Hey, Zach. I'm starting medical school in 4 weeks and found this video extremely helpful. I'm hoping to start AnKing right when school begins, focusing on using AnKing to supplement the relative lecture material. Great vid!
@@ZachHighley Thanks! One question if you don't mind. If I have Anki on my iPhone, laptop, and desktop, and I finish studying let's say, a few hundred cards on my laptop, do I need to click 'Sync' so the cards and algorithm that I've just studied/produced will sync to all my devices? Or does it sync automatically? Hope this question makes sense. Thanks again!
@Morgan Heitt no problem, the recent updates of Anki have an auto-sync feature built-in, but I personally don't trust it. So the answer is *yes before you switch from studying from one device to another you need to hit sync.* Anki on the desktop will also auto-sync (which I do trust) every time you close or open the application. Let me know if you have any more questions
You are just cute I am in first year in medical school and just realised how bad my study methods are and in the process of setting up my anki, thank you 💕
I got my new card steps at 5 and 30 mins. Since there'll be more time inbetween the revisions, I will get through more cards and it's harder to remember cards just by their visual/short-term memory imprint. Now, I need to spend more time on each card because they'll just get kicked out of short-term memory before I get to see the card again and hence I need to really focus and engage with each card, when before I sometimes just skipped through cards and still got them right 10 mins after. Congrats to almost 40k Dude!!
