I feel like having a good teacher is important in maths or just someone who controls the class well literally every Monday we are supposed to sit a past paper in silent like the other classes do but my teacher just lets everyone talk and do what they want
Awesome vid! To add a couple of extras to your past paper points at 10.09 1. Make sure the past papers are the right syllabus and not an old curriculum! (sounds obvious but getting this wrong happens a lot!) 2. When you can't do a question in a past paper or get it wrong: Step 1: look at the mark scheme for the answer Step 2: write all the qs you can't do in 1 place Step 3: Try answer it a few days later 3. Don't over rely on past papers (apart from as you said maybe for maths). For Science / History / Geography etc they're just spotlights checks for you. Hang in there guys!
POV: you're taking your GCSE's in 2021 and 2020 GCSE's never happened and you need to prepare regardless of what might happen Edit: thanks for the likes and I guess it’s all tags now (teacher assessed grades)🤷🏽♀️

Thank you so much for motivating me to get started on my gcse preparations even though I am in year 10, but my flashcards are more on question answer kind of thing because I found that it works for me better that way instead of just summarizing the full lesson on two sides of the flashcard.
most accurate and specific video in youtube so so far, unlike famous youtube videos that give tips i dont understand like what the hell are you talking about?! Thank you for this emma❤️
I am currently studying Cambridge IGCSE and taking exams. The techniques described in this video helped me a lot for revising knowledge. Thanks for sharing! I am a Chinese senior high student. In fact, my school bans cellphones (and sometimes bans iPads and laptops). I usually use flashcards in my school and Quizlet at weekends and holidays. I always read books and notes again and again, watch videos and use online resources and past papers.
Seneca saved my science grades during GCSES 2019, I went from getting 2s and 3s in Physics and Chemistry for all of secondary school to managing a 5 and 6 in physics and chemistry only using Seneca. Not the best grades and more work could've been put in (I really hated science) but still progress :)
@@kiraxopatel4656 i cant help with maths as it wasnt my strong point, but i loved lit and got an 8 in it. essay plans were very helpful, also doing brain dumps where u write as much as u can about something for 2 min, then add anything u missed out in a diff colour. eg i did macbeth so writing everything i can remember about lady macbeth on a piece of paper. or you can choose a theme eg ‘violence’ and write done where this is displayed, quotes etc also if ur teacher is willing to mark a practice essay from u, thats really helpful also knowing reoccuring themes, context and strong terminology really helps in ur essays, in order to show elaborate and thorough knowledge to secure strong analysis. always develop your points further, and when you’re writing something ask yourself ‘this means that...?’ which will ensure youre elaborating what you mean to the examiner :) i hope this helps :)

Hi, I need a little advice, I’m sitting my GCSEs this year, and prior to now I’ve revised for mocks but proper GCSE revision I haven’t done. Is three months enough? Also how much revision do you do per day in the week? I get home at 4 and I think I’m going to do 2-3 hrs a day... maybe only 2 I would appreciate any advice :) Thanks x
Hahahahhahaha No obviously im not emma but i would say that 3 months is fine. there’s a lot of conflicting information- some people say to start in easter, some people say that you should’ve started in september, a lot of people start in march. realistically 3 months is enough to get through all gcse content as it’s a lot of memorisation. personally i’ve just started doing an hour per subject per week (ish) so that’s about 2 hours per day, excluding the weekends, which leaves them free for homework, practice papers, and sometimes nothing tbh paha. i also use adapt so i do those topics as well, but i only spend around 5 minutes on each as a quick recap. for reference, i’m predicted all 7s-9s though whether i actually get those is a different matter :) plus, mock revision means you already have a strong foundation yano so you’re fineeee
Depends what you’re aiming to get, for example I’m aiming to get grades 8s and some 9s hopefully and I have not started my revision yet. But from all the people I have spoke to and have been in the same spot, it is possible to get the grade you want. You have to revise everyday with the same amount of hours so you stay in the same habit. Taking a break for a few days will have a massive impact as it will only build up your laziness. So start now, do 2 hours a day and maybe more on the weekend and you will definetly get the grades you want if you put in the effort. Also I recommend aiming for the highest grade so you have a higher chance in achieving the grade you want.
Do what suits you to organise your revision. Some people like to create a revision time table outside of school hours whilst some, like me, prefer a weekly to do list of all the topics to cover for each subject every week.
I wish I came across these videos and actually listened to them when I was doing my GCSEs last year. Although I did do some of them like watch a few TH-cam videos and write notes and I did use Seneca a lot. x
