Ah yes, the song that introduced me to La-Mulana back in 2014. This one had a surprising amount of votes for a remake from the 2021 May Madness ballot. It was on my short list for last year, but was cut in favor of other songs.
With the amount of requests it received this year, on top of my love for this song, I simply couldn't pass it up.

Nice. Please do a remix of ME3 where there is a transition of the song "Palavan burning ost" to "brute ost". Especially since legendary edition came out.

I was not ready for how hard this song would go. I thought "Never played La-Mulana, so this one probably won't blow me away but it's GaMetal so it'll sound good" but FOR REAL that was awesome.

@@Manganization It is also getting lost in ancient temple ruins wandering around not knowing what to do or where to go, reading obscure inscriptions that vaguely hint you and solving puzzles and game physics straight from the 80s. Overall 10/10 experience, I love it.
I would recommend it, but be prepared to pull your hair out in frustration for like... 100+ hours
I understand La-Mulana isn't for everybody, but the games have amazing soundtracks.
That moment when a cover of a song is so good that you instantly buy the game it came from. True story.
One advice for you then: La Mulana is NINTENDO HARD and if you want to go at it without a guide let me tell you: Every note and scrap of lore you find can be vital to succeeding! A tablet hidden out of the way could be just as helpful in the long run as a seemingly plain tidbit from one right in your path. If you want to get through the game, bring a notebook.
Tiamat was one mean mother from Outer Space.
It's one of those tracks that sound good already in the lo-fi original and just gets you pumped for a Boss fight you have to work forever to even get to.

After you released In Yggdrasil, I had to go back and listen to your old cover of Interstice of the Dimension -- imagine my pleasant surprise when you announced it for May Madness! This update rocked my socks off, awesome!
I only played La-Mulana once, and I didn't get far into it... Maybe I should give it another shot.

holy cow, this is one of my favourite songs that you have covered, and while I love the old version, you've upped the intensity twice over with this one. Absolutely phenomenal work.

My favourite song is Goodbye Mom and the Graveyard of Giants theme, but this one is a close third. Kicks soooo much butt, great stuff!
I keep coming back to this one and 1:52 to 2:02 just blows me away every time, even if I just watch that bit over and over, the whole arrangement is top notch but the drumming part is fantastic
I'm gonna comment this here since I'm seeing a lot of similar comments: If you wanna try out La Mulana (and you definitely should, it's a fantastic game), make sure you either take notes or take screenshots of the tablets you come across. The game has some very difficult puzzles scattered around it and tips are scattered all over the place, backtracking can be a pain - especially if a very useful tablet you forgot about is one you just happen to walk past repeatedly without looking at it because you think it already did - and most people agree the game is MUCH more enjoyable when you play it this way.
I also recommend you read the manual included in the game... It might help you be one of VERY VERY few people to solve one of the last puzzles without using a guide or brute forcing it. ;p

I would love to hear a cover of Laughing Joking Numbnuts from AVGN Adventures. The original track goes pretty damn hard, so I am intrigued to see how it would turn out.
As for Interstice of the Dimension... yeah, the original way back then was already pretty intense, and then came the remake... and now, we have this. To this day, it is still one of the most intense boss themes I've ever heard, and this cover is even more so. Absolutely brilliant. :)

He fucking did it, the mad lad actually fucking topped the original, holy shit Jonny. I love this so much. The drum are SO GOOD and the mixing is GREAT. I feel like you let the mixing be a little messy? Like the really hard sections at :38 for instance are something I feel like you'd usually try to clean up a bit more, maybe tone down the drums a bit either in the composition or the mix so that it's a bit less of a wall of noise, but GODDAMN sometimes the noise-walls are good and I think you KILLED IT in this. I know I wax nostalgic over your old dirtier mixing way too often and it's probably a pain in the ass if you read the comments too much (sorry lmao), but goddamn the idea of you mixing the refined polish you've honed down over the years with little snippets of that old rawness? EXCITING. SUPER EXCITING.

I swear man, it's always the songs I have no idea about that are the most bangin' ones. I love it, and I might take Jonny up on the request for listening to the La-Mulana OST. Might as well play the games since usually I tend to discover really fun games through this channel, like OFF or Rabi-Ribi a couple of years ago.
Anyway, leaving my typical Aeon's Devil Gundam from MS Saga request before going to check this one out.
La Mulana is fantastic! Just be warned if you decide to play it that it's a very puzzle heavy game, and that you should take notes on all the hints you see.
I recommend taking screenshots of all the tablets, personally. :) It's a wonderful game.

Amazing job with this song! I need to pick up the La-Mulana series at some point. Excited to see what comes in the future! One song that would be interesting to hear how you would do cover/remix of would be Stone Tower Temple from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Incorporate both the normal and the inverted versions of the dungeon somehow, that'd be cool.
You'll hear this all the time, but make sure you either take lots of screenshots or take down notes. The puzzles aren't SUPER obtuse but they usually have hints scattered *ALL* over the place so it's recommended to at least have screenshots of all the stone tablets so you can pour through the hints without hours of backtracking.

Impressive as always! Never played La-Mulana, but the footage looks intriguing so I'll have to remember that name if it comes up in the future for like Switch or something (no idea what console it's on originally). Reminds me a little of the DS Castlevania titles, and that's DEFINITELY not a bad thing.
La-Mulana 1 and 2 are already available for Switch, there's also a physical for both games on one cartridge.

Making me wanna go back and play this again.
I stopped playing the first game around this point because I accidentally activated hard mode at the start, and just kinda stubbornly tried anyway. Gave the hell up at the Dimensional Corridor.
Played 2, noted the hard mode tablet, did NOT activate it and honestly, the game is actually pretty manageable and not all that waylaying. Just shy of finding the 2 remaining bosses. Might go back and play 1 again after... WITHOUT the hard mode.
For anyone that doesn't know, Braniac Maniac has passed Masked Dedede in views and is about to get 2 million views!
Also, don't comment that you are the 2 millionth view if the view count shows 2,000,000. It doesn't count your current viewing as a view in the view count. So, you can only truthfully comment that if the view count shows 1,999,999.
I can't believe I'm still not seeing requests for Blaze Heatnix' theme here. Megaman X6 was fucking hard but this was the real gem in the game
MMx6 was not "hard". It just had really bad level design.
@@DarkGamer364 Well bad level design translates into difficulty. That doesn't mean I hated it though. I enjoyed X6 for the difficulty and soundtrack, but definitely not the best X game to start with if you want to enjoy the series

@@imptwins Its great. Fun Fact; Sakit is the only boss you can beat out of order. Graveyard of Giants has enough entrances to be reachable without needing the gates open on the Frontside

La Mulana is genuinely one of my favorite games. Just be warned it's rather tough and also puzzle heavy. If you decide to play it you should write down all the hints the game gives you.
