- The cultural performance, “Hangzhou, A Living Poem”, which featured a symphony concert and gala on water, was staged alongside the West Lake. The show, put together by Chinese director Zhang Yimou, is a cultural fusion of the East and West, with traditional Chinese music blended with a touch of Western classics.

The Chinese sure know how to put on a show. The Olympics were by far the most impressive ever and this was also very beautiful. I guess no one can top the energy and creativity of over a billion people.
and faultless execution too by about a thousand performers on stage, counting all singers, symphony players, dancers.
India over a billion of peoples are possible to make it too

After watching the 2008 Olympic game show, i came to here. Man, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics totally changed my view on Japan.
the director is also the director of 2008 Beijing olimpic opening ceremony ,his name is "Zhang yi mou(张艺谋)"
The show, performers, set up, area, stage, background and presentation were spectacular!!! I am not Chinese but I feel proud. No country has ever put on such a outdoor show for world leaders. Such incredible planning and meticulous timing. China is really a rich cultural powerhouse. The leaders fortunate enough to attend really should be astounded. President Xi and First Lady and China really did such a good job to welcome everyone. Bravo to China!

Congratulations to Director Zhang Yimou, he should seriously be considered for an award of Lifetime Achievement from UNESCO ( Create one if it doesn't exist! ), Hollywood Oscar, Cannes & Golden Horse Motion Picture Awards, ... etc.

I have Polish roots, I am impressed, beautiful. Me and many Poles like the Chinease art, it's different from European. Especially I like the watercolor paintings - I like it very much. I have 3 small pictures after my dead Family (1 was in China).

Long time ago a Chinese teacher said to me, it was hard to put on The Swan Lake, because though one or two good dancers were easy to find, it was hard to find 4 dancers for the group dances. Now we have two dozen swans, plus 50 fake ones. What a spectacle.

Before G20， there has been another opera named the memory of west-lake. Different from this video, memory of west-lake is more related to the local culture with Chinese ancient dancers and songs. In my view, I like the memory of west-lake more than this opera on G20 summit. Welcome to hangzhou, and you can enjoy the memory of west lake any day.

We witnessed it in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Now he did it again for 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea and 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia
Wow, a fireworks show in China !!! Their fireworks is a beautiful spectacle, so well organized. This water show is fit for an emperor.
I am so proud for my hometown, some of sections in this gale are perfect mach Hangzhou's feature. The first perform was a dance to imitated the movement of people who were picking green tea's leaf from tree plants. Because Hangzhou product a famous green tea which called LongJing Tea.The second perform was YUE opera which also originated in ZheJiang province.
I love Hangzhou too. Been there 2 times. there's something about that place that seems to be calling me back. Im a foreigner working in Shanghai.

The background.landscape, it was magnificent. The "Except From Swan Lake" ballet is breath-taking. The show brings back the rich culture & traditions of China & different stories of Legends "MoonLit Night on Spring River," "Picking Tea," and "Beautiful Love Story" between Zhu Yintai & Liang Shanbo is fascinating! He also directed the closing ceremonies of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games. Recently received special award from Venice Film Festival for his contributions to Chinese and world cinema. His upcoming movie, Shadow, will hit Chinese cinemas this September.

This absolutely awesome performance was the result of meticulous planning and punishing schedule. The Chinese have gone to great lengths, the extra mile, to welcome the world to the ancestral homeland of Chinese everywhere. Entire swathes of residential properties were purchased at above market prices just to make way for the reinvention of Hangzhou. I salute the government of Xi Jin Ping because she has done a great job and brought awareness to the culture of the Chinese while honouring the beauty of the international communities around us. And remember, China has been a peace-loving nation throughout that entire history. When China leads the world affairs, there won't be international bullying like today. If China had been a country like Japan, do you think Japan would have any chance to invade and massacre China like it did? or would it have a chance to still exist today as a country? or would Europeans have any chance to take the America continent? So the world has no reason to fear a stronger China which for a great part has been forced to become stronger by the constant threat of US military power in the last 60+ years.

This show was played at a thousand years old lake -- West Lake（XiHu）. At the beginning, it was a part of story about the 1st emperor of Qin, then it was used to dredge canals in Song Dynasty. Today, this lake met important people from all over the world. As if you can see and touch the development of two thousand years. This makes me very touched and proud of being a Chinese young people.
JUST IN CASE you misplaced your personal invitation to the G20, The video of the evening's entertainment, which was the equal of the Opening Ceremonies at Beijing. Without question, the Chinese are incredibly gracious hosts, and do not scrimp on the spectacle, when they are on the world stage. Truly beautiful presentation, the likes of which you would rarely witness. Definitely worth enjoying.

China is not a lucky country, especially not lucky in past 200 years. We used to be the largest country and the most advanced agriculture civilization in the world for the most of time in past thousands years. However, we fell behind in the industrializaiton competition happened 200 years ago because of the arrogant emperor. Hundreds of millions of people had died in continual invasion wars and civil wars since then. And if you look back the Chinese history, we were never a lucky country. Long before the Westerns, Chinese was ready to step into a industrial society. But every time we were about to initiate the industrial revolution, shit happened to China (flood, extremely dry weather, traitors, enemy invasions etc.). After those disaters, we had to start from the begining over and over again. The whole Chinese history is about rise and decline, like a loop. China's rise today is not only based on luck, we make our own luck.
Chinese have done much much more hard works to make China look lucky. And people's lives in China are getting better and better now.
