I think Beau scoring 20 again is less likely even though I want him to win NCAAs badly. He had 2 pins in the Round of 16 & Quarterfinals which was unusual for him. Hoping he makes a Luke Pletcher - esque jump and starts bonusing guys & pushing the pace
It's just wild that Penn State smashed the record last year, and it was actually a significant underperformance for them. Davis - the 1 seed scored almost no points in a bracket that everyone agreed you could draw the names out of a hat instead of trying to figure out who was best. Nagao - the 4 seed scored almost no points in a bracket where calling him 4th was a little disrespectful. Bartlett - beat Mendez in the duel, he was everyone's favorite. Starocci - he looked like an adult wrestling children, I guarantee he gets a fall in most of those matches if he wasn't protecting his knee. Truax - based on seed, he was expected to do a little better, he had a weird hit or miss year.
You’ve gotta be a penn state fan. So much ridiculous stuff you just spouted. Calling Nagao 4th is disrespectful? If anything that’s respectful. He was an AA who took 5th and then took some loses to none AAs. Was shocked he even got 4 with his inconsistent performance. Bartlett was the favorite because he beat Jesse once?? When Jesse got the most recent win in B1G 10s? How is Bartlett the favorite??? Starocci was a given considering how hurt he was. Then Truax I actually agree with. Expected him to get the penn st effect, it didn’t happen.
@@rustygray5058 that’s fair. However, while I do believe Penn St under preformed some things just wasn’t that much of a shock. I also think it’s not just all about talent. I don’t think any other guy in Penn St is insanely more talented than guys like Meyer Shapiro, Ladarion Lockett, Jordan Williams, Caleb Rathjen, Troy Spratley, and Drake Ayala. I think all of those guys have insane talent, I think the difference is just coaching. Cael took RBY, Carter Starocci, and others who WEREN’T the #1 in their class. They even took loses to guys they’re soon be better as. If you asked anyone back in high school who’d win, Daton Fix or RBY, everyone (those not associated with RBY) would’ve said Daton fix. But Cael turned those two into monsters. In my opinion, Okie St has just as much underlying talent, in which I see DT changing that program. 2 of the starters for penn st currently are trained by DT. Levi Haines and Tyler Kasak. Then we have Zack Ryder also trained by DT (M2). Coaching makes the difference with elite guys at this level not just talent. Nick Lee is a HUGE example of this.
@@xzjayz7925 Really Penn State's whole room has been trained by both of them, so it will be interesting to see over the next few years who ends up being the better developer of talent

Wouldn’t say “no way.” Parker has beaten him before. Obviously both have gotten A LOT better since then. However, Starocci is still injured… saying “no way” is kinda stupid.

Yeah and those pins were (iirc) last thirty second “how did he pull it off” type pins. Don’t see it happening again

Great overview! Thank you for doing that work.
A very good analysis. I think if they could get 1 or 2 extra points from 133 and/or 197 they will definitely do it. Excellent analysis. I enjoyed it.
184 will have both Parker and Munoz, 2 big challenges for Starocci
Will Cael beat Dan Gable's Coaching Career mark?
The changes with riding has destroyed Nagao's effectiveness.
Facundo at 157? Isn’t that the new rumor?
Total domination by PSU this year
Gotta update this a wee bit. Aint no way Greg taking the title if Gable is back 👀

I don't see Parker beating Starocci......ever. Ya PSU will score more than 150, maybe more than 175. No drama in who's No. 1. The fight is for 2/3
Parker's probably the highest IQ wrestler in NCAA's currently, especially with mat awareness. Imo it's a coin toss who wins, slightly favoring Carter.
@@cgmach9395 Ya, well said. Parker vs Carter the key match for me. but Levi vs O'toole should be a good one as well.
Only a possibility if Starrocci doesn't wrestle
Start mirasola and get that +15 points at 97
Lilleldal will win 125. No way Starocci loses either.

Parker can beat carter but he can't beat him at ncaas
it's just a little boring when you know what team is going to win handedly
Watch Bennett Berge beat everyone at 184.. handily
He's Not even scoring a takedown against Starrocci
Shane van injured
Again?
This is so boring. I've honestly lost almost all interest in college wrestling because of it. High School wrestling is far more fun.
