    Great ending to Sandalwood September! Thanks for the shout out Kevy, I've been using OSP soaps for most of September, Bart sent me a couple of samples, loved the lime one, full bottles of balm & splash arrived on Friday along with some of those supermax blades you have been using.

    Great shave. It was a great run of sandalwood shaves throughout September. I enjoyed watching these shaves as usual like many other shaves you've done onscreen. As this month comes to end, you start to feel like you can use whatever you want in October because it gets tempting using a soap with a different scent after a run of monthly themed shaves. I got nothing to say but have a great weekend

    Great shave Kevy.
    I have to echo your comment about skin looking better with DE shaving.
    I've been DE shaving since the beginning of this year, and my skin looks and feels a lot healthier and spots are a very rare thing for me now (although I didn't get a lot before DE shaving, it's just I get even less now). Even my partner has commented on my skin.
    The only skin problem I had with DE shaving, is when I used TOBS. My face went really red and felt stingy and hot. After that I went to Wickham soaps and their balms, and I've never had any other problems.

    Hey Kevy, I have to make a confession.... The first time I saw you do the face wash with extra lather after completing your shave I thought you were crazy. LOL. So now a year later I had this incredible lather from Eufros Zanzibar tallow soap and I'm like let's do a Kevy and really enjoyed the Eufros all over my face. And post? Yes. Cheers, Mark

    Good evening Kevy! The Blackland Blackbird is a step-up from the Dart. I think my Dart is a very efficient razor and I need to be careful what blade I pair with it. Lately, I have been using Treet carbon (black) blades and find those are magic. When I went to Pasteur Pharmacy I bought the PAA Atom Rocket brush...great brush eh? It is my opinion, razors from the likes of Karve Shaving Co, Above the Tie, Blackland, Rex, etc...those are so well make and worth the money spent. Do they perform better than a less expensive? If the measure is getting the job done, then no. If the measure is a more enjoyable shave experience and/or longer lasting shave, then yes...they perform at a superior level. My ATT Windsor Copper is so smooth...almost like no blade in it...and gives a close and comfortable shave always. The Blackland Dart is not as smooth or as comfortable, but a light touch and two passes will give you a BBS that lasts 30 hours. Kevy, what is that in the upper right corner of my screen...above the shower door...red color...I can read classic...is that those toffee biscuits? Oh, Imperial Leather soap...lol. Anyway, great shave! Thanks for posting. Take care.

    • @kevyshaves4109
      @kevyshaves4109  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I get my Dartback, I'm gonna do a comparison vid. The PAA brush is really good, I love the feel of it in the hand. Most razors do the same thing - shave the stubble off - but it's the build quality and materials used that you're paying extra for. I enjoy using a £10 razor as much as this Blackbird, but you can really feel the difference in quality. If that were toffee biscuits, the packet would have been empty! Al the best. Kevy 👍

    • @toddf9321
      @toddf9321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, looking forward to the comparison video for sure. The PAA Atomic Rocket is a monster...and a classic beauty. I can agree with that...workmanship, quality, superior materials, optimal design, aesthetics are the reason for the increase cost. I can get behind a functional piece of art. I will still maintain they make the experience more enjoyable and they are more efficient in their work.

  • @terrym1065

    Nicely done Kevy, great shave. I'm thinking you like the Blackbird better than the Dart. I have both and find the Blackbird less aggressive, contrary to the Blackland website,,,!? IDK. OSP I've never tried, like the label with the incense cones though. Sandalwood September is over and it was a good series. Now for October and Autumn scents etc. Another great video and chat. Enjoy!

      Hey Terry. The Dart is out on loan to a fellow shaver at the moment but when I get it back, I plan on doing a comparison shave with it and the Blackbird. It does feel a little smoother than the Dart, less blade feel for me. I stil like the shave from the Dart too. Thanks for watching and the comment. Kevy 👍

    Wow, that razor was indeed more than worth the wait! In your opinion (I know you've only used it once thus far) is it significantly smoother than the Dart!? I was ordering the Dart but waited when I saw in some of the forums that it is quite efficient bordering on being outright aggressive. I know this is more expensive but seems to be worth it (at least for me). I like aggressive shavers but for daily shaving smoothness just can't be beat. Cheers, Kevy!

    • @kevyshaves4109
      @kevyshaves4109  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does feel smoother than the Dart, not by a great amount but for me, the Dart has a bit more blade feel on the face. I still don't think it's smoother for me than the Rockwell 6S but I've not used it with different blades. That might make a difference. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

      @@kevyshaves4109 well, I just tried shaving. And I'm happy to say I have emerged unscathed lol. Decided to go for it and used the dart with a polsilver super iridium blade for the first shave. No nicks or cuts this time, but theres always next time lol. Not super impressed with the polsilver blade sofar. Felt like it was grabbing a bit and not just cutting through smoothly, though it might have to do with how thick my facial hair is. I didnt get quite as close as I do with my straight razor, but its not bad. Only went for 2 passes till I get the hang of it. I'll try the rockwell 6s next time and with a different blade. My only real issue is that I'm 6'4 and have to hunch down to see myself in the mirror near the sink. Otherwise all I see is my chest lol. With a straight razor I just sit at my desk and wipe the blade as needed, instead of having to rinse it off in the sink like you do with a safety razor. But, all is good and I look forward to many more shaves to come.
