In this video, I will showcase several rare Nain Persian rugs with 500 to 1200 kpsi and explain why the knot count is very important in determining the true quality of the Nain carpets.
Persian Nain rugs are classified by the number of threats in a fringe and I will explain to you how to determine their quality (Lah) and why can vary so greatly even when they are of the same quality. This is one of several videos about Nain Persian rugs and to see other videos about Nain carpets, visit our TH-cam channel.

Thank you again, Mike. I never knew about the number of twists in one fringe to determine the quality. I am trying to catch up on your posts. God Bless 🙏

      Hi,
I looked at your pics and you appear to have a standard quality 9-Lah Nain. I counted 16 knots per inch (2,54cm), which gives us 256kpsi. My suggestion would be to have the rug evaluated by a rug dealer in your area.
      Hope this helps.

I want to know how to know if the colors are vegetable or artificial

Virtually all genuine Persian rugs made in the last 40+ years use a mix of vegetable and commercial dyes. If you want 100% vegetable dyes in the wool, try looking for old rugs.
      Hope this helps.

hi, is it possible to have a 6 La with KPSI of higher than 900?

      Hi,
It's possible and I have seen 1 example of an old Habibian with a knot count of about 900, but that rug was for display at a rug exhibition. Typically, the 6-Lah end at around 700 kpsi.
