If Dooku had overthrown Palpatine before Anakin went dark side, I think Anakin would have been the one to defeat him later. Instead of convincing Anakin that he could save Padme, this story would have went differently. Anakin would be persecuted by the Jedi for being with her, and having children. Dooku would convince Anakin of the Jedi's twisted ways, and brought him on as his apprentice. Their relationship would be good until Dooku got older, and weaker, and Anakin defeated him to be the new ruler. Anakin, without a burned body, would be the most powerful Force user, ever.
I don’t believe Dooku cared about Anakin. If anything he would’ve tried to recruit Obi wan first before attempting to turn Skywalker. If anything if Dooku would’ve took over he would’ve either killed Anakin or been killed by him without Palpatine’s intervention to handicap him. He might’ve tried to recruit him, but if Dooku would’ve killed palpatine, then he could never recruit skywalker
@@Eli-akad I guess it depends on what Dooku's goals were. If he wanted to be a leader with a right hand enforcer, Anakin would have been the perfect person. Young, insanely powerful force wise, but still lacked the experience to challenge Dooku in a head to head duel. Also I think Dooku would have been a good mentor to Anakin. He would have helped Anakin embrace the power that he desired without the pure evil that Palpatine wanted. Anakin would have been less conflicted, and I think Dooku would have encouraged him to be with Padme.
@@RickySpanish12344 That’s does seem in line with what we seen from the character. It depends on the point in time that this happens. The earlier in the war would most likely be the best way for Dooku to succeed. However if Dooku was to kill Palpatine, regardless if the Jedi knew of his Sith Lord identity, he could’ve never recruited Anakin solely on the fact of there “friendship” and Skywalker’s personality. Definitely and interesting concept however, because that would’ve been a really cool dynamic which ever route it would go. I personally feel the point in the war would effect the outcome
Plaguis may have been better off having Dooku as his apprentice because it seems unlikely that he would have betrayed him.

Well Dooku would've betrayed Plaguis, but he'd have probably been more up front about it. Hell knowing Dooku he'd have probably turned it into an official challenge to a duel or something instead of just killing him in his sleep like Palpi did.

I've always wanted a "what if, instead of pledging himself to Darth Sidious, Anakin rejects the dark side and allows Mace Windu to kill the dark lord. And then Anakin lives happily ever after with Padme and Luke and Leia.

I’d think that count dooku would have implemented a system of governance very similar to the star leauge that in ways for a time would have been better than the republic and the later empire. It in no way would be a perfect system but it would be an improvement for a time

I like the Darth Plegis novel too. I couldn’t find many pictures of Muuns the first time I read it though so I had a hard time picturing it. Haha after episode 9 came out my friends and I jokingly called Palpatine Grandpa Sheeve.
Dooku's Empire probably would've been much more fair than Palpatine's.

The only reason Dooku even exists is because Jar Jar Binks drew so much hate (from the darkside) in Episode I. Jar Jar was Palpatine's apprentice, and then Episode 2 script got rewritten. Evidence? Dooku's land speeder and spaceship seen at the end of Episode 2 were designed for a gungan.

I was listening to the audiobook again recently.
Having read the Revenge of the Sith novelization, I think a galaxy under the rule of Darth Tyrannus would have been an Empire far worse than it was under Sidious. By the end fo the Clone Wars, Dooku had lost all care and respect for the alien races of the galaxy. Palpatine used the human high culture thing to inspire his more cruel followers. Dooku, actually believed it, and wanted to literally see all races, except humans, enslaved to the new empire. All that they owned taken away, and given to human masters. Tyrannus' rule would have been a nightmare on the scale of the Rakata infinite Empire, an empire where one race enslaved all others.
What's wrong with that?

Well, you know he’s the original Chosen one, right? His count blew Yoda’s mind and many started referring to him as the Choosen One. He agreed until he became a Master (So he says) but when Anakin was discovered even Dooku scoffed at the thought. Not because most Jedi no longer considered it real, but because In his mind, they already found the chosen one. Himself.

Imagine if Darth Plagueis did replace Sidious with Dooku and they followed through with the Sith Plan along with Order 66, resulting in them becoming Co-Emperors of the Empire. The Twist Story would be that Sidious kept secret that Anakin was the Chosen One/Most powerful Force User, and he secretly trained him to be his Sith Apprentice, resulting in them both growing so powerful that they challenged them to combat for the Empire.
Plagueis was a Sith. If he'd decided to replace Palpatine, Palpatine wouldn't have been around to contest the issue for very long. Let alone long enough to try knocking him off the the throne.
Remember the Sith "retirement plan" is an urn on your replacement's shelf

If Sidious became highly handicapped physically and or mentally, got locked up in a well guarded prison, or died then Plagueis would of replaced Sidious with Dooku afterall Sidious had a higher potential in the force then Dooku just as Dooku had a higher potential then Plagueis And Plagueis had a higher one then Maul yeah.
I think there is more between the Jedi and Sith. The Jedi Limit their Power by Not doing horrible acts, whereas a Sith will just kill whenever they want. There is a big Thing between Evil and good there. Morals. The Jedi are not perfect. But at least most try to be Moral. The idea that is new in star wars about "jedi and sith are pretty much the same" I feel is just wrong and does the respect the original Lore of Jedi being the protectors of good and Sith being the corruptors that do evil acts. I really enjoyed the video Btw. great Job! I just feel like the comment about "very little difference between Jedi and sith" in the Original lore I feel like there is huge diffrences that Lucas Started.

To be fair, Plagueis was more interested in Qui-Gon Jinn at first. But realized that Jinn's stance in the Light was unwavering. Whereas Dooku was not.
Dooku would have been a much better apprentice and would have learned life saving and creating Force skills from Plagueis.
I’ve always thought that Dooku had a better fight against Yoda compared to Palpatine. Lord Sidious was trying to leave at one point by flipping to the door, keeping The Grandmaster at bay with the force in the Senate room, and look at him when Yoda hops 3ft in front of him… he panics and shoots his lighting in fear. He only fought Yoda because he had too.
Dooku wasn’t even surprised when Yoda showed up, and after taking on Obi Wan and Anakin. Hell technically he even challenged him to the damn fight lol.

What I don't understand.. Was it Darth Plagueis that taught Qui Gon Jin how to communicate with the living when they were one with the Force?
That lead to Qui Gon's force ghost ultimately teaching Master Yoda how to do it, who went on to pass that knowledge onto Obi Wan Kenobi?
Palpatine said to Anakin in Ep:3 R.O.T.S that Plagueis learned how to "stop those he loved from dying", manipulating the force to his Will.. But clearly never taught Palpatine this secret.. Likely cause he refused outright, or maybe suspected that he had ulterior motives? That Palpatine, feeling slighted, murdered him in spite.
If not, I'd like to know how Qui Gon learned how to do that when he was in the Force?

I'm pretty confidant that if Palpatine never existed, Dooku would have been Plagueis' apprentice. Or apprentices...he kind of gave up on the Rule of Two
If Dooku had his way it would’ve likely not been at all benevolent. The RotS novel strongly implies that Dooku was extremely human-centric and actually despised aliens, including the separatists.
That’s pretty much exactly how the empire was. They detested non humans and really only utilized them as slave labor or employed as bounty hunters.

I think Dooku would have been a bad Sith lord, as he doesn't seem to have the craving for power, but craving for order. He would have done everything a Sith lord would do, but stop when order would have been established.
When I think of Dooku I picture him more of a dark Jedi than an actual Sith. So, I do see where about you're coming from on that.

Duke wasn't sensitive enough to what was going around him, not that he wasn't a great politician and 1 of the best saber duelist. He was just dull when it came to ''controlling the galaxy'' and hiding his presence. I mean he had way to many friends to be a sith lord.

An should Siev at all unlock even a fraction of his most powerful and dangerous abilities that might've been enough to usurp Dooku too. Since Palpatine, was WAY more Darkside powerful then Dooku was even capable of becoming.
Dooku's plan had HE been a part of such a post Republic government shows he never really was much of a Sith. Only limited in practice and taken the name but NOT the philosophy. Should he'd EVER have returned to the Jedi allegiance during the early movies he'd been basically an on-screen Light Sith

So Anakin beat Dooku but we can assume Dooku didnt know the stakes were so high, so this may not have been the true result. How would Vader in his suit have done against dooku? Slower, clunkier and suseptible to lightning.

This is why I like count dooku. He saw the corruption of the Republic and the Senate and saw the hypocrisy and arrogance of the Jedi order and their closeness to politics that had compromised their Jedi code. He wanted to create a better government that would have actually had been more merciful, fair and justified than the republic and the empire. He saw using the dark side as a political tool and a means to an end.
I don’t think there is anything wrong studying the light and the dark side of the force and having an interest in the latter. The sith order may use the dark side but the sith ideology is what turns them into power hungry psychopaths. Such as the story of Darth Vectivus, a Sith Lord who studied and practiced the dark side but never used it to gain power or to harm others. I think Dooku kind of got corrupted by the dark side cause he committed many atrocities during the war and personally killed Jedi.

You said the Jedi were the only ones who limit themselves, but if you've read the Darth Bane novels you'd know that Sith prohibit practices of the Light side because "they temp one towards the light." The Sith are just as narrow minded as the Jedi, just on a different side of morality.

Why are Human lifespans in the SW galaxy roughly the same as in real life? Considering their much longer history than Human civilization IRL, and the superior medical technology in the galaxy, you would expect to see significantly longer lifespans, even in individuals without access to the Force. But then, this falls into the same category as Padme dying in childbirth one supposes.
Maximum human lifespan hasn't increased under our tech either. Just the average.

Agreed on the Plagueis novel, it truly is one of the best around, especially for Star Wars. I've listened to the audiobook at least 6 times, it's just downright perfectly voice acted. Can't get enough of it.
Plagueis is my favorite With as well, he deserves to be put on the screen. The most deserving of any character honestly, at least as far as I'm concerned, Disney cannon be damned.

Plagieus’ plan would of came to fruition under Dooku/Tyranus. It would of been a better choice. He’s more skilled than Maul, even rivaling Yoda saber wise, and this is in his advanced age. 20 years prior such as when they met the second time? Beyond godly. His force abilities even about match Yodas.
