    I think it also depends on the journey frequency, a contracts manager I knew had to fly from London to Barbados up to Arizona on to NewYork then out to Washington and back to London, it all had to be done within one week 😬 initially they chartered a jet as it just couldn’t be achieved flying commercial, before buying a 10 year oldish G450 when the need jumped from once a year to every six weeks

    instead of buying flight hours from a third party air charter operator under the fractional ownership program when you could be the operator (similar to COMLUX & NetJets) & user at the same time without having to pay a penny for charter!!! as an air charter operator you acquire a fleet of 13 Bombardier GLOBAL 8000 ultra long range biz jet & 3 brand new A321-200 Neo LR ACJ in addition to 2 Embraer LINEAGE 1000 E2 . . . and lend out the fleet to customers for charter under the fractional ownership & other charter programs!!!

    Thank you for the interesting video, I am working on starting a business, when I make the level of success that I hope for, I will buy myself a private jet and go for my full licence and type ratings to fly single pilot, and pay all the taxes where I live in the UK, I will hire two pilots and two part time cabin crew as well and look after them very well financially and otherwise so that when I am flying a relative or friend in the back there are two up front, if I'm going alone on business or to see friends on my own I will fly it myself and the pilots are there for when I have company or am flying a long way or helping charities and individuals with angel flights (I will give free use of my plane to charities and needy individuals)
    I will also take on a jet card for the option to rent a bigger plane periodically when my own is too small and am also looking towards getting the correct hours and ratings to be able to short term hire a small regional occasionally to take disadvantaged families on vacation/holiday by the bus load from the UK, USA and Canada, to places like Disney Florida, skiing in Aspen and trips to Iceland and Crete etc.
    Have a safe happy and well day everybody 👍

    As a pilot and someone aware of the enormous cost of owning and running a flight department I’d have say WHY to own a private jet. Perhaps before the advent of such fractional ownership companies as FlexJet, NetJets and others it could of made sense for quite a few business professionals. Now however it’s an extreme luxury that from a true economic standpoint would be hard to defend. After all didn’t people who can afford this sort of thing achieve their successes by MAKING money instead of pissing it away ?

    If you are really rich I'll save you 12 mins: Partnerships, Fractional, Lease Back, Own operate outright. The advantages of:
    *Partnership* - you share cost with some loss in availability
    *Fractional* - you get use of other planes so if yours is down for maintenance you have backup, but cost is premium.
    *Lease Back* You own it, let a Part 135 operator pay you an hourly rental to recoup some of your cost, not always avaiable.
    *Own outright* - This has risk but maximize availability, wear and tear on plane. Cost could be lower if airplane doesn't have a big maintenance event, scheduled or unscheduled. If you are owner operator (pilot) and want to fly it, cost are lower, but in the end ALL JETS ARE EXPENSIVE.... See item one.... BE REALLY RICH.

    Fractional does work for some. It is exactly a time share arrangement. The disadvantages of fractional is 1) you have asset on your books, 2) you have very little control over value at the end of the agreement, and 3) it's a rather "socialist" arrangement in that everyone picks up the tab for those who live farther away from the location of the aircraft.

    • @justinsimmonds5674
      @justinsimmonds5674 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While fractional ownership may work for some, it is a much more difficult arrangement to get out of than either a fully-owned jet or a membership-based program (like what VistaJet uses). At the end of the day, people with a need for private jet access need to do their research, read the fine-print on any documents which need to be signed and decide what works for them considering the benefits and drawbacks of each approach.

    • @shadowmist1246

      @@justinsimmonds5674 A place like here in Canada, there is no vistajet like company for domestic only flights. Lots of "and we do charter too" companies --- extremely varied quality with very old aircraft with lots of financial pressure to cater to jet owners. We do have Airsprint that gives vistajet like quality and consistency but that is a fractional company.

    • @justinsimmonds5674
      @justinsimmonds5674 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shadowmist1246 I see… At the end of the day, there are laws and rules which the jet companies have to follow regarding transport of passengers. This makes availability dependent on where in the world you are.
