- Westlands area is an upper middle class neighbourhood located 3.5km from Nairobi CBD.
From the onset,Westlands was initially a residential Area, but overtime with the relaxation of zoning regulations to zone 4,allowing for high-density development of both residential and commercial property, it has grown to be one of the key commercial hub in Nairobi.
Great infrastructure such as good roads, hospitals, education institutions, shopping malls,restaurants, social amenities and financial institutions have been the driving factor for real estate investment in Westlands. Most of International organisations are now seeking to establish their regional hubs as a result.
This video will give you a chance to see the changing Face of Westlands especially the residential area in 2023.

The private sector is overworking, doing nice malls and apartments and hotels but the government is totally missing in action. Those streets are just ugly, no proper matatu termini, zoning rules flouted coz kiosks and hawkers are setting up at every available space. Is this the same Westlands that should rival Sandton? Yikes!

And so in that regard, I had some notes. The buildings don't fully show on the video,
Maybe do some b-rolls to fully show us what you see. From different angles.
Also it feels like the pace is too fast, and just one take.
And also feels like you didn't do enough research on new developments, street and building names and your just 'winging it'.
Would also be great to get some feedback from you on the development changes and suggestions you had in mind to improve the area.

Impressive indeed. Max respect. I haven't been back to Nairobi since 2015 so Westlands is almost unrecognisable to me. I do remember Westgate mall and the neighbourhood very vividly though.

If you go to Dubai and Sharjah, you will never see any electric cable wether on the streets or inside the buildings and yet there is light allover.

I hear vibadas were demolished in Westlands by sakaja this month that were turning that area into another karioko market in the streets due to uncontrolled hawking and building of illegal kioks and vibandas is it true there no more kioks.i live in westi though i work and live in London and i use to feel aggrevated to see a controlled environment like Westlands where people invest their hard earned money turning chaotic.

When you see highrise building in a city don't be excited. Especially residential area.That is the beginning of slums ....Kuala lumbar and other cities in Asian have highrise building because of population....Europe you don't see this because they want to preserve the neighbourhood
High rise buildings is a sign of development in town because it is not cheap to construct them.

It depends on the kind of business you want to invest in.
In places like Nairobi especially Westlands; you will need a lot. Almost, $50,00
That's keeping in mind about rent or buying a piece of land. You can also choose to rent in malls since malls are coming up in numbers in Nairobi, such as the BBS mall in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
Apart from such areas you might also consider other middle class areas in 🇰🇪. it's quite cheap to start and run a business but returns are good but not as good/ promising as in areas like, Westlands, Upperhill, kilimani and many more
