Abandoned Ryko R7B - 4K

- Located in New Smyrna Beach, FL
Unfortunately this very old gas station was closed permanently. Google streetview last shows it was running in 2014, but the most recent showed it was shut off so I was honestly expecting an empty bay. Talk about missed opportunity.... Maybe there are more R7B's out there, but only time will tell. Soon i'll get down to the one in Miami.
2021 Update, machine has been removed, You were very fortunate to get a last minute video of it! :(
It has seen better days and on top of all that, it's been ages since I got washed in that system, lol.

I just found another abandoned R7B at a Mobil station in Lincoln NH. Even though there was a ton of crap stored in the bay, the machine itself was still inside. It had the blue and darker blue filament on it. Just like this one, it didn’t have dryers.
According to Shell's website and google maps (confirmed by the local operator) this station is only temporarily closed. I wonder what will happen to this when and if this place reopens.
Unfortunanly it was removed about 1 year ago :(
I haven’t seen an R7B in probably 30 years in Northern California.
It’s sad that it’s no longer operational, but it’s good that the machine itself is still there!
Bad news it’s scrapped now you where very claimed to take some videos or photos of it

I've always wanted to know what logic these old things used. My suspicions have been confirmed Its a cam timer!!
Must have been kinda dangerous for a socket outlet to be installed in the wash bay (next to the exit on the wall). I am an electrician in the UK and the regulations say that any electrical installation near water or in damp conditions must be in an IP65-68 enclosure meaning that it should be completely sealed against dust and water ingress, which can cause trips and faults.

Wow! she is beautiful, reminds me of my first sight of an R7B in this kind of condition when I was 7... Memories, but it's sad to see this in the condition it's in, did this have a code box or removed? Anyways I'm hyped for the soon coming video of the R7B in Miami, I wish you luck with it.
CarWashExplorations I believe it had a code box at one point especially with the on board code-a-wash communicator, but I couldn’t find where it was installed!!! It seems as if they covered up the concrete mounts wherever it was. I really wonder how they operated it, maybe it wasn’t part of the gas station- I believe they used it to clean cars for the service center
Car Wash Studios actually on google maps, it had a dtmf code box right outside the garage door... but it isnt there no more

@@mpollux2 you will like it sadly it closed around july-august 2019 according to the gas station owner he said somebody crashed into and it was completely destroyed :( so i don't know if the machines still inside but i will still check it out.

Scotty M It's still there but unfortunately the pinwheel brushes are gone.

How long has this been gone? I'm guessing about 5 years because of the gantry being really rusty, and the filament being quite out of shape!
