@Victor Abdullatif Is there a more indepth video online about different deck settings and changing the user interface to look more like yours? Something that visually shows you how you are progressing.
Rachel is like the older friend who guides you through college. Never knew i needed one but now i can't really imagine my life without her helpful videos ☺ okay i sound cliche kbai 😅
I'll bet a lot of money that victor guy is a true video gamer... Vertical Monitor in portrait mood, duel monitor set up, messing up with the app's default settings.. Med school by day, twitch streamer by night. I C U.
Rachel i am currently in grade 11th and you are such an inspiration for me. I saw your Anki tutorial 3 months back..and after using it..it has helped me so much in learning Biology. Love from India ❤️🇮🇳🥰
I’m an undergrad but I take my studying so seriously. I plan to go to Dental school in about 2-3 years and I want to begin to practice good study habits ASAP. This was so helpful!!! Thank you :)
Holy shit. In my days, I used multi-coloured pens and a deck of blank business cards for each round. Sometimes if i feel a little fancy, i use tiny sticky tabs to colour code/ hide answers. Damn.
I just realized that I found your channel from your other anki tutorial video. It was the best tutorial I could find and did a really great job keeping things simple. I'm glad you're updating your tutorial!
Queen of ANKI 👸 I was just watching your earlier ANKI video this morning, I'm so glad you uploaded this particular video. Also loving the plant on your desk, going back to uni in September so my eyes are on plants everywhere for my new room :)
Rachel, you are very inspiring to me. I have recently subscribed to your channel. I just want to give you huge props for this ANKI recommendation. I have just transferred to University from community college. I am taking genetics, physics, biochemistry. I'm a biochemistry major. I am identifying that my previous study methods are not efficient. I am spending all day studying or in zoom lectures. I really value your comments about how you review lecture material and use ANKI simultaneously. In the last week I have been thinking, I can't continue to attend all my zoom lectures and complete assignments and study. I just don't have enough hours. Your video was the validation I needed to move forward with my plan. haha I guess I felt like, if a med student is saying this works then it must work. I started using ANKI in the last hour and I can already tell this is going to be a game changer for me. I love how the desktop download is free!!!! Thank you!!!!
I’m a nursing student and Rachel your channel has been so inspirational to me. I have started using anki and it has totally changed my study! Can’t wait to see how far you go Rachel 💘
Ahhh both you and Ali Abdaal use anki ! I’m a soon to be medical student and you both inspired me to finally start my channel in quarantine:) Thank you so much :)
I had no clue about Anki... so you mean to tell me that you create all of your cards? That is insane! To create (which is time-consuming) and then study. Wow, that is all I can say.
I’m a non-traditional post bacc student out of college a decade. I’m struggling but I’ll apply new and improve study tricks. I will become a physician!
Wow rachel thank you for doing this updated version.I was new to anki and I’m about to finish my first year in 3 months.I’m a little bit bummed that I leant all this new stuff too late but also pretty happy that now I can use them for the coming years.Thank you so much love you.❤️✨ P.S-could you do a routine related to biochemistry?Would be really helpful🥰
I use to use Anki quite a bit but then i slowly stopped in favour of using excel so I could get a better overview of all my progress. Might look to get back into Anki after this :)
Thanks Rachel ! I started using Anki from yesterday, and I find your video really helpful to get started with . Please bring such pro-ANKIst to share how they use their Anki :)
Rachel I just watched your old Anki video a week ago to startup for the MCAT- and lo and behold another tutorial! Thank you so much! :) and wow.... I can’t believe he bought an entire monitor just to dedicate it to a portrait mode Anki 😭😂😂
Also, another amazing hack to not clog up your computer storage is pressing shift + control + command + 4 on Mac. Takes a SC but just saves it to your clip board! Great for image occ. :)
I’m gonna come back to this video in 5 months when I get into med school (hopefully) but I tried using it for organic chemistry and I mean it’s it’s it’s good 👍🏽😂.
Thanks for the video. The issue I’m having is that I can’t use any add-ons because all the demos I’ve seen are on macs, where the tool bar is at the top of their computer. I’m working on a chrome book using AnkiDroid and I can’t find the tools bar anywhere, can someone help please?
@ Victor: please specify what study you refer to as that pretty much goes to the heart of Anki. @ Rachel: Subscribed. This was a good introduction to your videos, I think.
Just downloaded Anki and watched this video. Thanks for explaining how to organise decks, and particularly how to use the shortcut Command+Shift+c for adding text! But unfortunately, I don't have the same Type options you have, only a few Basic ones and a single Cloze type. The Cloze type just has a Text field, and there is no button for image occlusion. This made it hard for a beginner like me to follow the video. Perhaps it's because they've changed the software. Perhaps it's time for a new video given the interface seems to have changed. I look forward to watching it as Anki does look like a really helpful piece of software for studying.
Basically its a flash card game,to practise your straight feeling towards complicated knowledge. It can be really worked on something like functions in maths,Chinese kanji characters in language, interview questions in your profession… All base covered when you filled with backside of knowledge you should interested and remeber(if youre not that efficiency will be reduced) Ex:How does real time rendering work? and render pipeline knowledge u should write back. but may not seen as quite useful in just remember English words cuz its really a little bit waste of anki personally.
I've been using Anki for over a year to help me learn how to program in C. I've tried several different flash card programs before coming across this one. I love how it's cross-platform compatible, lets me sync my decks between my home computer and phone and even has an HTML editor (Ctrl+Shift+X) to create some pretty neat cards. In the HTML card editor, add "" to get a nice bulleted list made.
Hi Rachel! I am starting medical school in a little over a month (eeee). Is there anything you wish you would have known about Anki before starting school? Or was there enough time for you at the start of your year to learn how to use the app efficiently? I'm feeling a little overwhelmed seeing all this information about intervals, decks, tags, etc etc..
This was super helpful!! I've been slowly using Anki and incorporating more cards to study for the MCAT. I was just curious what settings you use and also if you recommend making our own decks or using pre-made ones for something such as the MCAT? :)
Thumbs up this video if you enjoyed :D Be sure to check out the description box for all the links!
I do not see snap shot and all the anki card types
Hi , please can you make a video on how to use controllers ? 😇😇 thanks

FROZEN FIELDS!!! You have saved me so much time with my ANKI card-making - thank you!!
I had no clue about Anki... so you mean to tell me that you create all of your cards? That is insane! To create (which is time-consuming) and then study. Wow, that is all I can say.
Card making is one time investment.....
in the beginning it takes time later on you fly
The dark mode add-on is also helpful! Thanks for the great video ❤️

Can you do a tutorial on how you set up your Joycon?
It’s in the description box? The unlisted video.
Rachel Southard completely missed that! Thank you ☺️
Hail Vector !!

Is Anki only for your specialty or all specialties? Also, do all med schools use this across the U.S.?
Can you ask Victor to link where he got his monitors? Thanks!
Hi Rachel! I am starting medical school in a little over a month (eeee). Is there anything you wish you would have known about Anki before starting school? Can you ask Victor what addon did he download to have all the stats on the home page? Also how do I set up my game controller for anki?
Thanks
You're glowing bb ♡
Does anyone know what add-on Victor uses at 8:42 that shows these progress bars for each deck?
