Thank you for posting this film! My Uncle Sherman (Sherman Larson) founded the Sherman Car Wash Company and owns many of the early patents for car wash and vacuum equipment. He used to drive all over the country visiting car wash operators with his portable home and office in the back of an Airstream trailer. He was all about making a better product and servicing the car wash operators. Sadly, the Hanna website makes no mention of my Uncle Sherman. When I was about 12 years old, I vividly remember getting a tour of the Palmyra New Jersey factory. My Mom always said that my Uncle was a better engineer than a business man, but my Uncle Sherman is an unsung founder of the car was industry. Thank you again for posting this video!

@Rich Hurley Your uncle was the owner of Sherman? If he was. That's cool! He must have liked merging with Hanna!

In the 1950s and 1960s, car wash top brushes were small.

James, there were over 26000 Sherman car washes sold world wide over its existence. We stopped building and selling equipment in 1993. There still exists a lot of Sherman equipment scattered throughout the US, I don't know of any complete Sherman tunnels still operating. If you want more information on Sherman contact me at fredgrauer@comcast.net, thanks for your interest,Fred

Used to be at Shell Car Spas in Melbourne until they were replaced in 2005 by Washtec Softcare Pro or Juno car wash systems.

Sherman partnered with Hanna car wash equipment. Over the years the company has had some ups and downs bad partnerships. They still make car wash equipment in Texas under the the name Colemen-Hanna car wash systems. colemanhanna.com/

James Chong there is a Sherman tunnel at the Perfection Car Wash in Watertown. However, the covering of the equipment was stripped off. The wash works really well. It’s from around the 70’s.
