    This video is a catch all for me man. Great content. Ive been looking up what people think on throwing a tickler vs a trd and this answered it for me right here. "When one don't work...pick up the other one"

    During the spring in SE Louisiana, I have caught some nice ones on the green pumpkin orange TRD Crawz. I also have had good luck with The Deal, PB&J and motor oil. I've seen a few colors that are wild but not sure how good they would work here mainly Twilight but also Mood Ring, I haven't heard anyone around here say they have caught anything on those 2 colors but I'm sure there's a time and place for em.

    An old guide at Seminole once told me "I don't care what color, what size or what type of plastic it is. Just as long as it's green pumpkin." Sure enough 12 months of the year he fished it. Sure enough the old guy landed big fish all the time.

    In salmon fishing. We talk about something. The color of the river (depends on geology, vegetation, soils, river bottom etc). There are brown rivers (flow through forestry often). There are blue rivers. White rivers (practically clear). Orange, pink, yellow. You name it. And it can make for stronger takes. If your bait matches color of river. You guys obviously have, another color that many great salmon rivers are. Green rivers (green baits work, in green rivers). A while back. I started to observe the water I was fishing. Thinking about it. In this way. And there is something to it.

    • @BrianLatimerFishing
      @BrianLatimerFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The guy I mentioned actually referred to salmon fishing when he told me about color choices.

    • @academicmailbox7798
      @academicmailbox7798 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianLatimerFishing What the soft plastics have in terms of properties, is semi opacity. Or semi transulent properties. Meaning that. What the fish perceives. Underwater. Is not 'two colors' to the Ned rig soft plastics. But rather light that shines 'through' the Ned rig plastic. Filtered by one side of the Ned rig plastic. And then filtered. By the second color. Of that plastic bait. What the fish is attracted by. Is whatever 'color' is produced by the light underwater. Being filtered 'through'. Two shades of semi transulent soft plastic. That is an effect by the way. That you can't obtain. From using one color. To the plastic.

    • @academicmailbox7798
      @academicmailbox7798 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Ned knew about salmon. Then more than likely. He read books such as Irish man Kingsmill Moore's 'A Man May Fish'. From the seventies. Check it out. It's all about mixing two semi transulent shades of material. In the one bait. To trigger takes. And Kingsmill Moore got that idea. From guys who discovered it. Much earlier. The nineteenth century. They were boat anglers in lakes going way, way back. It's 'what they did' as their job.

    • @timperry6095

      Most prey has a light belly/dark back configuration, so rig in that manner if you want the bait to look the most natural.
