If those trade dollars are real they are $200 each. Those 911 rugs sell for $150 or so. And some of those swords have to be very expensive and he said the most expensive item was $250. I’m guessing a lot of the stores are like that too. Westerners just have to risk their lives to try to get there and home safely but man that store is heaven for collectors.

These guys aren’t to blame for not stopping. It looks like they got tired of all the stopping and bored taliban who want to chat and then offer tea. If it happens so often and they’re not communicating with each other you eventually get sick of it and can’t do it all the time especially if you need to be somewhere. That’s why they stopped taking them seriously

The reason they all have spelling mistakes is because they all follow the same design chart. They are all hand made. The design chart is givens to the weaver and it dictates the color of the wool they will use for each knot. The weaver likely may not even know English, they just follow the chart. Sometimes, the weaver might look at the design chart in reverse, especially if they are uneducated they wouldn’t know the right orientation. So this explains why the rug you saw was inverted, it was a mistake by the weaver not knowing the correct orientation of the chart.
