplets you and the Cleaner should be smoking some nice sweet cigars 😀🇨🇦
Super happy Biggg
Stripes is back..❤❤👍👍🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐕🦺🦮🐕❤️❤️
Me too I love that kitty. Hopefully we can get her back to good health. 😊

My nerves are shot watching you load those from 1000 miles away.
I only have one nerve left and he was dancing a jig on it.
If you listen closely you can hear my mom's reaction while she was filming.
gotta say i love the cat shots, but could not help but notice the few scenic shots..America the Beautiful for sure....
Need a sign on your shop. “The D-4 Parts Store”.
I love it! " welcome to the D4 parts store"
Odd, tractor has a wet line but the trailer didn't get hooked up to it or didn't have a hookup. Cute little tractors those are.
Thank you. JFW mostly hauls gravel. So the wet lines are for in end dumps. Just air brakes on the back of the trailer. 👍
Wow, nice find Aaron, you and your dad have a lot of restoring to do in the future.
The beauty is two of these are runners.
Glad Big Stripes is safe.
You have a Caterpillar addiction. Glad you can save the machines. Just got my first Ford 8N this week. (1949). Good luck to you.
And I thought I had a problem with troublesome projects; you and The Cleaner have definitely passed me 👍
😊 Mine are Motor Graders and Trexcavators🤣😂🤣
The wild caterpillar sanctuary. 😄

We've just fallen in love with those tractors. I'm glad somebody got my off the wall humor. 🧛♂️
Followed Squatch's bread crumbs and wound up here.

Squatch253 sent me here, and I couldn't wait to comment on that lip sweater, but you beat me to it.
Love the old cats!!!
Wow 12😲 can't wait for all your upcoming videos!!!!
We have some exciting plans for these tractors.

I think you need a few MOOOORE D4s
Great find
Welcome!
Congratulations. Your herd of D4s is growing. Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with them. Thanks for another great video!

It was a beautiful drive. Early fall and the leaves were changing.
Trucking the Colorado Rockies is always exciting.
I had been over famous passes with smaller equipment from the 80s.
Those were good days, and I'm still around to remember them.
Thank you.
I suspect you're talking about Wolf Creek pass. Definitely a favorite of mine, 😉.
@lifeafterourloss That, and Rabbit Ears with a 290 Cummins. The engine brake on those weren't effective.
Oh rabbit years, I forgot about that one. Got stuck with an oversized load during a bicycle race up and down rabbit ears. At least I had an N14 with a good jake.
Yah BIG STRIPS
Wow! The fleet continues to grow! Glad to hear Big Stripes is home safe and sound.
It looks like you have a Cat infestation. 😮
That was scary just watching you load those. You are much braver than me, I always winch them onto the trailer even with wooden ramps like squatch has. Great find and you are spot on, you cannot have too many D4's.....
The problem is, I'm not as afraid as I should be. A winch would have been a wise decision. 😂
You guys ought to hook up with Squatch 253 if you have not already. More Cat addicts in PA
We have, he is a great guy. 👍
Came over from squatch. Love the cat content.

You could start a Caterpillar Ranch.. Just sayin.
That would be a great theme for a ranch.
Soon another one will be rebuilt???
I think the 5T 5 roller frame is going to be our next big build. But we are already working on getting these up and going. The rd4 may be a little bit more difficult to save.
Did you make another cat video about the attachments
I have some walk around in the future of each machine. 👍

Welcome to LAOL! 😊
Me too. Howdie
Welcome!
Don't being your D4 anywhere near Colorado, you might loose it...
We might need to expand our search radius for D4s, 🤣.
