@@benproctor7 I've spread this vid to the 4 corners, when I first saw it. been coming back when I can, ever since. I spend most my time in Arkansas, and my internet SUCKS there. I live in the Mountains, good for freedom, not so good for youtube! So when Im at my home in Ohio I try to catch up, and KT has been a busy guy I can see!!
Guitarz 5150 definitely more old school what i like also. I like Ola and Keith also, but old school is always more brutal and awesome than modern metal.
3 months later....Randall Diavlo still sounding incredible....hard to beat the price for what your getting. Should be a few used one's out there for sale by now. I love it's simplicity....plus no pedals needed....3 channel ripper! Great FX loop if you want to add some effects....Extremely happy with my purchase.
Seriously can't stop listening to this, incredible tone. I don't know if its the Diavlo or the BlackWinters or the combination but MAN this tone is to die for.
Just bought this head today and i have to say this video sold me it for sure! theres alot of shitty play through and review videos out there but this ain't one of them. so stoked to get this amp for sure. Digging the track as well. Real Exorder, lamb of God type groove! \m/
I was looking for a new killer amp. I tried the Randall Diavlo 100 watt two days ago at a local store. I absolutely fell in love with it. The GAS is strong with this one. I'm definitely buying one once I have the money.
Just bought a rdh45 on reverb. I've heard people say they have a hard time getting a good tone out of it. You have to turn the presence all the way up and push the front with an eq but you can get what you want out of it. Can't beat the price either
True. And you know what other amp needs to have the presence really dialled up before it shows any effect? The industry heralded 5150/6505; the presence dial almost seems off until it’s pushed past 7.5. People should dial with their ears and not their eyes. Putting a dial at 7.5 and beyond isn’t that difficult.
Very awesome playing man!!! Thanks for the demo of this amp and the pickups!!! I'm looking at ordering some black winters and I think this sealed it for me! Gearhounds had a really good deal on them last week so I may just jump over there and get them. Thanks again!
Man, I could listen to your playing all day. Awesome tone too. I ordered these pickups for my Jackson. Now to get as good and tight as you. I will post back in a year or 10. Mad skills ! Thanks for sharing, mate \m/
hey..question dude..can ya do some Zakk wylde on this..do me some stillborn...Just a little vid..connect in a pm on fb..facebook.com/GhostriderSdmfJim...thats if this head would do some zakk Black label..
That lead tone is fucking awesome! I've been researching a lot lately. I'm extremely impressed to hear a tight, aggressive rhythm tone and such a warm singing lead in the same amp. I'm sold Boom
Each take includes a 57 and a 609 track. Each take is blended how I want it then panned hard left and hard right. So each side has a blend of the 57 and 609.
Wow!! thanks for the wonderful demo on this amp. Three nights ago I was online getting ready to order the Bugera TriRec after months of following up; then I accidentally came across some forum discussions on Mr. Fortin teaming up with Randall, so I had to check out the RD series and was just BLOWN away. I have to admit I haven't followed Randall amps/developments in almost 20 years because I've never been impressed with their sound. Now, thanks to Fortin and your demo (along with a few others out there), Randall had just returned back to my list of favorite amps. I'm SOLD on this one. I'm buying next pay day!! Thanks a bunch.
loooove it!!!!!!!!!! You know, I honestly don't care about solos(not YOU, just guitar solos in general)... it just all sounds the same weedly-weedly blah, blah... but when you kicked into the riffage at 0:52, my spirit soars!!!! THAT is why I play guitar - THE RIFF IS KING.
Just bought a thrasher last week. Killer amp! The RD 100 is next. I've never been a fan of Randall, didn't like solid state, too thin sounding. Now the new tube amps with Mike Fortin's name inside, totally KILLER!
Not only is this a sick ass composition of a song but that amp sounds phenomenal I’ve been looking for a great amp to play metal but also have the versatility to do multiple styles it seems like this could fit the bill!
If your looking for some brutal tones and a great clean channel at a reasonable price, look no further....buy it. I've only had mine a couple days now and I'm loving it!
you have convince me to buy this one, i have a custom guitar equipped with a SD Black Winter also ! Always looking for the perfect tone and this randall nailed the idea of the tone that i want : a little old school touch but tight powerful and agressive.
well Jason....you sold me an amp..Randall should give you a bonus...LoL...my Diavlo should be here tomorrow. I've been playing my RG80ES for so long i never really wanted another amp until i heard and saw this demo! Kudos man....I've got a mint early 80's Randall 4x12 cab ready and waiting for this head...........stoked...and rock on brother!
Holy shit, I've been trying to find a relatively inexpensive tube head with a ballsy low end forever. Thank you so much for this video, I'm definitely going to pick one of these up. I play predominately punk, but this has that mpf that I love in a tone.
Make sure to test it before buying, the oomph comes from the les paul, people say it can't do metal, but they are excellent for that, even with original pups on it.
Got a randall rvc, a new black winter bridge and sentient neck in my schecter gryphon 7 the sound is very awesome. Now i got to get a lil bit better at making guitar noises like you.. killer my dude.
I just ordered an RD100H and RC412-V30 cab(US) Thanks to your demos on the amp line. Just a little nervous it's going to sound crappy at lower volumes. Thanks Jason! Can't wait for the UPS guy!
Pure tone!!! warm, clear, tight and punching! i hate the sterile/cold modulation sounds, the diavlo delivers that 90s/80s metal sound minus the cons: lack of definition or mudiness!! Awesome!
From the sounds I am hearing from Randall lately not nearly as well as you! Need to contact Mod Squad regarding that 5 watter, Curt's vid sounds awesome. Very happy for you Mike and hope your run continues!
Very Marty Friedman at the 3:10 solo and that was said in a good way. Your man grooming blowing marty away though. Good to hear you play bro, always a pleasure.
killertonetexas This is warm-blooded metal riffs. Like it more than cold Scandinavian style. Feels like there is love in it. Great work! Btw these new Randall RDs sound mean... I am getting RD45 and your work probably contributed to that.
Yeah this amp sounds just like this video! Too bad I can't play this fuckin good though! Lol Just picked this amp up today and I couldn't be happier with it. Thanks for the sweet demo Jason \../
Nice to see n hear contemporary metal played on an "old design" gtr (LP Custom), but I notice the CHANGED PICKUPS! ~ Myself I play li'l Mustangs with the "wired pickguard" replaced by a LOUD DMZ, GFS 'Power Rails' or Ibanez V5 mounted "slightly north of" the bridge position -- It works for me!
killertonetexas Yep, killer tone with dials basically at noon. No OD needed. Only problem ... need an attenuator .. this thing shakes my studio with Master past 1!!!
on the amplifier's EQ, put the mids to a fairly low setting. Many people do it because it sounds alright when you're playing alone in your bedroom, but in a full band setting it's completely stupid, because guitar is a midrange instrument.
I'm trying to decide on a tube head. Really digging this amp. It's down to the diavlo, thrasher, 6505 or Invective. Thrasher and Invective are in case I score enough cash.
Hey, this is my own original composition. Glad you dig it.
This was so catchy I remembered it from when I was looking for amps years ago and came across this video. Fantastic music man!
it's not possible buy this composition ?
Man me and a buddy would just keep coming back and listening. It's so good

All these years later, and this still sold me on these. Still the most brutal demo.
I bought 2 Randall heads in the last year and I don't even turn my Marshall on anymore. If you play metal Randall is the beast you are looking for.
I like this guys vids a lot more than OLA or MERROW!
His metal style is more of what i like

Ola sucks in guitar riffing

Just ordered one last night! This is clearly the best video of this amp on TH-cam!

Randall Diavlo and Black Winter pickups. Lets get ready some jazz tunes.

Alex....you will love the Diavlo RD100H....play it through a good 4x12 cab w/some v30's....brutal....love it clean as well as dirty.
I just found this video and holy hell, the best playing on any demo ever. I’ve never heard this amp sound so good.
Dude your playing is killer! By far the best I've heard in a while killer right hand!!!
It's nice to know that as we speak, they are getting installed in my Gibson SG!
your playing is stone cold groovin' my man. your leads have feeling, and your riffs are flowing.
Thanks, man!

The Randall Diavlo series is a great line up! From the smallest combo to the biggest amp head! Randall amps can kick some serious ass......
Randall Diavlo RD100H + Mesa rectifier 4x12 rectifier w/v30's + Black Winter Bridge PU/ SD SH2N neck PU + ESP LTD MH-1000 = my perfect set-up.
Definitely need Black Winters in my LP now
Killer playing dude! The amp sounds phenomenal with your Duncan loaded Les Paul. Cheers from California!
