There has to be a balance between offense and defense. Sometimes throwing the first strike is the BEST defensive option

Why not use both in certain situations I call that improvising

Better or effective? Goju Ryu Karate has all the elements to create a deadly warrior. It uses hard and soft element's of the martial arts. And it's primary focus is kyusho jutsu. Which is focus on nerve and arterial strikes that can kill or incapacitate your adversary. Tang soo do is derivation of shotokan karate, and it's primary focus is using the hard elements. It's more base on agile footwork and blunt force force trauma. Goju Ryu is pretty much simple applicable, it wouldn't take much too finish off your opponent.

Tang Soo Do is based on Shotokan, Subak, Taekyon, & Northern Shaolin Kung Fu.

Interesting questions answered! Miyagi-Do vs Cobra Kai... But where does Eagle Fang fit?

For the sake of argument, I’m gonna say eagle fang is just cobra Kai with ethics

@@FreestyleMartialArtist Lol! Good answer. Marginal ethics but a goal anyway!

Watching karate kid, really only saw the series making Cobra Kai the villains which they lived up to very well but in the CK series, I learned that both Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai have a lot more in common than they would ever admit. Including Johnny and Daniel. The series showed that ancient Miyagi-Do karate had no problem “striking first” according to Chozen and Johnny was trying to incorporate ethics and honor in his Cobra Kai. Even the students themselves seem to have a lot in common, the difference is their senseis. That goes for Johnny and Daniel as well. Now as far as both the styles of their martial arts goes for either competition or self defense, I believe both have their pros and cons. I also believe that both offer great things for that reason as well as for life too. But they cannot be looked at in black and white. It can’t be MD or CK. I believe they both need to be balanced and they also have their place to be used. Yes in terms of MD, it’s important to have balance and know how to win in life and to understand the awareness and have the ability to avoid violence if necessary. I also like the circular motion too. But you have to know when to flip the switch and that’s the benefit of CK. When push comes to shove and you can’t run or anything and you’re in danger, it’s really not an act that you can take too kindly to. Like if there’s a threat and you’ve tried everything you could to avoid it but you can’t, you have to take action. However I don’t like the idea of taking those same actions into a tournament where there are rules, you entered the tournament knowing and agreeing to the rules and the only way to win is by playing fair. While the movie will have both sides being set in their ways and having that “My Way or the Highway” mindset I believe that a balance between the two and knowing it’s places will go a long way. On a short note though, I’m a UFC and WWE fan and you know they’re all about being a heel which plays right into Cobra Kai so as a fan of the series I’m hashbrown team cobra kai.

For me the most Unbelievable Thing was that guys who did "karate" back in their teenage years call themselfes Sensei. Even they probably did not practice since then

While I do agree those points with both characters funny enough I actually have looked into what their ranks are in their respective martial arts Johnny is a second-degree green belt in Cobra Kai Karate and while it doesn't seem to really be clear what Daniel's rank is in his style but I can consider the fact that Daniel trained with him literally tell his death because within the series Daniel claims to know everything about his style meaning that he would likely be a black belt In this sense I would consider chozsen a second or third degree black belt somewhat higher then Daniel because as we saw Daniel could hold his own relatively against him chozsen is really just a slightly better fighter obviously he knows The secret techniques of their style this is why I only call Daniel a black belt claiming to know everything about his own style but not knowing about this secret side of his style there's obviously more that Johnny needs to learn about Cobra Kai as well considering he isn't a black belt himself in his own style so really there's room of improvement on both characters sides once again I do agree with your points about the characters though I just this might make the conversation more interesting

so technically, johnny could of still created cobra kai because it still had offense and defense, maybe Johnny should’ve kept the first 2 rules of cobra kai and changed the last one which was “no mercy”he talked about mercer and honor so the new rules should of been “strike first, strike hard, have honor” sm like that idk

Secondo me tutte due bisogna avere. Offendere e defendere.

Clearly the video missed the real meaning or essence of Miyagi Do... They never were the same nor will ever be the same.
The video creator is using the new Cobra Kai Series to prove his point... This series is a total disaster made by a bunch of people who have not understood neither the core nor the essence of Miyagi Do, "Eagle fang" nonsense proves this fact. When they themselves don't understand how will they give Daniel or Chozen the right lines/content to impart the real Miyagi Teachings in the Cobra Kai Series!!!
In fact One of the season ends with Miguel letting Roby loose and getting kicked down the staircase breaking his back, giving the audience the feeling that it was wrong to be merciful and instead if he would have finished Roby using Cobrai Kai No Mercy Style, he would not have suffered so much!! Thus totally missing the point that showing Mercy does not mean one is to become dumb, celebrate early and lose focus & control over the Situation/Attacker!!! it ONLY means you don't go for the kill (While Cobra Kai Teaches to Finish/Destroy/Damage needlessly even Kill when possible, this is just one of the the many major differences)!!! For Example Snake Wranglers don't go to "Kill Deadly Snakes and Rescue People" They go to "Rescue Snakes and save them from being killed by People (who are afraid of Snakes and Dont know how to handle them without killing them - this is the reality of most Martial Art System that people know of that sell by exploiting the fear and hatred of people who only understand Retributive Justice and not Reformative Justice.)". These Snake handlers train to handle it so carefully without hurting the snake without hurting them (Showing Mercy) but never losing focus of the snake (as it will bite them to death the moment it gets a chance) till it is fully under control and safely put away. Thus the mistake Miguel made was to let his guard down and let go of the focus and control without ensuring that Roby had actually given up and calmed down. I thought they would clear that in the begining of the next season but they didnt obviously the writers themselves are so limited in their understanding of Miyagi Do.
Miyagi Do has no First Attack, it never will have and to understand that one will have to go beyond the Combat Mindset which Homo Sapiens Driven by multiple fears that give rise to ego, hate, competition, spite and vengefulness will never understand!!!
    Anyway to each his own!!!
