Hi! I shot this wedding with no flash so no hss. I don’t ever use hss actually. This church was naturally lit really well actually so my iso was pretty low and my shutter at 1/200 with my aperture being at f2.8 for my 70-200 lens and at f2.0 for my 35 mm sigma art lens. Thanks for watching!!

Hi, like every video, very very educative.
    (1) when you say you exposed based on her face, were you using spot metering?
    (2) you used to show us the settings direct from the camera, can it be done always?
    (3) what settings do you sue for your flash, can you give us a rough idea since every situation is different? or what is the process you go through to get it right.
Thanks man.... watching all your videos

Hi! When I expose for their face what I mean is I make sure that their faces are bright enough on screen and let everything else around them expose accordingly. I set up the brightness on the camera screen to closely match my calibrated monitor. I also shoot raw so if I get close enough to a well exposed face I can always tweak it a bit. I did use to use the ninja v mounted on my camera but that is super heavy and the cord from the ninja to the camera would always come lose and it just became too much to use. There is this chest mount for the go pro. Maybe I should wear that so you’ll always have the point of view that will show the camera screen? I use flash very minimally. Setting up the power of the flash is as easy as three steps. 1. Expose the photo the way you want first with out flash. I usually expose brighter, not darker so that the flash isn’t going to overpower the existing light. 2. Turn your flash on and start of at a low setting. Take a test shot and repeat. 3. Take the shot. Actually it’s a bit more complicated. I’ll make a video soon explaining how I do flash for on camera and off camera for events and portraits
