      @TeachMeGrappling  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dragontoothflamer8625 it’s not directly applicable because it is wrestling technique done without strikes… having said that the more you develop your wrestling skills, the better you will be in the clinch going for takedowns. 🤙

    Good stuff coach. Always love your work. Hey to defend the 2 on 1 It's all about pulling your elbow back to your side. Once your elbow is to your side then can peel or post. The elbow is the key to stopping all offense. Also when someone does post on the head take your left arm off of the arm pit and pull the arm over your head. I have seen and completed the pushing of the arm many times, but they always, 100% of the time, end with the person sprawling on you and placing you in poor position. Pulling the elbow and changing level will improve the position. Last tip, your right wrist when you have the 2 on 1, pull it up to your arm pit and chest out. This will apply significant pressure to the elbow making takedowns even easier. Good luck keep up the great videos.

    Pius is wrong, Russian 2-on-1 works great against Jiu-jitsu wrestlers because they keep back stepping all the time. There's no forward push like Greco wrestlers, crouched-to-shoot like Free/Folkstyle wrestlers, or steady stance like Judo wrestlers.
    Russian 2-on-1 is a good way to get a hold of a back stepping opponent, without shooting in. And most guys who don't know stand-up wrestling will react exactly with this Hand-on-head Arm pull as coach was showing here, so it's good to know the counter to that as well.

    At 10:58 the left foot forward doesn't allow power more than it let's you extract your arm to the open side so the shoulder can retract back into a spine neutral position.

    It's interesting 🤔I will try it next time in the Wrestling workout, but I think against a very good wrestler the first step won't work...

  • @estevanalameda5852
    @estevanalameda5852 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why would you want to pull your arm out? Your already in good postition to secure opponents elbow and get good underhook position then can get a hip toss or lateral drop. Or you could always secure opposite elbow and go the other way and snap down to cement mixer or gator roll seems counter productive to try and pull your arm out plus you'd be setting up your self for double legs or highcrotch.

    I am not a wrestler or a grappler so I am here to learn.. I like studying and practicing MMA from a self defense prospective. We use a lot the Russian tie in training especially as a control position Vs weapon. Anyway I still did not find the best solution when opponent can strike (instead of fraiming like you show) with the free arm. Infact you do not see the Russian tie used in MMA professional fight and maybe for this. Do you have any suggestion? Please if you can make some videos in the future more "self defense" based. I like a lot your teaching... Thanks

      Not an expert but my guess would be bc the opponents other hand would be free to strike you in the face since you're facing inward. With a regular 2on1 you're facing outward so you can't get hit in the face.
