Part 3: How Signatures are added to Persian rugs in order to inflate their values and are often used to exaggerate their qualities and origin. The Habibian Nain rugs are amongst the best known Persian carpets, but unfortunately the workshop was a very small one that only produced Nain rugs until the 80's and yet virtually all high quality Nain rugs feature the signature of the Habibian workshop.
Using several newly added Nain rugs, I will show you what to look for.

Very good informative video as always. :) And good to see tthat there was one workshop which has added its real signature to that fantastic 16-sided rug. More work/artpiece like that one maybe could make them real famous.

Totally agree with you. I wish the few remaining workshops would emphasize their own names instead of adding the fake Habibian signatures, but unfortunately the name sells and many dealers are using the fame to pimp up their prices...

this is wonderful information. I recently bought a Nain rug, and it looks like the signature is the shorter one.. so must be a more recently made rug.. 😖
