Absolutely fantastic talk! I’m so glad he addressed the issue about the network not addressing local black issues, since it wasn’t necessarily tied to some larger global issue as if that shit isn’t tied to global historical issues already. What a good and deep conversation.

I so appreciate this conversation between Amanda and Roy. Roy is really insightful and has a way of discussing important issues in such a clever way. I hope he creates his own show where he can continue to have these thoughtful convos with folks. Loved every minute of this! 🙌🏾

I am 23 mins in and this conversation is so intriguing because both Amanda and Roy are comedians. When Roy asked, “is this relationship worth saving…?” I was like yes!!!!!! That is the question most people wont take the time to ask themselves, speaking from experience. There are a lot of things that may deserve our clarity but not our energy, depending on the nature of the relationship. Like everyone else in the comments are saying, I could watch y’all all day. ❤

These two are perfect for each other, I need them to host a political show to educate people on what's going on in this country, 44:00 was REAL. Roy has kids though and he needed a break, he couldn't keep working so much at the Daily Show, he's a smart man, having a backup plan.

Amanda, I just need to say Thank you first and foremost. I appreciate your tireless effort in communicating and educating people about the issues all around us. Bless you and your family. Also, please know for all the haters out there who talk crap, there are more people who appreciate you. You are not alone and you are loved. Stay strong. 💪🏼

At the end of the day, everyone is going to be offended about something. You cannot please everyone! Just speak the truth and thats all it matters. Some people cant handle the truth so they want to turn around and make it about how you offended them etc etc. The point still stands!

Hi Amanda and Roy Wood Jr. A good read on boundaries is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, I own it and it’s so helpful. I’m definitely voting. You’re right. We vote for the better option. We won’t get everything but we’ll get something. I stopped following The Daily Show once the rotation got tiring. I wanted a few ppl to get the job and Roy and Hasan are my favorites. Anyway, from Roy to Josh Johnson, I just feel like you all create wonderful TV. And I wasn’t born in the US so the trauma I left is what I walked into, so being able to laugh keeps me going. Comedians do really good work and laughter is the best medicine. Thank you to all the political comedians and for this wonderful episode. ❤

1:10::43 This is interesting about what comedy and political-commentary-entertainment looka like in this landscape. Watching Amanda's Morning Musings makes me think that emotional range can also be riveting as a viewer, and watching Roy in this show demonstrates how riveting calmness is. I think political commentary will lean more into this range of emotion and affect for its effectiveness as the jokes get slimmer.

Roy is missing something. It's not that people DONT want to care for something other than themselves. It's that they CANT care. We cannot afford to care about the community, most of us are just trying to survive.
