If you still would like to use EQ after that, then here are a few ideas that should help: -If things sound muddy, either try a low-pass filter around 80-100 Hz, and / or a cut of a few dB around 275 Hz (with a Q of around 3). -If you want more "Air", try boosting around 1750-2000 Hz with a wider Q (1.5ish). -The hissy "highs" are around 6-8 kHz. Anything above that isn't really doing much for a guitar. -Less is more, and cutting is better than boosting. Adjust to taste, and I hope this helps.
Man I’ve watched loads of your funny videos, will it chug, reviews etc.. but this is the first I’ve watched or heard anything from your band and I loved it.
да это очень хорошо играет. я тоже играю Лес Пол и российского производства педаль tonebender. я использую Sovtek усилителя с перегрузкой через небесные педали. опять же очень хороший звук, сохранить хорошую работу!
I think he's referring to the water droplet effect on the screen. On the Icarus Lives video, most of the filming is done through frosted glass with running water on it if I remember correctly.
That solo should be played by the edge of a volcano's cliff while in an eruption at a night whith a rain of stars while the Halley and Tempel comets crushes against each other at Ola's back to achieve the level of EPICNESS it deserves.
Some people multi-track their solos (Randy Rhoads would sometimes even triple-track his, so it's worth a listen with that in mind), while others only do a single take (such as here). In terms of EQ'ing, you should really try to get the best tone from your amp and microphone as possible. It's well worth your time to DI a solo or something, then re-amp it using different mic placements to determine your favorite, and again while tweaking the amp settings.
I'm sorry, but it really depends upon what you're doing. This here was a single take, if that's what you're wondering. You should try both and find out what works best for yourself. Good luck!
Chappers doing a great work with these guitars really nice video btw i dont know why but while i was cleaning my guitars fretboard my nut fell of like a feather does that mean i have to buy a new one lets say a chapman :D ???
Sick guitar and sick playing. i guess its fucking sick then? you betcha it is. I nearly bought the ML1 until I got my hands round an ML2. these guitars are serious machines. Try one out!
Hey Ola ! Nice vid as usual, sounds killer ! I have a little question: would this RD45 head get along with my schecter atx C-8 and my orange ppc212 cab to get a "feared-like" kind of sound ? Can't wait for the new album :p
Well, I am certainly not Ola, but I do own a Randall Diavlo. Well it is the 20H version, but still. And I can assure you, that the RD Series is perfect for a "feared-like" kind of sound. I would definitely recommend the Randall Diavlo series to every Feared fan. The amps are amazing. \m/ #JustMy2Cents
At the condition that the guy playing it play it good. Bad performance is either impossible to sound great or simply require so much editing that you will lost all your time fixing those errors! Ola plays good, making therefore possible for him to sound like a boss even if the gear is shit.
andertons dot co dot you kay they ship to US so I can only assume they ship to Canada. They're only available through that UK distributor that I know of so far.
One of my favorite amps... as a keyboard player. Randall RD45H (I played on the red version, plugged into my homemade rotary speaker cabinet, in a studio) Unfortunately I don't have a video featuring that, cause the 45W SPL wavefronts would make my smartphone distort and I didn't have the money to ask the help of the studio to proper record it with mikes. (and the band playing with me was loud)
Nice demo. Do you play these guitars as sent by the manufacturer or do you do your own quick setup when you get them? The reason I ask is 2 manufactures can each send guitars with the same pickups but the distance between the pickup and the strings could differ affecting the output, clarity, tone, etc...
Wow,are all those sounds come from this amp, clean, rhythm and solo?Very good bang for buck.I considering buying it for my home studio recording.Does emulated DI sound any good?Best regards \m/
could you please do a playthrough video of the rd45? looking forward to buy an rd100. watcha think people?? i need a new guitar for heavy, too (will be a prs s2 custom 24), don´t wanna stick to my mexican strat with sh-4 in bridge any longer... shell i buy the rd100 with the prs or buy a new amp like the bogner übershall or mesa mark v, first and wait for the prs? can´t decide... :/
I have been following you for a few months and I love the videos , your writing is incredible What do you think of the ML-1???? I want to get one sooo bad
thanks man, I'm very open about my influences and Petrucci is definitely in the top when it comes to solos. Others are Jeff Loomis, Per Nilsson etc...
Awesome video dude, really glad you like the guitars \m/
What’s not to love? Your guitars have actually driven me to create my own as well.

I love this amp!

The solo reminds me of "The Count of Tuscany" a bit. Awesome as always, Ola!
да это очень хорошо играет. я тоже играю Лес Пол и российского производства педаль tonebender. я использую Sovtek усилителя с перегрузкой через небесные педали. опять же очень хороший звук, сохранить хорошую работу!
OMG!!! Ola plays melodic doom metal? Sounds very cool!!!

I don't think anyone would have / did actually mention it besides you.
No more DI-files? I can understand you don't want to give them because it's one of your own songs, but I really liked it when you did that. :)

Hey Chap. What's your best guitar for modern (sylosis) and older (metallica) metal while running though an line6 toneport into podfarm/guitarrig ?!
For my taste, this was the tastiest, sexiest lead sound I've ever heard from you! Awesome!!!
Metal Forces Forver!)
is there a difference in the rd45 and rd20?
I'm assuming just the wattage.
