RIP. I remember asking him something about the lower back. He, to my surprised, responded with great advice. I saw his comment and the next day he passed. My cat passed away yesterday. The same day this video was uploaded. Prayers to the meadows family, I hope the kids are doing well.
You know… me and my grown son do several of John’s unique routines or at least integrate parts into our workouts. Parts that are our standards unerringly. So yeah, great great exercises and executions from John, here. Super help for a 65 yr old lifetime gym guy and his 28 year old son. NOW, reading the comment here…. I was really taken back not having known John had passed away. Can you imagine having been doing his routines for 2-3 years and seeing him fresh and vibrant and reading he’s been gone for almost 4 years! I am really affected by this as if it just happened. So strange. Wonder how his family is doing. Wow. The best Dad those boys could have ever had and husband, too. It’s really crazy. We are going to commit to doing a lot more of John’s training now. So he lives on in us and many many others who knew him personally or, like us, through his awesome and unique videos. Thank you , sir, for everything ✝️
I still use his videos as references to improve my techniques and development. He was a great teacher who was at another level. Thank you to the person or people who are keeping this going! R.I.P. Mountaindog
Man I always watched John when I was active working out. I eventually stopped going to the gym due to responsibilities!.. Now I'm getting back and needs a starting point again , surprised he's channel is still active! . its like he is always there for me still teaching and waiting if ever i work out again. Thank you john for all the knowledge you shared you are one of the people I look up into and is my hero.. Thank you so much Mrs Meadows for still sharing all Johns knowledge and keeping him alive in our hearts.
THANK YOU so much for keeping this channel going. There's so much bickering online between different experts but nobody has anything negative to say about Mr Meadows or his techniques - he's the man.
Great video. I wish I watched this a couple years ago. Went heavy on Ez curls and I'm still paying the tendonitis bill today. Great tip on starting with tricep first to warm up the blood.
He is. No schtick needed. He’s a straight shooter with great information. Very few like him. I am a 62 year old, in good shape, female and he speaks to all regardless of age or gym experience. I am sorry he left us too soon. Did one of his leg workouts today. I am sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow!
Miss him. Trained hard trained good. Genetically I couldn't get my arms above 17 inches. Everything else grew pretty good. I shifted my focus and now I powerlift instead. Play to your genetics.
Wish he was still around so I could ask him why I cant get a good pump on almost any exercise. I can feel the muscle but never that yuge pump that I get from forearm curls, leg extensions and high rep benchpress.
If you look at his playlist, I am positive you can find the video or playlist you are looking for. Look at Eugene collaboration or muscle feel playlist.
Just throwing something out, but i would imagine it has to do with not drinking enough water or maybe missing/low amount of certain aminos? Especially if you can really feel your muscle contract. I love super slow negatives and drop sets for painful pumps.
@Peter-cp7xx Definitely not water then. That's what I would think. I would try to get some and see if it helps. There's a few that help, my favorite is L- Citrulline and L-carnitine. Citrulline is a precursor to nitric Oxide so it helps dilate blood vessels.
I love his training. I train also in weights since 80s. Why people want to get muscles? ... I love it! Is it so beautiful? Is it a healthier way to approach? What ever it is for everyone individually, I it is like imitating the ancient people today but today we are too many. Please use condoms!
I think people over train arms. See so many guys do in like eight or nine exercises for bus and tri's, and never getting anywhere I do three exercises for bis, In three exercises for tris . But every little guy out there comes in the gym and runs to the dumbbell rack to do a buttload of dumbbell curls and then they go and run and do a buttload of push downs and overhead extensions and dips and then do some more bicep curls and some more bicep exercises and they still are 6'2 with 15-in arms. And I'm like 5'5 with 18 in arms lol.
For beginners and intermediate lifters 10 - 12 sets per week of direct biceps is plenty personally I do a heavy week 8-10 rep sets then medium weight week of 12 -15 reps and only going to failure on the last set of each excercise, works perfectly
Maybe I missed it, but may I ask if anyone knows how he passed? Just came across his channel, what lured me in was he makes the most since through all the other workout clutter/videos. Thanks

I read the comments and feel sad. I have been following this channel for a while, but obviously not that well. Isn't John "with us" anymore? Did it happen recently? 😢(Sorry for my poor English, I am swedish)
Triceps were always worked on Chest day. Biceps were usually on Back day, I worked mine twice a Month. They are a small muscle hence the name Bi-cep. When I powerlifter I worked them like I said twice a Month-Heavy. 65lb preacher curls, 70lb hammer curls then just the forearms and yes John is correct about the tendonitis I got shots every year for mine. Now I just do 45's on Hammer curls, just to get the blood in them.
“They are a small muscle, hence the name bicep” ? No, there are two working heads, hence the name bicep. Bi means 2, cep means head. You can train arms way more than you did because they are smaller muscles and recover faster without taking a toll on your CNS unlike heavy compound etc
Please keep recycling these vids. Until his son or someone else can do a breakdown and add onto these classics with newer content and expand the brand ❤️
I can only agree with you on the leg extension is not a machine that o recommend for anyone. Otherwise I really think you should get some experience and knowledge before you push inaccurate information. I mean a Trx single leg squat as a beginner exercise? Not likely.
Who ever is keeping this channel going thank you very much. May John R.I.P.
They do it to generate revenue
I have watched dozens of fitness trainers. John is still the very best. Sorry that you don't appreciate his abilities.

@michaelcarter3149 i drink alot every day. Work in construction. Heavy job, and warm too. So I drink 3-4 liters every day. Might be aminos then?

After biceps workout my arms kind of locks throughout the day from the opposite of elbow part, how to prevent it.
Does John discuss his favorite weekly (splits) in any of these videos?
Sadly, John passed away. But this channel has plenty of videos where he does talk about them.

I probably actually train biceps like 4 or 5 sets a week, my biceps get work when i train back, same with chest and triceps.
He can’t hardly breathe. Looks so unhealthy
He was a legend in bodybuilding community. You are a nobody. I can see 855k reasons in this channel to teach you if he was unhealthy or not?
Well he did pass away unfortunately, nobody said he was the standard for health.
