I'm so glad I could make this! Not only do we get more MudWing representation, but a deaf character in the series. I'd absolutely love to read Winglets like this :) Question of the day: Favorite Christmas or holiday movie growing up? My answer: Rudolph the rednose reindeer I loved so much :D
Dragon sign language? I loved that it was MudWings who developed it through their bond. And honestly, I've never really thought about it much, since the SeaWings' Aquatic is already a kind of sign language. With the Guidebook now released, other tribes might catch on to the idea of using sign language. Maybe more for soldiers who can no longer speak or lost their hearing in battle. And who knows? Maybe Tui will make this little heartwarming story a reality! P.S. We seriously need more Winglets
This story is amazing!! Everyone always says MudWings are the most "boring" tribe, and I think this story definitely makes the tribe more interesting!! I wish this was canon--
This is so FREAKING cool!! Before this video came out I started to work on a young seawing OC who was deaf and wrongly exiled from the sea kingdom. After a few months, she discovered that she has a brother who is half mudwing. The two of them are inseparable! With the help of her brother who knows and can do Aquatic, she has learned more about many different things, and has applied to go to Jade Mountain Academy with her brother. If anyone is interested, I can talking more about my Ocs, like the brothers backstory or my villain OC. Thank you for reading my comment and I hope you have a great day/night!❤
@@wolfspirit36 the brothers back story lol! Ooh and the villain oc. Your deaf seawing oc just is so unique, so I know that your others are going to be just as cool! Do you write any stories about him?
We know that this won’t happen cause the series in written by tui, and we all know how she treats mudwings. Would probably be the nightwings knowing tui
This was sucy a sweet story! I really wish we got winglets like this that flesh out the worlds past and I could see this being a great start for those. I still think the biggest reason I love arc I so much is the sibling relationship they have with each other and this story got that along perfectly!
I love the writing style of this and I love the idea on Mudwings using sign language. I wish this was in the guide, alongside more of the cultural aspects of Mudwings, as they are not brought up much in the series and it is sad that Tui leaves so much of their tribe out.
This is really cool! I've learned a little sign language myself after meeting a deaf cleaner at my school (just "how are you" and responses, mostly), and I became more aware of the lives they must live, and how sign language isn't a required thing to learn, not even any basics, in middle school or high school. So this is very sweet, and the fact that they wanted to share it with the rest of the dragon tribes. I could honestly see it as a benefit to teach basic sign language in school. For the region you're in, of course.
Oh what a lovely story!! I love the idea, it reflects how there's different sign languages in real life too. And of all the tribes to create the land version of it, makes sense for the Mudwings!
I want another mudwing POV. Hmm… maybe one in Umber do we will finally know what he has been doing with Sora the whole time. (My thoughts: Umber and Sora taking fake IDs and doing a traveling tap dancing buisness)
I love this story so much! The way you write has a way of capturing the reader, I couldn't stop watching! I think this was a great idea and can really see the MudWings doing this and then dragons spreading the words through scrolls in libraries, especially Jade Mountain. It would be so awesome if maybe sign language could become another class you can learn at the academy
I think this is just fascinating. I've always loved the idea of conlangs adding depth to Phyrria. It made me think: if Dragonspeak has accents/dialects, why shouldn't Aquatic have dialects? Potentially slightly different scales, and slang that dosen't exactly have a 1:1 equivelant with Royal Aquatic or Dragonspeak! I also love the idea of a Proto-Draconic language family, and am kind of dissapointed that there isn't more representation of dialects.
also, i think it was a fun little easter egg to us liguists that nightwings would have a thicker accent due to their large amounts of isolation. (linguistic isolates.) also icewings having a different accent.
You know what I want to see in Wings of Fire? Albino Dragons There are many cases of it in reptiles, so it's definitely possible &, considering how important scale color is to tell Dragons apart, I think it would be very interesting to see one from a tribe that is not supposed to be white

They do!

I would find it most interesting to see Mudwings develop sign language. Remember their scales. Interesting.
DEAFMUDING!?!!????🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
about the "there's never been a deaf dragon"
could Pronghorn count?
he is HALF deaf, clearly mentioned in book 10 i think?
There was a dragon who was half deafened by an explosion, but I don't think it was Pronghorn. It was someone in one of the wars I believe
yeah, it was Pronghorn. Qibli makes that clear in the chapter that Qibli asks Pronghorn if he's seen Ostrich.@@Dogloverlikesdoge

this title has me confused

May I use this idea in my wof fanfic? (with credit of course)
Sign language and the themes, absolutely! But if you're using these characters and story exactly, I'd prefer if you tried to do your own thing
Wow!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALY (its musi)
Technicly aquatic is allready a sign language. Problem is that it involves the bioluminecent scales that only seawings have.
This is a universal one! :)
deaf mudwings!!!
