Anyway, This is a very rare late sherman tunnel, most likely built right before they merged with Hanna Industries.

Confirms what I have heard about the HDM-3...and answers my questions about 80's Sherman systems. Very impressive.
We have a local car wash that used to have the exact same system. It was built in the 90’s.
I noticed a belanger arch right after the last mitter

Melbourne, Australia used to use Sherman Tunnel Wash systems at Shell Car Spas at Shell Station outlets in Melbourne but they were mostly replaced in 2005 by WashTec Softcare Junos under the Shell Coles Express ownership.
the first mitter is a model 1554 dynamitter, i used to work at a car wash that had the same mitter(from 1984), sadly that car wash has since closed and the mitter has been dismantled, sherman also made a mitter a diagonal front to back motion(very unusual for a front to back mitter curtain, but at the same time very cool and unique!!!), i do not know the model number of that one sadly, if anyone does, please reply!!!. 80's sherman equipment is my favorite when it comes to car wash equipment!!!!!!

I think it may be a model 1553 dynamitter for the diagonal 2 basket one. I asked a carwash page on facebook that was verified to have sherman and they sent me a pic of the nameplate yesterday. At least that's what I could make out of the stamped on numbers.
There's one wash facility in the Carrollton/North Dallas area (north of the Addison Airport) that used to have a Sherman equipment. Now, it got rebranded, renovated, and replaced with Sonny's equipment. The Sherman package is pretty much smaller than this with a standard contouring blowers.
Did it also have some exotic rinse arch that titled and went up and down? I've got a memory of a car wash near that area in the mid-late 00's and I recall barely being able to see the mitters and wraps from the lobby window. I hope that wasn't it :(
Was it checker flag car wash? That place was rebranded at some point in late 00's very early 10's as midway auto center according to google street view.
@@MichiganCarWashes No, I was talking about Crestview Corners on the southwest corner of midway & trinity mills. While the shopping center changed its name to bent tree plaza, the car wash got its name changed to in & out, and then take 5 express. When they were crestview, I believe they have a Sherman equipment, although the mitters were more straight rather than wavy.

We had a Sherman Car Wash in El Paso, but it got replaced with a lame Vector Rapid Wash :( But it looked exactly like that, with the dryers and everything.

This was replaced with Belanger Equipment in late 2018 :(

But which car wash centers other than in Michigan still uses 1980's Sherman Tunnel Car Wash systems there?

James Chong Concord car wash in concord MA has a Sherman/Hanna/PECO tunnel. Perfection Car Wash in Watertown also has a Sherman tunnel!

No. This equipment was built by Sherman Corp. the company that merged with Hanna. It was built before the merging in 1993.

tommiej3 Car Wash Studios I actually went here today! It's the Ryan Road Car Wash located at 29720 Ryan Rd, Warren MI 48092. This car wash is just outside Detroit and also has self serve bays on the property.
