    Honestly one of the best ned rig tips I've seen. So simple, but so overlooked. That completely solved my issues with the fact the other styles haven't had enough hook gap on a finesse style head or ned head to effectively pin bass or walleye ect . This does all while still remaining stealthy ,slick and actually still finesse . Those super sharp hooks pop through quite easily on lighter equipment as well. Thanks for sharing this !

    I like finesse fishing and I like to throw bladed jigs and crankbaits. I already figured out rule #1 - duhh. I am going to try and rig it like a shakey head. Sounds like a great idea! Thank you for sharing with us.

    Brother Brian, if Ned rigs are all you have in your arsenal, then you got more colors than Sherman Williams! Evidently they have never seen the crankbait, plopper, frog, spinnerbaits and chatterbait videos. Love ya brother. Take care!!

    Bro! I've learned to set up my nedrig up the Texas rig style awhile ago and it has been (to me) the most effective way to catch them lately. I pitch and flip right in to the thick of it with no issues. My nerves get bad when I'm using a 6 to 8lb test line and hook in to a 6lb bucket mouth, but it works...lol. Always loving your vids my dude. Keep em coming!

    Great tip. I'll have to try this! I don't like the wire weed guard ned heads either but I have had great success with the finesse bulletz head. I just started playing around with the Owner Blockhead ned head as well. The hook is a bit bigger than I'd like but overall it's worked well so far. Gamakatsu has one too but I don't care for the head design. I don't throw around wood but I'm a bank angler and my lake has a ton of grass so once summer rolls around I need a weedless ned head so I'm not pulling in a bunch of hydrilla every cast.

    I just got back from Table Rock Lake and we had no trouble catching lots of smallmouth with the Z-man Ned jig heads with the wire weed guards. It didn't seem to interfere with hooking fish at all. I was surprised. I did buy some Z-man Ned jig heads with offset hooks that allow you to Texas rig Ned worms that I am eager to try.

    Dude, I fish it down here in Florida and always catch at least one when I can't get a bite on anything else. I just use an offset ned head. You can throw it anywhere on those hooks. I don't use the finesse bulletz. It's another brand and I can't remember what it is right now. The whole reason I even tried a ned was B-Lat videos.

    To me a Ned rig looks like a Beetle Spin with the spinner removed. I fished that way as a kid back in the late '70's. Now I just use spinnerbaits or Rat-l-Traps when it's cold and buzzbaits or pop-r's when it 's warm. That's just the way I fish now. I purposely keep my lure selection small so I don't feel like switching much. I have 2 decent outfits so I don't like switching lures often.

      It will catch just as many big fish as it will small fish. If used in the right situation.

  • @skipdockside
    @skipdockside 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    They way I see it, if you're not getting stuck on rocks from time to time with a ned rig, you're not fishing it right. In my experience, the lighter the ned jig, the less you'll get caught in the rocks. More current, more wind, go a bit heavier. If there is a lot of current, don't let it sit too long. If you do get snagged pop it out, snap it out and let it sit. You will get so many bites from this lure popping it out of a light snag.. DONT throw it at lay downs, DONT throw it into the weeds or pockets. This bait is rock-star, pun intended. Sand bottom, rock bottom, gravel, road beds.. etc. Ned's are dirt cheap, and you can afford to lose two or three through a day of fishing.
    Tight lines my friends.

    Throw a chicken rig around snags.

  • @eriklarrison4996
    @eriklarrison4996 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That’s actually bad advice! When he says don’t throw at snags! What I’ve always lived by is if you aren’t willing to put the bait at risk then you aren’t gonna catch fish! And when he says he’s never cashed a check on a Ned rig! That’s funny because I’ve caught plenty of 20 to 25 pound bags on a Ned rig! And when he says he uses a 1/5 th almost all the time. That’s bad advice as well. A 1/5 th is great if it’s really deep or it’s moderately windy or if the fish are not being finicky. But if it’s not all that windy or the bite is tuff. A 1/5 th won’t be worth a damn! Rule of thumb you want to use the lightest weight possible with still being able to keep contact with the bottom!
