Dear Mark, thanks from the bottom of our hearts for keeping Ram Dass and Alan Watts legacy alive! Two great minds talking on Bhagavad Gita, which is a much needed Instruction Manual for the mankind! I revere both the speakers. The way things are going today in the world, it would be a wise step to understand and follow its teachings! It does not talk about any particular religion. It is a "Way of Life"! It is astounding to know how the Great minds of Western world had openly praised the worthiness of Bhagavad Gita. I highly recommend the seekers to read with an open mind, esp. as mentioned by Ram Dass.
praise the Lord God for giving Alan Watts a magnetic voice to attract listeners, so that they pay attention to his deep philosophical findings !! Thank you Mark Watts for giving your father eternal life through his unique voice! God bless you
I don’t look at Buddhism or Hinduism as Religion. To me they are more ways of living. To me, Hinduism makes so much sense to me. I believe that if you do label Hinduism as a religion. It’s the closest to the truth, in my opinion.
@@sweetchinmusic3 good way of putting it. Hinduism is so beautiful and has so many facets to it. A fun fact, the Bhagavad Gita predates the Bible by 2,000 years. It’s 4,000 years old and Christianity is 2,000 years old. A lot of the stories from the Bible were stolen from the Bhagavad Gita. For instance, Abraham is actually Lord Brahma and Sarswati is Sarah. Not all of it is stolen, but there are too many stories that are similar.
@@deveryhenderson8335 I am entitled to my opinion. Whether it jives with yours or not. It’s a way of living. If you were to follow any of it teachings you would realize it.

I didn't catch the exact word, but it is a derivation of the Latin root of the word sacerdote (spanish)= priest. It referred to the priestly class Brahmana (?) in Hindu society.
There are many versions available in many world languages. The number of pages depends on its contents, like how and what is included. If you want ONLY slokas (verses) mentioned, it will be a thin book. If you want the slokas, their transliteration, meaning of each and every sanskrit word, the translation in brief, finally, the full explanation or analysis (this is usually the commentary by the author, the way he interprets) of each sloka, the book can be more voluminous!
I know right? I would like to learn Sanskrit. I know there are places that teach it. But, still you never know if you are getting the correct translation.

Arjuna ask Krishna, “is the battle to take place on the field or in my heart? “Krishna answers, “I see no difference. “
It took me 5 seconds to read your comment. Can I have it back?

What is a fully realized soul?
One who knows himself, and in knowing himself, knows God within himself, and perceives God in everything.

Hinduism.. The eternal and most scientific religion..

@@Evolvingwithin777 So true! Hinduism is a spiritual way of life, rather than a religion..

how is Bhagavad Gita "a short book"?? It's over 600 pages

How does one act totally spontaneously?
Whats the best english translation of the gita?
you can buy an english version from any bookstore or online
Just be sure NOT to buy the ISKCON Version by Prabhupada. I like the Swami Sivananda version.
@@OnlineMD totally agree, I’d avoid the iskcon one. Sivananda one Is great also one by swami Chinmaya is very good.

Swamiji Mukananda and Swamiji Yogananda both have translations that I would see to be trustworthy. Especially yoganandas.
Yes yes, we know that is your daddy
You can't allow your kids to walk to the bus alone these days
Alan Watts seems to say very little with a lot of words.
Thank You
