Great video love your stuff! With all that said if you ever looked up Jeff cavaliers variation on this? He does what he calls a rocking tricep push down, with the purpose of the rocking being to be to keep the angle of force consistent at the bottom. obviously not trying to critique you or anything I watch both of you guys to learn stuff 😂
3:00 I like that idea. I personally have a tough time feeling the lateral and medial heads of the triceps working on presses put partial pushes like push-ups or dips have helped me connect with these muscle groups and I'm seeing good results from it
One of the best bodybuilding and fitness advice channels. John has a phenomenal amount of experience and knowledge. Subbing this channel is one of the most positive things I have done in the past 6 months to facilitate my gains.
been focusing on concepts you nail in: drive blood in there, order exercises right, proper intensity,. Arms are growing, elbows and shoulders feel better. Thanks for passing the knowledge on!!!
Doing this today! Your videos are getting better every time! I’ve been doing that kettle bell curl for a few weeks... at first people were looking at me like I was committing a gym fail? Between that and more hammer curls my arms are bigger than ever! Thanks Dog!
One of the arm supersets I like doing is seated dumbell curls with your arm behind your body on an incline bench and then bring it up for skullcrushers or vice versa.
Quality content as always. Sounds like a great idea with the tag on instagram videos, but with that I just learned that I am ONE muscle-y wuss, apparantly. So I'll share mine here in the comments instead! I really love supersetting barbell curls with weighted dips - put a "handled bag" for walking lunges between your legs instead of using the belt! That way the transistion is quick as hell. I've never felt so much blood in my damn arms before.
For a super swole I usually do EZbar curls with 20-25lbs on each side and squeeze hard with 45second rest roughly followed by tricep kickbacks, for a super massive full arm pump. Also enjoy the hammer curls followed by one armed tricep-rope pushdowns to get that super squeeze at the bottom when you pull the rope back that little bit.
My favorite tricep exercises are close grip bench press as close as I can go. I've gone up to 335 on these for a few reps. I usually go barx10, 135x10, 225x10, then 315 x3-5, 335x3-5, then back down to 225x10 for a last set. I also love weighted dips and dips for triceps. For a great pump in the triceps I love the Hammer Strength seated tricep machine. I can go heavy and knock out sets of 10-15 for a great pump.
My favourite superset on arm day is for Triceps: EZ bar tricep Extensions(4x12)/Seat Pushdown (Assist seat for chins)(4x12), and for Biceps: Dumbell preacher curl (4x12)/Ez Bar cable curl. With the EZ bar cable curl I superset that with two movements, the bottom half like a regular EZ bar curl, and the second half is the top half of the movement with some shoulder flexion but super squeeze on the biceps at the top. (3x10/3x10). Unbelievable pump on those supersets.
A good superset I just tried. Set up an EZ bar attachment for a cable stack at the low height, do a set of cable curls to failure, then flip around and use the same attachment for an overhead extension triceps extension. It was heck of a burnout.
This channel has to get to 8mil like our other Coach over at you know where. Amazing stuff, and he came from Westside! I'll really like to see how you would include speed and power work in your hypertrophy programs for athletes.
Damn. I commented on your arm video from three days ago asking your opinion on supersets for arms and instead of a reply you upload a whole video on it. Great content as always
Not a biceps and triceps superset but I love supersetting EZ bar concentration curls with standing cable reverse curls with EZ bar and false grip. I tend to go heavy 8-10 on the concentration curl and lighter 12-15 on the reverse curl. Arms feel like they're going to explode after!
I got to say Mr Meadows I sub to a few fitness & bodybuilding channels & your channel I find the videos the most informative with a great mix of inventive exercises which I’ve used to add to my catalogue of exercise choices, thank you Mr Meadows 💪, I always love supersets, drop sets etc
Today is actually arm day so ... see now I'm in a bind, I have my own superset that I use, but I like to play around with your techniques and see how they work for me (fyi - almost all of them are 100% 🔥 for me 🤙🏻) .. Looks like it's four sets today! #sorrynotsorry #nopainnogain #gainzz
First things first: yoyo wizardly is there, so the video is certified. Questions: - Is the easy-bar preacher curls equivalent to these concentration dumbles preacher curls? - For the triceps, there a variation i like a lot and it is easier on my elbows: the overhead cable with v-shaped var or robe. Does it have the same effect as the cattle bell exercise you have done? how are they different if so. I find that some triceps exercises hurt my elbows and/or shoulders (e.g. military press hurts the shoulders initially but later reps are ok). Sorry for the long comment.
My trouble with biceps was mind-muscle connection. I started doing spider curls over an incline bench, that helped. Also lying cable curls. Triceps, have no problem with. Kudos to Alexander!🏋🏻♂️💪🏼
How many body builders died a 2 weeks from first or second covid Vax? We should know by now. Took people in their prime. Good immune system weak heart or plaqurd arteries should have got medical exemptions.
I do a reverse tricep push down with a straight bar and then without letting go of the bar do a high straight bar curl (thats from the top setting) to the forehead.
I need to try the 2 handle pressdowns. I do pressdowns for warm ups but never honestly like them. They just never feel quite right but I have a hard time breaking old habits.
I saw you do the kettlebell tricep one before. I liked it so much I went out and bought 2 kettlebells, because I have dumbbells. But the kettlebell bicep one is new to me. It kinda looks like a drag curl exercise. But I'll try it.
All great videos from you and good tips .just starting to get back into training in my 40s . But got tennis elbow any tips for trying to train around it. I do use a elbow support .
Hey John right on man today I'm working my arms I was doing one of your previous arm workout programs for the last couple of weeks today I'm switching to this program 👍💪

He does what he calls a rocking tricep push down, with the purpose of the rocking being to be to keep the angle of force consistent at the bottom.
obviously not trying to critique you or anything I watch both of you guys to learn stuff 😂
Thanks man! I never focused on hammer curls that much, but since watching some of your videos I do a lot more. Total secret weapon for huge arms.

Man, seeing ya boy hit them yoyo tricks reminds me of my childhood. Back when I watched videos/ dvds on how to do yoyo tricks
Arm day is today. Timing is impeccable John! 😎
God Ibless mountandog,I miss him and I never met him. Such a classy man.
The yo-yo tricks bought back some good old memories from when I was a kid😃
John is hitting PRs with upload frequency! Great content man, keep going. I would like to hear more about core/lower back workouts.
LOVE your videos. Like Old school bodybuilding with modern thinking! And your son is so talented!
Doing this today! Your videos are getting better every time!
I’ve been doing that kettle bell curl for a few weeks... at first people were looking at me like I was committing a gym fail?

John, my spongy grips are ordered from Amazon and will be here 3/6/20. Thank you again!

Love the arrow that comes in around 0:51. I finally understand triceps pushdowns. :)
That KB superset at the end is amazing. Never done skull crushers with kbs before and it was the best. You’re the man John!!
RIP John. You will be missed but never forgotten!!
In his honor I wrote those preacher curls as "Meadows Curl"
For a super swole I usually do EZbar curls with 20-25lbs on each side and squeeze hard with 45second rest roughly followed by tricep kickbacks, for a super massive full arm pump.

That was awesome with the yoyo, I loved the yoyo when I was a kid but i wasn't near as skilled as him!
My fav superset for a really good arm pump is drag curls and then diamond push ups with a slight pause at the bottom.
Jon you and your kiddo are amazing. I love your content and hope you'll keep posting.
John you're the best! Content is unlike any other
As a Dad i love how you include your sons talents in your videos

Exercise 2 you should call Mountain Curls. The bench looks like a mountain and you're mountaindog. I think it fits.
Tried it tonight and enjoyed it. It's always good to try new ways of doing things. Keeps it interesting. 👍
Hammer curl and Pushdown
Alt DB curl and machine Pushdown/dip
Preacher curls and overhead tricep extensions
Hi John thanks for the three superset for arms as always, perfect. Jim Harrison. UK.

I like sometimes to do supersets of heavy barbell curls (6-8 rep range) with slow hammer curls (12-15 rep range), pump everytime!

Love your content, John! I'm a new lifter and your videos are very helpful!
I do a reverse tricep push down with a straight bar and then without letting go of the bar do a high straight bar curl (thats from the top setting) to the forehead.
Yo yo skills are on point! And great content for the arm workout too, thanks John!
