As an Indian I think the fight, resistance and struggle of Mukti Bahini and people of Bangladesh won the war. India just helped people suffering from atrocities by sending the army. I also agree that it was a combined effort of the Indian army and Bangla People.
We Indian should not brag about it, it undermines the freedom struggle of Bangla people .
Never forget "Neki kar Dariya mein daal".

In recent times the Indian people are picking up that enmity is there between Bangladeshi and Indians. And the Bangladeshi people resent the Indians.
Truth is, you have exactly said the reason for the grievance of Bangladeshi people. The Indians should not think that they solely gave us independence. They merely expedited this and we are grateful for it

@@sharifhosain9891 Thank you brother. I wish the same for you...
We have been taught about the greatness of Bangla literature and scholars since childhood. We admire the Bangla language as a whole without borders. One should not forget the uprising in Bangladesh was not religious or merely political, but it was Cultural in every sense. Nowadays people spread hatred based on religion on both sides which is very upsetting. There is nothing between India and Bangladesh to feel insecure or have enmity between. I personally feel politically we are aligned, unfortunately socially getting apart!

No mention of the Tibetan SFF who played pivotal role in defeating the Pakistan army a round the Chittagong hills and preventing them running away to Myanmar. We lost 56 brave SFF Vikas warriors in this liberation war of Bangladesh. The Multi Bhahini were train by SFF in Chakrata in India and fought together with the SFF.

ADDITIONAL HISTORY: During the nine-month duration of the war (with Bangladesh forces), the Pakistani Army, with the assistance of local collaborators systematically executed an estimated 991 teachers, 13 journalists, 49 physicians, 42 lawyers, and 16 writers, artists and engineers. Most of the executions were committed on December 14, just 2 days before surrendering(when they already knew ,they are gonna lose the war). Even after the official ending of the war on 16 December there were reports of killings being committed by either the armed Pakistani soldiers or by their collaborators.

The people of Bangladesh are grateful to India for their incredible support in the 1971 Liberation war of Bangladesh. At the same time the people of Bangladesh are saddened by constant border killing by the BSF (Border force of India) throughout the border area every now and then. A lot of illegal Indian civilians also intrude into Bangladesh but the BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) never opens fire at them. Bangladesh believes in peace and discourages malice to any of It's counterparts. We condemn the border killing of the Indian Border Force.
Bangladesh and India share cultural elements, same historic context and mutual relation of friendship and resilience since the very beginning. The people of Bangladesh expect such ambience with zero hostility from the Indian side.

The weapons and equipment were given by Indian forces. Guerilla tactics were taught by Indian forces. Then you guys fought Guerilla war against Pakistani Army for about 7-9 months while the Indian armed forces prepared for war on both fronts(East and West Pakistan) and then eventually fought the war on the fronts.

And also I dont think Bangladeshis should undermine and underestimate the help of India (Economically, Financially, Socially and Militarily) towards the people of East Bengal. Without that help, there would not be an independent Bangladesh.

India didn't give Bangladesh their freedom, they helped Bangladesh. Bangladesh itself fought hard for its freedom and made huge sacrifices, their guerrilla warfare made the biggest difference in the war.

Yeah but your blood and sacrifice would not have yielded the signing of the instrument of surrender. The entire training of Muktibahini was done by Indian forces.
Our primary agenda were the million refugees that had illegally crossed over to India and then anything else.
More than 3000 of Indian soldiers died, thousand others went missing and 10000 injured. How do you think India forces took so many losses if you had liberated everything? Who got the Pakistani Airforce and Navy to its knees? Who blocked the supply lines to Pakistani forces via the Bay of Bengal? Muktibahini and Bangladeshis were nothing without Indian training and weapons and continuous support(and we acknowledge that you fought extremely well). We attacked Pakistanis not to take any credit but when they officially started the war by bombing our airbases towards west Pakistan. We had a complete war on the western front involving all 3 forces - Army, Navy, Airforce. We then fought them on both the fronts for 13 days and then they signed he instrument of surrender to us.
Meanwhile we also gave a political exile to your temporary government and took the issue to UN and the whole world.
If you think that you would have liberated Bangladesh without all this massive support by India, then remember that approximately 10 MILLIONS of you had run across the border to the Indian side including your men. Videos are still available on TH-cam.

What the heck was that? Now I must admit, India's help was paramount and without said help, victory would be much more tedious, but to say that India "Gave" Bangladesh independence is not right

As a person born in Pakistan, I must say the brave Pakistani military NEVER lost wars against the civilians but lost ALL wars against a real military. Looking at the recent situation in Pakistan, these brave ISI personals are busy capturing, torturing, and killing those who speak against them. Their bravery is unmatched, so far, they have won all the wars in their control for all Pakistani institutions. They are very efficient in supporting weak and corrupt politicians. These weak politicians do corruption for them and can be easily blackmailed. Pakistan military would NEVER want to bring a real democracy in Pakistan, because that will put them back in the barracks, reduce their power, and even reduce their size.

This documentary/narration has missed several very very important information either unintentionally or willingly, I have no idea. Whatever it is [though I don't trust Indians], add the followings in your history about Bangladesh Liberation War.
    1) India didn't help East Pakistan to be liberated just to be born a new Nation/Country but for their own interests. If India remains surrounded by Pakistan [East & West], the rest of India's life will be neck-tightened. Therefore, for India's own/self interests, India interrupted and created enmity so that Pakistan can be separated. India never wanted goodness of Bangladesh [East Pakistan], still doesn't want and will never want. This is India.
    2) During & post victory of Bangladesh on December 16, 1071, India looted wealth from Bangladesh like nobody's business.
WION, journalism has no race, color, religion, dialect, geo location, and so on but one thing, "revealing and informing the truth". Therefore, don't act as right hand of Indian PM but be impartial and liberal...
