    I have an issue that once I turn on the valve, it’s leaking from the back of the handle. I tried to use a hex key to open it but seems like it does not match. I can see the screw head as it’s deep and rusted. Any thought on how to open it? Thanks.

      Sorry for the delayed response. If you are talking about the black cap after taking the handle off...then I believe you will have a problem. The handle engages the black cap to turn the valve within the stem. Did you solve your problem?

    • @designbypeck198
      @designbypeck198  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply - I hope you got it solved. If you can lubricate it....then go ahead. My cartridge was really hard to remove, and I did a lot of wiggling to finally remove it. I know when I installed the new faucet cartridge, there was a lubricate in the package which helped the installation.

    How do I turn the one shower off temporarily while I get the new tube thing??

    • @designbypeck198
      @designbypeck198  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will be a shutoff valve. Some bathrooms have it on the back wall behind the shower valves. You might see a removable panel on the wall behind the shower, and if you remove that, there will be a hot and cold water valve. In my case, my bathroom didn't have one, so I needed to go into the basement and turn off the whole house water. If you don't know where to yours is, there will be a pipe coming in from outside the house, through the wall, and usually in your basement if you have a basement. This pipe will have a shut-off valve. If you're not sure where to find it, look for your hot water tank, and follow the pipe backwards where it comes into the house, and you should find it. Make sure you turn off the valve 'before' it splits between the hot water and cold water pipes.
      Let me know if you need more help!
      Chris
