Thanks so much for doing reviews at Universal Studios. This is definitely needed for people of all different sizes. Keep up the good work, I’m a subscriber!
The Hulk is the only ride in the world I went to go on that I didn't fit in :( The seats are far too narrow and it's a problem! Sorry you weren't able to experience this ride either ❤️ Thanks for the video!
wow I didn't know The Hulk had this problems too. I never rode it but I just assumed it was fine. WTH Universal! Thanks for making these videos, I'm coming back this year, and I gained a lot of weight, so I'm worried about pretty much all of the rides lol
I ask again similar to another video - is the height itself the issue or does girth play a factor? My finace is 6'8 but super skinny. I'm wondering if the girth is stopping the lap bar or the height of your shoulders? No offense towards you what so ever and I've really appreciated these videos and your commitment to the weight loss! Keep it up!
Mainly girth on the hulk. But height can play a part for things like lower back injuries and over the shoulder restraints. When you are tall on a coaster your head gets a lot more momentum than a shorter person. A tall person's spine can do a whip crack if they don't brace themselves well.
1:27 You mention they don't have seat belt extenders, can people bring seat belt extenders on rides? I ask this because I am good friends with The Bumper Car Psychos of Keansburg NJ who are fairly big guys and they always brought their own belt extenders with no problem.
Absolutely no idea. I would think that if someone brought their own seat belt extender on this one and it didn't work it would be a big liability for the park. Also some buckles won't be compatible with others, not sure how that would work. I honestly never thought of bringing my own seat belt extender, but I would also be leery of trusting my life to a buckle that wasn't intended to be used on the ride.
Thank you for making these videos. My son is very worried that he might not be able to ride many of these rides because of his size. He's around 6 feet 4 inches tall and about 300 lbs. He wasn't able to ride the slingshot in at Old Town because they said he was too tall. We'll be going to the parks again soon but it's been years.
I never even tried to get on the slingshot rides at Old Town. I even used to live down the street from there. Scared of heights which is ironic because I'm tall. But eventually I'll have to put myself through one of those styles of rides just for the amusement of people on the channel. 😐 I'm going to be going around and looking at other attractions, not just Universal and Disney, so I can make videos about alternative activities that people can do. So if you have any other suggestions of things I should share please let me know. Any attractions you tried that were not accommodating to big people or even better ones that were accommodating. I don't have a ton of time and money to try everything so I need to pick and choose.
Thanks for making these videos! I'm planning a family Disney trip for a year or so from now, and we were debating on adding Universal. I've been worried about being able to fit in some of the rides there... I'm 6'0" and about 280, but I live near another major amusement park and have found that I can't fit on a couple of the big coasters there. Can you do a video for the Revenge of the Mummy ride? Thanks again!!
Hey, Dave! Thanks so much for making these super helpful videos! :) I was wondering if you happen to have measurements for the width between the arms on the seat (kind of like your video where you measured the Forbidden Journey test seat)?
I’m 6’5” about 310 lbs. I tried to go on this last week and couldn’t even get in the seat. I’ve lived in Orlando for 15+ years and used to be able to ride the Hulk fine. Even on the normal seats but after their revamp they made the seats super narrow for some reason. It’s unfortunate because it’s my favorite ride. If they take the “arm rests” off I’m sure i’ll be able to get back on it. I’m watching all of your videos and looks like I had a problem on the same ones! 😂
The seats on the Actual ride are made to a slightly bigger scale than the ones outside of the ride. So you might be able to fit in one of the modified seats caused I've seen people as big and tall as you on the ride and they fit just fine. The modified seats have two seat belts and not just one for extra safety. I don't know why the test seats are so small and tight together like that cause in the actual ride it's a little roomy
I have attempted to get on this one. I sat on the arm rests of the modified seat and couldn’t easily get in the seat so I didn’t get to the point where you pull the shoulder restraints down.
Universal has to do a better job on making the rides "rideble" for big and tall people. I know we're the exception to the rule, but I feel since we're paying so much money to "enjoy" Universal Studios, we should be able to go on the rides. I came all the way from Brasil, lost about 30lbs since the last time I was here, but couldn't ride on any of the rides. Bummer.
When I rode the hulk I noticed that the bar in front of the modified seat had a lot of wear and tear from tall people's knees hitting it. It is kinda disappointing, but I think that the seat is just a generic roller coaster seat, and really B&M (the manufacturer) needs to update their standards to solve the problem.
My height doesn't stop me from "fitting" on rides. But really most rides don't have an upper limit on height that is specified. I think the only one in Orlando (other than children rides) is Rip Ride Rockit which has a limit of 6'7". I can't remember if there were some at SeaWorld I couldn't do.
The biggest issue I face from my height is whiplash. The longer your spine is the more it does a whip crack with sudden turns and stops. Some rides that are fine for smaller people can be problem. For instance the Revenge of the Mummy has a big head rest that comes up behind the seat to stop people from getting whiplash on sudden stops. My head is well above that headrest so on my first time riding that one I got my bell rung pretty hard by having my head slam into the top edge of that headrest.
Thank you for making these videos. I lost 30lbs but I still don't think that is enough. I know on their site they say if you are over 40 in waist there might be a problem so I measured my waist and I am 39 in so I am under but it's always my hips that are the problem and I've heard nothing about the hips.

Congrats on 100 subscribers!!!
Thanks! Hopefully all the subscribers feel like this is a really helpful channel.
Well, I guess a 7’, 450lb guy is definitely out. Thx for the awesome video!

It isn’t universal it is B&M the maker of the coaster and he also said it is his Weight and he is to big but the height doesn’t matter

Karla Stone I 6 feet 2 and can fit on Slingshot at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio, I just fit on Millennium Force safety belt across my waist line.
Most of my issues with that seat are my chest. I’m just too big there.

Hey man! Wondering if you would like to get together for a collaboration Big Man Style? I’m in Florida.

Yeah. I sat on the arm rests too :(

This is an awesome launch coaster! At your height is the amount of rides you can ride very small?

Yeah, the Mummy has a quite a sudden stop near the end. I imagine it could be quite jolting for you.
Adventure Mode Traveling Hulk isn’t a launch coaster, it’s tire propelled
Thank you for making these videos. I lost

Used the extend safety belt. I did that on Raptor at Cedar, and fit good.
I asked the guys at the gate if there were extenders available and they said no. I will have to attempt it again.
@@ParksInYourPocket Keep trying, same for Dr. Dooms fear fall
Hi Dave, appreciate your videos? Would it be ok to ask what your waistline is?
I think at the time I recorded this, around 53 inches.
How tall are you? Also whats your waist size if you dont mind. Thanks much
Sure! I have a video covering my measurements here: th-cam.com/video/OJdPMQjrC5k/w-d-xo.html
