Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Jeff Clark.
New Stacker here and I've been going thru boxes of Nickels and Pennies and on the Nickels...anything 1980 and below, I keep and separate into piles of 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. ... just for the reason of leaving off to the Kidos and something I too believe will be worth MORE in the future... then later on I can go thru all the separate piles and see what we have under the microscope.
I do it much the same way and I also keep a side bin of the dates and years I know have errors. When I find something interesting, even if I’m not sure it is what I think it is, I make sure that I put it in a baggie separate and I identify what I think it is on the baggie just in case I need to go looking for it.
I've started a process of saving, labeling and organizing my coins for the future as well. At the very least, in 20-40 years I can give him some really good coins that would be considered pretty old by then. I have some *beautiful* pennies from the 70s and 80s.

The prices realized for the rolls that sold on Heritage Auctions recently are absolutely insane! $960 on ONE roll of 1934-P Lincoln Cents, $720 for ONE roll of 1943-P Jefferson Nickels?! It makes me wish I had saved more of my OBW rolls, but.... I just can't help myself! 🤦♂🤪
I've found a vein in my state where they are delivering brand new coins including the 2024 nickels from Philadelphia. So far I've been able to pick up 7 full boxes and also am finding quite a few in customer wrapped rolls. Have been making great $$$ on eBay selling these. It's a modern day phenomenon. My advice ...go throughout the state you live in ( make some phone calls to banks) and try to find them. Have fun hunting!
Afternoon, Shaun! I just finished a box of Jefferson's from the bank and, while I didn't run across any 2024s, I did find some nice errors on the 2023s and other dates. I also found a 1939, 1944 and 1946 w/o-m.m.s, that I'll be checking for Henney's, and the last roll had a 1942S.
I do alot of penny coin rolling and i would say on average per roll i find 1 wheat- 8 coppers 10 nice zincolns maybe 2 key dates the remaining 30 are %100 pure crap zincolns ! Times are definitely changing and fast !
I swear it took me to three years to find a 2009D nickel for my… my kids actually ended up buying me one for Christmas cause I couldn’t take it anymore😂
If you're not buying 2024 nickels now you are missing out.....these are going to double at least in price when the 25s come out... At $50-60 a roll for the new 24s its a bargain IMO.... Look at how much a roll of 2009 nickels are selling for in UNC condition! And the 24s are much lower mintages.
I have a question for you BlueRidge, how much money you make this year out of this hobby of collecting coins ? Time to tell the true, is it worth it the time ? I love this hobby by the way.

And just original rolls are getting harder to find. Is there anything in the 2022 D cent I should be looking for I have not heard much 22 D

Just another comment, check out the nickel mintages in Redbook, the 1959 from Philadelphia is the last lower mintage than the new 2024s.

In Houston, TX I've been having luck with both Penny and Nickel boxes... I may need to do a video on soon.
