Oh my gosh, I can help. I'm autistic and one of my favorite things is explaining totally normal things in detail like no one knows what I'm talking about. Rarely do I get the opportunity for that to be actually true. Okay! So when you want to blow your nose, you need to lightly pinch your nostrils so the opening is more narrow. It's like trying to blow out a candle with a paper towel roll versus a straw. You wanna breath in deep, pinch lightly, and blow like a bug is trying to crawl up your nose. If your ears pop a bunch let off the gas, too much gas, gonna get a ticket. If it is a productive nose blowing experience, blow another time or two presumably for posterity. If not, still blow another time or two. Again, posterity. But if nothing comes out then giving up is no shame and isn't a fail cause ya tried. Next, here are times people generally blow their nose! Sometimes it feels itchy or tickles inside. I have cats and do have the privilege of breathing through my nose my entire life so sometimes like dust or cat hairs etc invade my face. Another time is when the nose is runny. Typically nose breathing people get annoyed at constant wiping and try to expel as much at once by nose blowing to cut down the act of wiping to a minimum. People who aren't used to wiping their nose often can get irritated skin very quickly and try to avoid that since it hurts to smile or talk when your nose is angry. I'm sure you have had to deal with a lot of that after your surgery so a sore nose from wiping probably sounds pretty wimpy! Another reason is sometimes a smell just seems to be like... in there. Forever. When it's a bad smell it's kind of a bummer so we try to blow it out even though it won't work but it makes us feel better emotionally. Yeah so that was my Ted talk on nose blowing 😂
This is a perfect comment. The only thing I would add is that sometimes it can be good to do one nostril after the other. So pinch one side shut, and pinch the other only a little bit to make it narrower.
This was so well done. 😊 Another thing that makes me want to blow my nose is when I am on a plane or have been on a plane recently and my ears feel like they haven’t adjusted to the pressure. Sometimes blowing my nose will make my ears “pop.”
Thanks for this post surgery update. I’m 65 years old and had constant ear and sinus infections and finally have a doctor that looked up my nose and found that I have a diviated septum and the right side is completely collapsed. So I’m having surgery 10/29. I’m so thankful that you posted this blog because I feel like I’m so much more informed now. Did they pack your nostrils full of gauze? My doctor is telling me that he’s going to put stents in my nose and I will be able to breathe better immediately after the surgery then I was prior to the surgery. The stents will be removed one week after the surgery and then it will be a matter of everything healing. I can’t wait to sleep on my left side and to be able to breathe freely through both nostrils. Thank you so much for your openness about your surgery and recovery.❤
Yes I had stents in for a week as well! What a HUGE difference it made once they pulled them out, it felt like a whole new world haha! I think you're going to have an amazing and life changing experience, I'm glad you're making the choice to do it ❤️
The weirdest thing about pain is that your brain will remember that there was pain but it's really hard to remember what it actually felt like. Also when you're in pain it's really hard to remember what not being in pain felt like.
I've always been kind of a 'super smeller', so welcome to the club! It definitely has its ups and downs, hah. I still wear a mask almost all the time I'm in public, and it's partly just because of the protection it offers me from super strong smells - bad cologne, body odor, and yes- definitely public bathrooms lol. Glad to hear you're happy with the surgery overall!
Honestly I'm REALLY looking forward to being able to wear a mask again lol. My doc recommended I wait until I'm fully healed so there isn't anything pressuring down on my nose while it's still soft, but my gosh now I realize how much better it is (especially if I have to use a public restroom LOL)
@@GeminiSaturn I will not stand for the slander of your great state-unless you’re from Jersey…then you can say whatever you want because you earned the right.
As someone who had a surprise major surgery this year that left me with a large visible scar, I feel you on having some depression regarding even small changes to your appearance. I am glad you feel overall positively about your surgery, and I’m super glad your healing process is going smoothly!
It's so fun to hear you talk about your experience with smells. I have crazy strong olfactories, to the point that my coworkers call me a Blood Hound because I can smell things that no one else can. It can be a bit of a curse as you're discovering. Smelling "people" is not fun a lot of the time!
I have a normal sense of smell except when a person or me is sick, i call it "sick smell" & its the oddest smell ever!! I cant describe it except its kinda sweetish (not in a good way either) thick smell
Yes, no one talks about post-surgery grief. I had jaw surgery in my 20's for a severe underbite. I was excited to look "normal" BUT-no one told me about the grief-looking in the mirror and no longer looking like my "self" was disturbing. "I" had felt completely acceptable as a human being prior to surgery-but post surgery, I felt like maybe I shouldn't have bowed to societal pressures to "look" a certain way. I mean, i had started having other complications with the underbite, But....Then again, a woman at a place I applied at asked me what level "retardation" I had, based entirely on my appearance! Having my jaws wired shut for 6 weeks was severely depressing. People who had previously made fun of me, now "accepting" me was depressing (I got my jaw fixed, not a lobotomy, puleeeeze) . The pain was secondary to everything else. Yes, definitely I would do it all over again. But, I think surgeons need to do a little pre-surgery counseling and tell you about the depression and grief, afterwards.
The employer profiling you based on your looks is a big no-no. How embarrassing and unprofessional of them! When I got my braces off in middle school, the first comment I got from my classmate was "Aw, congrats! I think you looked prettier before though :P" and it greatly affected my self-image as a teen. Worse, I came home to my dad saying the same thing, even asking my mom if they could "undo it". I still think about how much better my life would've been if I hadn't gone to that dentist and I'm in my thirties.
I definitely felt you in the foody part, I love food as well and whenever you eat something good is like wow you are speechless and having a moment with the food. I'm very happy to hear you are doing well Kelli ❤️❤️❤️ I agree with the nose being the worse part when you get sick, I hate when I gotta breathe from my mouth bc my nose is stuffy.
I’m so glad you’re doing so well! The information you shared about being able to smell was fascinating and, at times, hilarious! 🚽 💨 Oh! The being sick part is interesting also!
I had jaw surgery to get rid of my overbite and lengthen my bottom jaw. I remember it took a few years to get used to my reflection completely. I cannot remember how my face looked now (unless I look at a photo) so I think you will get used to it after a while. I am so happy you have had an overall positive outcome 😊❤
I am so happy that you are having all of these new experiences. It's amazing to see how you have transformed during this whole situation. You look amazing. I am sure it is difficult to see a slightly different person in the mirror but again you look great. Glad to be apart of your community and patreon.
I’m so glad you’re recovering well. What a relief to have it behind you. They say that our sense of smell is a really big part of our memories and I can’t help thinking that you and your brain have a lot more input to process since your procedure, so maybe some of the sense of overwhelm is related to having your brain doing so much more work than it was used to? I am recovering nicely from a chronic depression, and it seems as though every single thing I experience is totally new to me because my outlook and awareness are so deeply different than before. Part of my own recovery has necessarily involved learning to give myself time to acknowledge how much I am learning literally with every new moment. Breathwork, mindfulness and meditation practices have been helpfully steadying. If you’re curious explore nasal breathing practices to see if it helps you understand this new sense of normalcy. They say that nose breathing really does help with overall health, so it’s definitely something I plan to continue exploring. PS: do you have any really OLD nail polishes? Be cautious when checking out their odor, they are quite intense. I still have a few, but wow, that old fashioned paint smell is really something.
It's fantastic to hear you are thriving after your surgery and continuing to enjoy new experiences with this new quality of life. With the fall and winter holidays coming up it would be fun to hear how seasonal favorites smell and taste different, or items you didn't like are now something you enjoy.
I'm glad you're still doing so well post-surgery! It's fun to hear you talk about how much you enjoy food now and how you're learning how different things smell. Def go to a flower garden and smell everything! As someone who's unfortunately always been a super smeller, it's crazy how many things have scents.
My husband had reconstructive nasal surgery a few years ago and it helped him so much. He used to get sinus infections all the time, he snored and just couldn't breathe well in general beforehand. The recovery was rough for both of us, but totally worth it. I'm so glad your surgery went well!
Ok I can’t believe you’ve never blown your nose before. As someone with allergies - I blow my nose several times a day and it never occurred to me that there are people who have never done that. Crazy.
It’s so wonderful to hear that your healing process is going well! It amazing when our bodies are working optimally and such a blessing. So happy for you and your journey with “smelling” the world! I’m excited for you! ❤
I am so unbelievably happy for you! I just absolutely adore hearing your updates especially when you talk about all the different smells that you can smell all the different things that you notice and even the bad ones and you just have this childlike Wonder to you! The part where you were talking about how you know for the first time in your life you were blowing your nose and we're trying to figure it out and talking on the phone with your friend that she coached you through it was just so sweet and so endearing! I am so sorry you went through everything you did and I'm just so glad that you're feeling better now
I just had the same surgery! I remember watching your first surgery video to reassure myself that it was going to be worth it. It 100% was. Being able to breathe, smell, and sleep through the night has been so amazing and I’m only a month into my recovery. So glad to see you’re doing well!
I'm so glad it went so well for you! Great video and thank you for the update - you cracked me up about how you can smell everything stronger now including people/body odor/boogers!!! 🤣🤣🤣
watching this made me more motivated to get my general nose issues checked out lol i’ve been wondering if my issues were caused by similar issues but hearing your symptoms made me realize i definitely need to see a doctor lol thank you though!!
I was so happy to see this vlog post and that you are doing so well post-surgery! I was a little bit young to have cataract surgery (this past Feb) -and let me just say that cataract surgery was a walk in the park compared to what you have been through - but the difference it made has been life changing! I can join you in the amazement at the difference it made! My vision is poor for a number of reasons, but I had no idea what all I was missing! I am so glad I conquered my fear and had it done! You were part of the reason I sucked it up and went for it (the other part was I was tired of driving my hubs around in the bigger cities where he is uncomfortable driving, while he told me when to slow down and where to turn, because I couldn’t read the signs🙈). Hopefully you will be a positive inspiration for others who need surgery for whatever need they may have.❤
I understand how much of an emotional roller-coaster it can be when you're recovering from surgery. I just had a hip deformity fixed in March. It's been a huge improvement but also soooo frustrating at times. It was arthroscopic and so now I have two ugly scars on my upper thigh that are not covered by a bathing suit. I'm pretty self-conscious about them. But now I can squat at the gym without feeling like a knife is being stabbed into my hip, which is huge! I've had to change how I sleep because sometimes it's painful in the position I like the best. And trusting my hip to be resilient was really hard. For 3 months after surgery I wasn't allowed to run/jog or jump, and when my physical therapist asked me to jump for the first time after 3 months, I was afraid to trust it... but it was fine! When you described how tentative you were in trying to blow your nose, it sounded a lot like how I felt about jumping, haha! Sorry for the novel. Recovering from surgery is a weird process!
For some comparison as someone with no nasal issues, I blow my nose several times a week sometimes every day. It is a regular thing! After I eat spicy food when my nose runs. Runny nose from cold temps. Of course from allergies or being sick. Sometimes after a hot shower since it can moisten up all the snots in there! But it’s not always like a full powerful blow. Like most times it’s gentle unless I’m actually sick and clogged up!
So happy to hear you are doing so well. I understand the needing patience regarding healing time. I had surgery in December and am still having some sore areas here and there and realize I am still healing, too. Thanks again for the update. You look fantastic! And I'm happy that you are happy you had the surgery and that you have noticed so many good benefits from it. 💜
A couple of years ago I had ab5 hour shoulder repair. It took a good year of hard work to heal and recover normal function. Be patient with yourself. Your body knows how to heal itself with time.😊
Do excited for you! I had a couple sinus and septum procedures a few years ago. Have had a similar experience. I now get so much joy from blowing my nose lol. And your sense of smell might dampen after a while. I remember smelling myself very strongly at first, especially if I got sick. It was like i could smell the "bad" collecting in my sinuses/ mucus. Now I don't really notice day to day, but if I get sick everything suddenly smells so horrible. Anyways, so happy your experience has been a good one. Welcome to a world of newish experiences and incredibly deep breaths! ❤
I feel the same way about the healing process. It is definitely not a straight line. I had surgery (on my knee, not my nose) and it took the max amount of time for the swelling to normalize. It is very irritating when our bodies don't cooperate! I really related to everything you said. Glad you are feeling better. Nice to hear from you in a vlog again. 😊
You could try chives instead of green onions…they are much more mild but still give a slight onion flavor for your avocado toast. Glad you are recovering well from both the surgery and the sickness❤️🩹
Probably a silly question, I know, but where do I find chives in the supermarket?? Is it with the produce? Because I don't think I've ever seen them but you're the second person to recommend them so now I'm curious 😅😅
@@KelliMarissaVlogs yes, in the produce department usually with the fresh herbs and sometimes packaged in the same area. You can also use dehydrated chives which can be found in the spice section. However, I think you’d love fresh from your own garden. They are super easy to grow in a large pot. They can be harvested in a bundle and grow back just like grass. They are a perennial so they come back every spring. I recommend, Dolores Chives from Johnnys Seeds. They have a beautiful purple flower puff-ball in the spring (which can also be eaten). Hope this helps. I think you’d love them on salads, eggs and baked potatoes, too!
So glad the surgery went well, and that you are continuing to improve. And so glad to know someone else likes the smell of nail polish! I suppose I associate the smell with loving this hobby so in my mind it’s positive.
I'm so glad you got the surgery and have had such a great result from it! One question that I didn't hear covered, is how are you sleeping now? I remember you said that certain positions were difficult to sleep in before the surgery. And I know how bad for your health it is to have something like untreated apnea. I can only think that your nasal/sinus issues was affecting the quality if not the quantity of your sleep. I'm wondering if you wake up feeling more refreshed now since your surgery. Thanks!
So glad you are doing so much better and you’re glad that you had the surgery. I can’t really tell you look any different. You are a very pretty woman and you should be confident in that, even though I know that is hard if you feel different.
I'm glad you are enjoying everything! Your perspective of things is SO important to how you heal and handle all that your body is going through. As far as the tmi, I appreciate the genuinity (It's a word now! lmao) of your experience. I prefer honesty! I have to say, I just 'found' this channel. I think I've always kinda blipped over your mention of it even though I know I've heard you say it. I was curious to see if you ever DON"T wear makeup. lol I love playing with color and think you always look amazing but I don't wear makeup often because I want to be sure I am always comfortable in my own skin and don't wear the makeup to cover what I don't want to see. That being said, I LOVE your makeup-less face! You are just beautiful inside and out! I think I happened on your nail polish page ages ago cause I was trying to save a clumpy polish and your video with how to save it came up. I liked your vibe and subscribed but rarely watched. Being a mom of 3 (2 now, ones an adult! lol) I don't take much time to do the fun things like that. Anyhow, I decided I wanted to watch your videos A because I love polish and B because I enjoy your energy so much. So happy to watch your journey. Best of luck as you finish your healing! xoxo
I find it so interesting to hear this perspective of what it was like before you had the surgery compared to now. The fact that you sont know how to blow your nose is quite funny! Im sure once it heals completely and you experience a good runny nose while being sick, you will get the hang of it 😂 the human body is so interesting! Welcome to a new world of smells and taste and a healthier mouth!
Love you so much Kelli, so glad to hear you’ve been healing well and it’s been a success. I’m just picturing your face after farts and BO 🤢😅 You are gorgeous, your nose is gorgeous… beautiful inside and out. Thanks for the update! ❤
❤so glad you are doing well. I also had some major surgery in April so it's been 5 months and like you i had to learn how to do things, my surgery had to do with my mouth so I had to learn how to eat and talk still working on the speech part but like you I am so happy I did it my confidence is so much better now. Good luck to you in your ongoing Recovery ❤
Happy to see you back! Also, I’m so happy you’ve experienced good (and bad) smells. It’s funny how one experience transforms how we experience the world around us. Keep rocking Kelli! 🤗
So glad you're able to get more intense scents and food flavors! A friend of mine had surgery to remove polyps, she hadn't smelled anything in years, and regaining her ability to smell she said was so intense it made her nauseated. The polyps grew back, she's back to not smelling or tasting anything, and she's almost relieved. I've never had a problem with smelling things, but then I had COVID last December, and lost the ability to smell stinky things (body odor, bathroom odors, cat litter boxes, feet). I can still smell things that smell good. So weird!
Thank you so much!! Honestly every procedure I have to get feels like such a major inconvenience/difficulty at the time but quality of life just keeps improving so it's always worth it haha
Omg, yes, the boogie smell is REAL and something I only experienced post nasal surgeries. I agree that these nasal surgeries are life changing. I do remember how terrible the pain is, but I also had 3 nasal surgeries, but I would also do it all over again. Every time. Food tastes so much better and smelling flowers and pleasant smells is totally worth the surgery, even if we have to deal with the fart smells too. 😂
The update i needed! I was curious about how things were going for you. I'm glad recovery has gone well, and you can gargle!! Love the nail polish! Do you remember which brand and name it was? I must get one. Such a good red.
Omg, definitely get more into cooking! Zack used to be our designated cook, but when his TH-cam picked up he was much busier than I was so I took over and I wasn't as good for a couple years, but now I think we're both pretty good and it's really nice to just eat delicious stuff at home all the time! I got a really cheap subscription to Bon Appetit magazine and have found so many good recipes from it. We have a binder of recipes now and we almost never eat at restaurants anymore, lol
It's crazy because I used to cook so much more but I've gotten so lazy (and spoiled from all the options living here lol) in the last few years. But I do really enjoy the act of cooking, so I really should get back into it 😅 any particularly fun meal ideas you recommend trying?? I used to make a mean chicken marsala!
I had the same surgery as you in February, minus the ear part. I feel like I breathe better for the most part and I can smell and taste things much more strongly, but I find that I'm still sick ALL THE TIME. It's actually kind of frustrating because the surgery came about because my Doctor's thought the sinuses and nasal passages were the culprit, but here we are still sick...anyway, I also don't love soy sauce and salt and vinegar chips as much as I used to. AND YES! I can smell my sneezes....gross. lol. I'm so happy that you're doing well!
So happy for you Kelli, you definitely look and sound much better. What about coffee? Do you love the smell/taste? Olfactory memory is the most long-lasting, so maybe in a couple years you'll smell something and say "this reminds me of (person, place, food etc) Sending you lots of love and a speedy recovery, sis!!
Ooh I definitely still love my coffee! (Fun fact, today is actually National Coffee Day haha, I've been sipping on some decaf to celebrate 😂) thank you so much!!!
Kelli, you look great and sound great. You’re beautiful inside and out (well maybe not inside your nose😂)haha, couldn’t resist. You have a beautiful soul! Thanks for sharing your experiences. As a former nurse it is fascinating. A nurse never gets to know the post surgical patient experiences. Love you kiddo!❤
I'm happy the surgery was so successful. It's so nice hearing your New Jersey accent rather than blocked sinus Jersey. Wishing you continued good fotune with the swelling going away.
I've been away for a while, but I think you sound and look great!! I've been dealing with some life altering surgeries myself. The second of which is in Just a couple days. So glad to be back!!
Nice to hear how well you've recovered. I'd be interested to know if you've gotten more into perfumes? I've recently been able to use perfume again after years of my asthma being too sensitive. It's so enjoyable to explore perfume samples 😍
Only at 6-ish minutes into the video right now but just chiming in with the nose blowing thing: 1. How often is normal depends entirely on the person. If you have allergies like i do, or if you have a cold, it can be normal to have to blow your nose every few hours 😅 Otherwise i blow my nose pretty much never? I go by "if it keeps running and wiping doesn't work, I'll blow" and "if it feels completely "full", I'll blow" As for your second point: For sure, it's something you need to practice, even though that sounds silly. But i had to go through it twice with my kids and yes, it very much is a learning curve 😅
Happy to hear that you’re healing well. So many pluses and definitely downsides to being able to smell better. I’m not a fan of crowds and the worst is the body odor and bad breath. Especially when they cover it up with perfume and cologne. One thing I appreciated with the pandemic…social distancing and standing 6 feet apart😂
Ohhhh oohh boy, as someone who is sensitive to smell because of migraine, I am so sorry you are now in my world, I cannot get over how much *stuff* people bathe in to *smell* good (to them)
Haha no apologies necessary! Honestly I'm very grateful to be able to smell it all now 😅 luckily the strong smells aren't translating into any sort of pain or discomfort for me, so I guess I'm very fortunate in that way!!
So happy that your quality of life has improved! I can’t imagine how hard it is to not eat everything especially when you have so many options to choose from in Vegas lol. I’m low key jealous but very happy for you 😁 Edit: just wanted to clarify I’m jealous that you have so many good restaurants around you, not the surgery 😬
HAHA! Don't worry, I knew what you meant 😂🤣 but yes, my eternal struggle is that I always want to go out to restaurants here but they can be so expensive 😅 I just need to start cooking unique meals for myself so I can be a foodie at home LOL
I had my deviated septum fixed and they were able to use the cartilage they took out for the alar batten grafts to keep both nostrils from collapsing. That made it more of an easy surgery for me. It was WILD because I knew I didn’t have a good sense of smell but holy shit it was so disorienting to walk into a world where I could now actually, really smell! Also I’ve slept so much better at night now as I can actually breathe through my nose. Life changing surgery
I have had 3 surgeries in my 62 years and only 1 of them was planned so I only had that anxiety about it for one, the last one I had. But the pain that happened every month that required the surgery was worse than the anxiety. The other 2 were spur of the moment decision that surgery was needed. One for my first child. C-section due to Placenta Previa. 2nd was when I miscarried carrying my 3rd child. Went ahead with tying my tubes. TMI I know. Sorry. So glad you are doing great though. You look great too.
Now i know internet strangers' opinions dont matter, sweetie, but you are looking fantastic. Try to think of your nose as how it should have looked. You sound so much less nasily, and i can tell you are breathing better. Your surgery was a glow up for you (before the surgery, you were gorgeous), but now with the 'new' nose, even better! Dont be harsh with yourself. You are SO pretty ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have had my nose broken twice and I am terrified to have surgery to fix it. I have almost no sense of smell. For the gross smells I'm thankful I can't smell them lol. Your journey has really helped lessen the fear, but I'm still not sure I'm ready to do it.
I had Covid back in January- and it knocked me on my butt! But I am thankful I got vaccinated. I quarantined, and I got better. I nearly missed my dance for special needs, but thankfully I didn’t! I caught bronchitis late February. Gosh I sure hope I don’t get sick! I hope ur feeling better! I also suffer from migraines, back issues! My migraines sometimes can get bad that I have to turn my bedroom light off. And as of now, I’ve got black out curtains. I hope you are doing well! And are staying healthy! If anybody has relatives/ friends that got impacted by Hellene- keep them in ur thoughts! Any one have tips on managing anxiety? Help a girl out?😂
I dont know why but when you said how you can smell people more, I thought of Dug from Dinsey's Up when he said "I can smell you!" Love your positivity towards even smelling BO 😆 But glad you can live life to the fullest-- farts and all!
I'm sure that your doctor and you know how much you nose is still swollen on the inside from the surgery so I'm not saying it isn't ☝🏻 but I recently learned that even people who don't have any problems with their nose don't have 100% equal ... breathability? in their nose at all times. I actually didn't learn this until recently but as I'm sitting here now I can breathe 100% out of one of my nostrils but the other one feels slightly closed off and harder to breathe through if I close off the good one even though I don't have a cold or any obstructions, but maybe in a bit it will have changed sides depending on what I'm doing or if i lay on my side etc. Fun fact of the day
Kelli, I remember in a vlog before your surgery you mentioned that you were having trouble with your vision. Did that resolve with your surgery? I hope so. I sincerely wish you well.
Oh my gosh, I can help. I'm autistic and one of my favorite things is explaining totally normal things in detail like no one knows what I'm talking about. I love this 🥰
This is a perfect comment. The only thing I would add is that sometimes it can be good to do one nostril after the other. So pinch one side shut, and pinch the other only a little bit to make it narrower.
That was so enjoyable to read. Thank you!
@@calypso8436This is what works best for me when blowing my nose.
This was so well done. 😊
Another thing that makes me want to blow my nose is when I am on a plane or have been on a plane recently and my ears feel like they haven’t adjusted to the pressure. Sometimes blowing my nose will make my ears “pop.”
You have that good Jersey nasal now rather than chronic sinus problems Jersey! Congratulations on your progress.
Haha yessss!! Still got the Jersey going, in a less uncomfortable way 🤣 thank you so much!
I’m so glad you can smell strangers’ farts now. 🤣
I’m sorry. Deep down I really do have a sentimental comment, but that’s what came out.
LOL. This is a wonderful comment, trust me 💨💨💨
What a gift😅
Oh my God I laughed so hard when she said that! She's so freaking adorable!
My doc recommended I wait until I'm fully healed so there isn't anything pressuring down on my nose while it's still soft, but my gosh now I realize how much better it is (especially if I have to use a public restroom LOL)
i love the dark academia vibe you've got going on right now
My late mother was from Jersey, and your Jersey accent (like all Jersey accents) brings me joy! Glad you haven’t lost it! ❤
As someone with a New Jersey accent, thank you - it's nice to hear someone say something complimentary about New Jersey! 😁
Haha oh yeah people have a LOT more smells than I expected 😂 I imagine its overwhelming to be experiencing that for your whole life!!
Yes, I also work in a veterinary clinic which brings a whole host of unique odors! 🤣🤢🤮
I’m always asked to smell food to see if has turned bad, or if people are unsure if they smell something burning, they ask me to check. It gets old!
Oh! The being sick part is interesting also!
Haha! Definitely more cautious going into public restrooms these days 🤣🤣
@@KelliMarissaVlogs some restrooms smell absolutely AWFUL. 🤮 Others have a tinge and others are nothing … for my nose.
Happy for you, and wishing you all the best! No doubt that surgery was difficult, and I'm happy you have that behind you now.
Thank you so much! Me too, feeling better every day haha!
Glad that you are doing well 😊😊❤❤❤
Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
@@KelliMarissaVlogsYour welcome Np 😊😊😊
Congratulations on all your progress! Also, that sweater is super pretty.
Glad to hear you are recovering well ❤
Ok I can’t believe you’ve never blown your nose before. As someone with allergies - I blow my nose several times a day and it never occurred to me that there are people who have never done that. Crazy.
Same! If I didn't blow my nose I wouldn't be able breathe
Yep. I keep a tissue in every pocket. I have to be careful doing laundry, in case I forget one.
I am so sorry you went through everything you did and I'm just so glad that you're feeling better now
I’m loving all of this for you ~ I am laughing and giggling as I listen. You’re beautiful inside and out.
Oh, you still have the holiday season treats to look forward to! That’ll be fun!
Hopefully you will be a positive inspiration for others who need surgery for whatever need they may have.❤
I'm so glad you're recovering nicely. I can't believe this was your first time blowing your nose. Enjoy your new look and enjoy your new aromas
I'm so happy for you that this surgery changed your life so positively! Thank you for posting this update. 😊
I’ve never opened a TH-cam video faster!! So glad to see a vlog from you. 😊😊😊
Finally back!! Let's see if I can post consistently on here 😂😂
Thanks for sharing your experience, Kelli! And i really hope you're feeling 100% soon. You look beautiful!
Always appreciate your videos! You’ve got a great way of speaking and glad you’ve been doing well 😊
I feel the same way about the healing process.
So happy for you Kelli!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you for coming along on the journey 😄😄
Glad you are doing well. Happy you have new experiences you get to have
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️
So happy you're having a good time trying food! Can't wait to see the room update!
This surgery sounds life changing in a good way ❤
So glad the surgery went well, and that you are continuing to improve.
Thanks!
I would love to see what you like to cook in future vlogs❤
You look and sound as lovely as ever... So enjoy your vlogs, and happy to see how well you are doing post surgery.❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰
So glad you are doing so much better and you’re glad that you had the surgery. I can’t really tell you look any different. You are a very pretty woman and you should be confident in that, even though I know that is hard if you feel different.
So pleased for you.
So glad you are feeling better each day! Are y'all taking that holiday break this year? I think you earned it 🥰
Thank you so much for answering my question!! I feel so special that mine was chosen, great answer, too!
Thank you for asking!! 🥰🥰🥰
So happy for you! ❤ you’ve gained a whole other sense! So cool! I’d say that your massive life changes post op prove it was all worth it 🥰
I'm glad you are enjoying everything!
I'm glad to hear your recovery is going well too! We'll both look back on these moments and be so glad we got the surgery 😅❤️❤️
Happy to see you back! Also, I’m so happy you’ve experienced good (and bad) smells. It’s funny how one experience transforms how we experience the world around us. Keep rocking Kelli! 🤗
Haha thank you! It really is crazy what a world of difference smell makes 😅😅
I am so happy for you. I am glad you had the surgery. You are so beautiful.
Oh gosh you are too kind, thank you so much!! 🥹💜💜
You look beautiful every day! I don’t see you every day but I’m positive that’s true. 💜
Oh you are too kind 😅 thank you so much 🥹💜
The spicy tolerance is so interesting to me. I can't handle any heat since chemo. Like I refer to sour patch kids as spicy now.
So weird!
omg hi Kelli! So glad you're doing better now
Thank you so much!!
Happy For You Kelli 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Love your vlogs and your nail polish videos. I am so happy to be watching your vlog again after so long without them.
Thank you so much!! Hopefully more frequent vlogs to come 🥰🥰
You look great 😃 hope you enjoy all the new experiences. 😊
Thank you so much! It really is a fun adventure haha!
So glad your recovery has gone so well! 💛
👋👏well done and congratulations. I worked in ENT year's ago. Glad you're recovering well. 💕TFS
Oh thank you so much!
Kelli, you look great and sound great. You’re beautiful inside and out
(well maybe not inside your nose😂)haha, couldn’t resist.
Sending you lots of luck and a speedy recovery for your next surgery!! ❤️❤️❤️
@KelliMarissaVlogs thank you so much!! I've missed you! What a crazy year, but it sounds like we're both going to be different people by 2025
💜💜💜
Nice to hear how well you've recovered. I'd be interested to know if you've gotten more into perfumes? I've recently been able to use perfume again after years of my asthma being too sensitive. It's so enjoyable to explore perfume samples 😍
I'm glad you had good results with the surgery. I love your sweater and nail polish!
Oh thank you so much! The sweater is new, I just got it from forever 21! I forget which polish I'm wearing but it's from the latest ILNP collection 😅
Would love some food and cooking blogs on here. Even just tagging along whilst you try some 'new' foods or snacks
Only at 6-ish minutes into the video right now but just chiming in with the nose blowing thing:
1. How often is normal depends entirely on the person. If you have allergies like i do, or if you have a cold, it can be normal to have to blow your nose every few hours 😅 Otherwise i blow my nose pretty much never? I go by "if it keeps running and wiping doesn't work, I'll blow" and "if it feels completely "full", I'll blow"
As for your second point: For sure, it's something you need to practice, even though that sounds silly. But i had to go through it twice with my kids and yes, it very much is a learning curve 😅
So Happy you’re recovering well
What nail polish ❤are you wearing
What polish is on your nails? Love the red ❤
Glad you are healing and enjoying the new smells! I hope all continues to go well on your journey
So happy that your quality of life has improved! I can’t imagine how hard it is to not eat everything especially when you have so many options to choose from in Vegas lol. I’m low key jealous but very happy for you 😁
Edit: just wanted to clarify I’m jealous that you have so many good restaurants around you, not the surgery 😬
Oh gosh you're gonna make me cry! Haha! Thank you so much for the kind words and the encouragement ❤️❤️
So glad you're doing well. As for blowing your nose, I only do it when my nose is running. So try that.
Maybe that was my mistake because I tried it when my nose was a bit crusty(sorry for the tmi lol!!)
@@KelliMarissaVlogs no worries. I'm TMI immune.
I think you look lovely. I know you not doing this fishing for compliments. I think your surgery was a huge success. ❤
What is your height?
Your story should be part of a scientific study. So interesting!
Fun fact of the day
Next time I have to smell my dog clear a room with a fart, I’m going to remember you and feel grateful that I can smell! 😂
Kelli, I remember in a vlog before your surgery you mentioned that you were having trouble with your vision. Did that resolve with your surgery? I hope so. I sincerely wish you well.
