  • Imagine being told your newborn would have to have a feeding tube for the rest of his life.
Last week, we met Melissa, a recent high school graduate struggling with the news that her baby had a birth defect. Pregnancy is challenging for any young woman, but when you are 19 and pregnant with a child with a birth defect, you must grow up in a hurry.
Today, we find out what happened when Aiden was born, and the challenges that Melissa and Aiden continue to deal with. From surgeries to IV nutrition to feeding tubes to considering transplant options, their lives have not been easy. But they have been more than just coping.
Don't forget to head to the blog post for more information and resources.
    Glad you're here!
    Tracy

I am BAWLING. my son was born with gastroschisis. Literally your entire story is what I lived except his belly closing back up. EVERYTHING. Line infections. TPN, Gtube.. EVERYTHING😭 alone. Learning how to be a nurse over night. Oliver has 25% of his intestine left. His were lost due to hospital negligence. We spent months at hershey NICU and 6years of home nursing. I cannot stop crying because I relate to you more than anyone probably can😭😭😭 good job mama❤

Aidan looks so much like you, Melissa.
You are wise beyond your years, of course.
Wishing you day often day of love and joy.
Do you keep a blog/vlog where I can follow your story?
Obviously, you do not know me, so I’ll first ask if it is okay if I say special intention prayers for Aidan.
