It’ll absolute ruin your engine given enough time. Not just the cats but running too rich or too lean is very bad for extended periods
Mines been broken for a year the idle has gotten to 500rpms now so gonna get one
Thank you bro I just did a cat delete I didn't think they would play that big of a role in the air fuel mixture thanks bro
It won’t damage your engine. Just cause it to be sluggish at lower RPMS. Trust me
To say, "it is an easy fix, it's just a sensor" is only true if the exhaust is not rusty and the sensor screws right out.
Guaranteed it’s rusted and guaranteed. It’s not gonna come out easy.
Well I'm Happy to say mine came out Like Easy Peasy Thank God for Anti Seize 😂😂😂
02 sensor removal tool
It ruins engines u liar, mine starting misfiring and stalling. Everyone kept saying it’s the transmission, then it started revving bad after a couple months. Now I can’t go past 25 miles on drive with out the acceleration stopping and slowing down. Went to autozone, found out it was O2 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2. I fixed that little part and gave car oil change and now it’s working like no problem
Sounds like your car went into limp mode
It doesn't do anything to your engine. Misfires are caused by spark plugs
Bro my mdx is doing the same!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
@@SerbyWafflesTechnot just spark plugs though
Yeah my car did the same thing so changes it immediately facts
My 2003 g35 is misfiring while it is cold and for 5 10 minutes while stopped a popping sound from exhaust will occur is this what happens when u have a bad 02 sensor someone help much appreciated
I remember my sensors 02 in my chevy camaro i ran like that for almost 3 months before i replaced it now this year they went out again have to replace again .
Would it shake and stall?
What happens is I replaced all my oxygen censors 6 months ago and a code popped up today with the same issue? Could it be something else? And also I already got a tune up
Check for bad wiring and connectors to the sensors
Ya but whats going on if your allways changing them something els gatta be happending
Roll of thumb, anything that makes your check engine light come on should be fixed ASAP, but you can still drive to work. The computer will make the car run rich until the problem is fixed and can eventually cause your cat to clog, so don't dally. Now if your check engine light is FLASHING, DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR. That means it's having an active missfire in
Will the o2 sensor cause the car to shake bad when you’re going high speeds 65 to 80?? I already replaced tires and had alignment done.
the computer will sometimes get confused on how much air it should mix with the fuel with a bad o2 sensor, but if you're moving that fast, unlikely, check your suspension and make sure everything is tightened to spec
and that everything isn't worn out*
mainly for idles
It will hurt your vehicle. Clog your cat
Good thing I don’t have one ;)
Bingo. I learned the hard way a few months ago. Replacing a $50-$75 part can save you thousands on a cat for sure!
Good thing I got a full catback exhaust, sensors went bad and never bothered to replace. ‘12 tl
How long does that take. I need to drive it for a week before I can have it replaced and I’m assuming it takes months of build up for it to actually damage it
@@bigoofinthechat5496 you’re good.
Would it be making a loud muffler sound if the o2 sensor is bad?
no , but if your catyllic converter went out, that will cause a louder muffler, also if your exhaust has bad gaskets, that will cause it, or if the muffler is really old and rusty, that will also cause a louder muffler
NO
Thank you
You're welcome
Lol you must me joking
To call this easy process.
Tells me you have no idea the level of difficulty that you can create
Yeah, just remove a sensor. It’s welded in there from years of driving.
PS he didn’t tell you that is in the exhaust pipe. Not fun
Does a bad o2 sensor cause hard shifting?
Check the engine and transmission mount . Get the parts at a shop and also find someone with good experience. If they charge you more then 400 for labor they are ripping you off
And change oil on car every 3k miles for longer life
@@UncleMartinez-cn5hq thank you, I actually found out it was all 4 of my Speed sensors causing the hard shift

Where is the 02 sensor located
Just made a video showing you !

Above and below the cats
My cars shuts off when I'm in a stop sign or red light
Mine does as well could that be the o2 sensor
@@jaymedina9023 I just changed and it did run better . But now shuts off when idle . I think it's the fuel pump and filter. I already change spark plugs oil filter cables and clean the fuel injectors. I don't see any air leaks.
Try crankshaft sensor
@@italianozuzu1232 Have you fixed your issue yet. I am also having the similar problem
@@italianozuzu1232try the evap purge valve and charcoal canister
If you have no cat,do you need the sensors🤔🤷🏼♂️🤔
Nah if u don’t live in a spot with emissions either that is then they don’t truly care lmfaoooo honestly just dreadfully waiting until my 04 Nissan is a 25 year old that way I no longer have to do any type of emissions for the truck !.. lmfaoooo can’t wait ima turn this thing into a beast..
yes you do need them its how the engine controls fuel to air mixture, a catalytic converter just keeps the air we breath clean (can be deleted if you have no emissions testing and hate clean air ) and the muffler is there to make the car quieter ( can also be deleted to make vroom vroom noise )
Yes have them installed and go catless lol. You’ll be running rich or lean other wise
@@AntiMaxerIve been wondering why my car has been shifting and accelerating so poorly ..Good thing i saw this video .. plus I scanned the car .. P0430
